Last week was tough with this heat we are having. So I needed to adjust my routine to something lighter. So my goals for this week are to do a AM stretch and/or yoga and a PM walk.

My knee that has been bothering me off and on for about a month decided to swell up today, so until I can get a doctors appointment I will be skipping pedaling and just doing upper body. I didn’t pedal today and dang it I want to more then I can believe. I hope I can get to the doctor tomorrow, and they can tell me what is going on or tell me low impact pedaling is ok.
So, I am just about to do my arm exercises which aren’t nearly as fun as pedaling, but I guess doing them daily will be my goal for now.
Thank you for staring this each week, I really enjoy reading everyone’s posts!

I hit my goal last week of riding 5 days a week and throwing in some more challenging rides.
I’m going to level up a bit and say my goal is 6 rides this week with a longer ride on the weekend.
This AM I did my first ride of the week. It had quite a bit of out of the saddle work and I was able to keep up. I can’t keep my cadence quite as high as the instructor wanted out of the saddle, but I got close.

Thanks for Week 5! My goal is going to 5 group exercises at the gym. If the weather interferes, I will do something on my own or double up the day before.

I've been doing Leslie Sansone youtube videos for about the last three months-about five times per week.
But there's a limited number of them and they are spliced together so a couple days ago I subscribed to their app--about $8 per month--lots to choose from--1 mile to 5 miles.
I really try to do 30 minutes of exercise per day (according to my apple watch) so I usually do two 15-minute (1 mile) videos per day or if I'm feeling ambitious, a 30 minute (2 mile) one.
I also sometimes do the Annie Taylor upper body You Tube videos.
It's way too hot here to do anything outside unless I was to be outside by 6 am. I don't even get out of my pj's until 11 am so that's not going to happen.
I belong to LA Fitness but haven't been there since March.
I really try to close my rings on my Apple watch; it's really motivating for me. That's my main goal and I close them probably 5-6 days per week.

I saw the doctor today, I have to see another doc, but they think it is a meniscus issue with my knee so I should be ok to pedal tomorrow! I am very excited and I can’t believe myself that I am looking forward to exercising. I did arm stuff today, but I don’t enjoy that as much.
Glad to hear everyone is modifying their exercise to accommodate the weather and life circumstances.
Good work, everyone!

I rode 470 miles on the Peloton last month and my goal is 500 miles this month. I reached 420 today so I have to do around 13 miles for the next 6 days which shouldn’t be too difficult. I also signed up to do 4 Peloton running classes over the next two weeks so I’ll have to fit them in.
I’ll also be walking my dogs and swimming most days.
I just need to get my diet back on track and cut out the junk food.

I didn't meet my goal last week so I'm going to set it again. 3 rides and 2 kickboxing workouts. I did my first ride yesterday.
My kickboxing studio reopens for in person classes on Thursday. The capacity is down to 4 people per class (from 22) and you have to wear a mask to work out. No thanks. The gym has been discounting our memberships during covid, and doing outdoor and online workouts. The email I got basically said that they are starting classes again and will get back to us regarding our memberships. I am hoping the mask requirement goes away.

My goal is to do something every weekday and optional on weekends. I like to be outside and have found the weekends super busy this year.
Yesterday I did 5 km in my kayak. Spent some time really using my arms and getting a bit of speed. I still want to cycle, walk, yoga and do a dumbbell workout for my arms. 💪

Day 2 done. I’m moving away from beginner rides and doing slightly harder rides. I can only fit in 20-30 min, but I’m definitely still working up a sweat. I did a fun broadway ride. The 20 minutes went by so quickly today.
Seriously if you are on the fence about getting a spin bike and the Peloton app, do it! I just got a well reviewed bike on Amazon for around $300 because I wanted to make sure it was something I would love before making a big investment. Dh and I both love it. We are already thinking about getting a 2nd bike so we can ride together.

I just started a new Peloton challenge yesterday, so I'll be doing 3 days/week of cycling plus my regular strength and stretching classes.

chiming in late
My goal is exercise - I need to start moving more. I've enlisted my DDs help and it worked today. DD13 has to do an hour of PE so she went outside to play basketball and DD20 popped in a WATP dvd for her and I to do together.
At a minimum if we can continue to do that on days where their schedules align (one is on a red/white day schedule, the other has MWF/TuTH classes) it'll be a start

Did my 20 minute low impact pedal today (all I am allowed to do until I figure out what is going on with my knee) but it felt so good! I agree with SabrinaP I love the peloton app so much and I hated exercise before trying this. I have tried every form of exercise over the past 30 years and never found anything I ever enjoyed enough that I looked forward to it everyday. I know it had only been a few weeks, but honestly I have never felt like this. I like Christine D as my instructor best. I have tried a few others but she is my favorite. That is one of the things I like most about the app is the variety of instructors and the great search feature. There are so many options, there really is something for anyone. SabrinaP that is a great idea to get another bike so you guys can ride together. I should ask my husband if he wants to do that, he is afraid to ride mine because we have to adjust the whole bike each time we ride since we obviously aren’t the same size.

I went back a week on my running schedule. It took so many months to heal my hip injury I just don’t want to chance it. I still ran though.
I’m behind on the 30 day challenge with lily.

My goal is to get 10,000 steps on my fitness tracker 5 days this week. Monday: 17,373 steps Tuesday: 9,366 steps so far. And it's dark. Hoping dishes and chores can take care of the last 634 steps!

This weeks goal is 3 days at the gym. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Monday is done and was hard! Tuesday is done and was great, I was able to do the same workout with only one modification! I even added more weight to my barbell for the deadlifts Today is my rest day and I’m stuck at the computer all day. Hopefully I’ll get some movement in. Tomorrows workout is crazy so I’m interested in how we will modify it. I my gym and my coaches. Being back has really helped me feel better during the pandemic.

Just finished my 20 minute ride and I did add the 5 minute cool down, so 25 minutes for me. I will do my arm stuff while watching BB tonight.
So glad everyone is doing so well! It is amazing how much less stress and nerves I feel when I pedal. I understand now why people run to relieve stress. I will never be a runner, but pedaling really does help. I was a ball of stress and nerves before getting my bike. Going from being around kids all day and getting 10,000 steps before 1:00pm to being trapped in my house most days and barely 3,000 steps in an entire day was clearly wearing on me.
Good work, everyone! I am cheering for us all!

I'm pretty boring. I walk 4 miles per day on my treadmill, six days a week. It's just too hot to walk outside. Since working from home, I now get my walk in over lunch so my evening is free.

My goal this week is 5 days of 45 minutes of movement.
I took a really nice hour walk on the rail trail on Sunday. I walked the neighborhood for an hour on Monday. Took Tuesday off. By the time I was ready to walk, it was 90 and humid. This morning it's in the 60s and dry, so I walked an hour in the neighborhood (not including three stops for chats).
I feel so much better now - much more even keeled emotionally.
