Hello! Here's your sketch for September 4th. I chose a page map one page 8.5x11, that I stretched to a 12x12. I stayed pretty true to the sketch, as I tend to do. Your twist for this sketch is add a star. I hope you enjoy it and can't see what you do with it! Sketchtember 1 by Joyfulnana, on Flickr Dream big by Joyfulnana, on Flickr

Great sketch! I like how you stretched it over the bigger page. So now we have examples of both formats! Got #3 drying so i can take a pic in the morning. Hoping to get to this one some time tomorrow. I have (surprisingly NOT) some more little boy pages, so stars are kinda a staple around here. Might need to add a second page though...

Love your take on it - the blues and browns look great.

joyfulnana, I love this. Thank you for a 8.5x11 sketch. I can't wait to do this. I love your page. The masculine colors are perfect. I love his stance. He is a multi-talented young man! Stars are great. I can work with that.

nylene, some of the sketches I like best lately seem to be 8.5x11 so I'm sure I'll post more on the random sketchy Saturday

I really liked this sketch. So for my very fist posting of any of my pages here, here is my take on it. Not exact and no stars but I am happy with it. Thanks for the inspiration.

joyfulnana Really cute layout! I like the diagonal of stars across your page, telling your eyes were to go. I love playful photos like this. psiluvu I love how you made this sketch yours! The use of circles in the different areas of your page really brings it all together. Here is my take. I stayed fairly true to the sketch with a little extra embellishing at the end. I really enjoyed working with this one and can see myself using it again!

psiluvu - that is a great interpretation - love the scalloped piece Ryann - love the colours you used - they work really well with the photo Here's my version - for DD20's college album - it seems to have scanned a bit off kilter, probably due to the eyelet

psiluvu - congrats on your first LO share! I love that scalloped paper, and the buttons work better than stars here, perfect colors for your photo! Ryann I love these colors and that tag! And your spatters! Linda I love that photo and the quote and you nailed that cluster!

Here is my take. This is my son's Year 10 photo from earlier this year, when they were actually allowed to go to school! I used the 'Blue Skies' kit by Katie Pertiet.

psiluvu I really like how you adapted this sketch. I like the color scheme as well as the use of circles throughout the layout. Ryann very cute layout. I like the pops of pink throughout the layout. The tag under the title is cool idea. Linda I like that you took time to document a solemn religious event. You scrapped it perfectly. The quote added was wonderful. And the little cross element at the top is fun.

So many awesome takes! psiluvu, that scalloped piece and touches of yellow give your page a fresh look. Congrats on jumping in with both feet! Love the photo. That is one happy shopper! Ryann , your papers really highlight the photo. Love the title up the side. Awesome cluster. Linda , your page is boh simple and striking. You have such photogenic daughters! AussieMeg , that boy is really growing up! I love seeing pages with your kids at all different ages. Seems like he is morphing into a young man before our eyes. Love all the blues.

This came together so quickly, thanks joyfulnana! I did add the top/bottom strips since I've been doing that a LOT lately...and added an extra cluster! I don't think the star looks too out of place? layout fall market 101 by kirstendrew, on Flickr

You Make Me Smile wendy crowe , AussieMeg , kitbop and joyfulnana , you have love left in the gallery. psiluvu , your page is so cute. I never know what to do with those shaped papers and using half of one on this page was brilliant. I love the monochromatic look of this and that photo is really fun. Congrats on posting your first page here. Keep up the good work. Ryann , you stayed so close to the sketch and it turned out fabulous. I love the colors, the different fonts on the title and the tag with twine. This is an amazing page. Linda , that’s a great page and a great photo. You did a great job following the sketch. The cross on the top piece is a great touch. scrappyrabbit , I love that bottom border on your page. I really like the way you put your photos and embellishments toward the top of the page. Using pop dots to lift those pieces higher was a great idea.

Wow! We seriously need a love button! You ladies have rocked this sketch and I love all the different takes! AussieMeg I love the non-traditional colors and those paint smears are awesome! Very handsome young lad there too! kitbop I love love love the torn strips and your clusters are also so awesome. Great title! And the star looks like it belongs :; wendy crowe I LOVE those colors and your clusters, and the buttons are a perfect touch! scrappyrabbit I love the direction you took the sketch, using more photos and I love that photo of the coffee...love my coffee lol. I'm not sure how to make the photos smaller, every time I post them from tapatalk they come out either huge or itty bitty lol. There's a thread on the GS board that can help you get set up in the flikr gallery. Lots of us link from there. nylene Swazee is just gorgeous and so is this page! Perfect colors, I love the different fonts on the title and all those sparkly sequins!

joyfulnana Linda wendy crowe you all mentioned non-traditional school colours. I had no idea there were traditional school colours! What are they? I used blue and red on my LO because those are the colours of my son's school uniform (although he wasn't wearing the red tie or red jumper/sweater in the photo).

Here's mine - As you can see, I stuck right to the sample except for making it a two pager. I've had these pictures and "journaling" that I downloaded from my son's FaceBook page ages ago. I could never figure out what to do with them. They are not very good and for someone who scraps a boatload of pictures doing only two was a challenge. Until I saw this sketch. AussieMeg - it seems like school themed scrapbook papers/embellishments are almost always bright primary colours (red/yellow/blue) with some secondary colours mixed in (green/orange - rarely purple). Think yellow school buses and pencils, red apples and schoolhouses, etc... wendy crowe used greytones for her school layout even though she used traditional school icons - it's a striking layout but an unusual colour choice. I love it! I do think it would be the perfect colourscheme for my primary school photos - my uniform was a grey skirt, white blouse, grey jumper or blazer, and grey knee highs....the tie varied depending on the school (I went to 4 schools before I turned 10)

Here ya go! Kinda wild and crazy like the little boys in the photos, but it IS a take on this sketch! I tried to keep the first page closer to the original, but I had all that little boy "stuff" to pile on! And I DID remember to throw some stars at both pages. I had seen a page on the Treasured Memories website that used View Master reels on top of pp strips in border clusters, so I used that as my model for the second page. Just roll with it by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks for the challenge and inspiration, joyfulnana ! So happy to see so many Peas playing along!
