Welcome to the weekend everyone! My sketch for today is a double page sketch from PageMaps September 2020. It has several little photos which are easy for digital scrappers as we can resize any photo quickly, but may present a challenge for traditional scrappers. It should be easy to convert them into a couple of bigger portrait photos though. I chose this sketch because I thought either side could easily be used as a single page sketch if you prefer.
And here is my take. I changed two of the portrait photos into 4 landscape photos, and made everything on the page a bit bigger. My twists this month will be 'recipe' twists. I am channeling my inner kitbop and grammadee , who are very creative when it comes to these fun recipes. I hope I can do them justice! It is now spring here in Australia, and in honour of spring and all the beauty and freshness that it brings, my recipe is as follows: 1. GRASS is growing - use the colour green on your project 2. FLOWERS are blooming - use flowers on your project eg. flower embellishments, flower stickers, floral paper, photos of flowers 3. BIRDS are singing - include something that flies on your page eg. bird, bee, balloon, plane 4. NEW LIFE - include a new purchase or something you haven't used before on your project For September team members, points are as follows: Take 2 points for using the sketch Take 1 point for each of the ingredients used on your project Take 5 bonus points for using the sketch and all of the ingredients on your project Have fun, and I can't wait to see what you do with this sketch!

Ooops, I nearly forgot..... here is the link to the PSD template in Dropbox for any digital scrappers: Sketchtember 5 template
I have hidden all the layers to reduced the file size, so you will need to unhide them after downloading.

AussieMeg Great sketch and lovely layout! Really love the bright, happy color combo. Linda Fun layout and I love the title! Here is my interpretation of the sketch. I used the left side to create my layout. I didn't stray too far from the original. I used a variety of Doodlebug papers and stickers from previous SCT Sampler kits that I hadn't used yet, so this seemed like a good fit for the "new" twist. Santa riding on a reindeer was a bit of stretch for something that flies, but I'm going for it!

Ryann, I love Doodlebug and love all the little pieces you have used on this layout. I love the way your arranged the photos and the bright colors cascading down the right side. Very pretty layout.

Ok, this has been the hardest so far to convert to TN size, but I think I got close.... Here’s my take 2020 Sketchtember #5 The twist was hard since I’m using this kit which has no green in it, so I sort of figured out a solution and my hummingbird has green eyes (you can only see one eye though.) Here’s the close up 2020 Sketchtember #5 close up

Oh boy, I hesitate to even post this. I started out with 3 photos for the page 1 sketch and had it turned "landscape" so there was room to arrange them correctly. The more I worked on it, the less I liked it. I wanted the floral swag to be my big circle, but that wasn't working either. Finally, I just took the elements I had and turned it "portrait" and glued it down. It doesn't look anything like the sketch, but that's where I started. Why do I sign up for Sketchtember? It does have flowers and green and a butterfly and brand new Nuvo drops. First Dance

I posted this on the sharing thread, but I forgot to post here! it's not an exact replica of the sketch, but I was definitely inspired by it!

AussieMeg I really liked this sketch, especially since it used lots of pictures wendy crowe - love what you did with your baseball pictures nylene - I love the flowers; This is my take on the sketch. I didn't manage to incorporate any twists but ds (the star of the page) actually made a comment on how much he liked it. He usually doesn't mention anything so I guess I did all right LOL

Linda I love the look of the bigger photos. The papers are so pretty, as is your daughter. And I love the title - so funny! Ryann those photos are precious, and I love the title. Gorgeous bright colours, and I love how you did the different coloured squares down the side instead of photos. Oh, and the Santa on a reindeer totally counts as something that flies! Great set of photos wendy crowe, they are perfect for this sketch. Having them matted in red and/or white is a great look too, makes them stand out against the background. I always forget the twists too haha! ComplicatedLady wow, you've done an amazing job to convert this sketch into TN size! Your pages are so pretty, and I love that you managed to get a bit of green on there too! nylene what a gorgeous page! Your grand daughter looks stunning, and her hair - WOWEE! Please don't worry about your pages straying from the original sketches. We all understand that sketches are a starting point only. I think it shows true creativity to be able to turn a sketch into something that works better for you. scrappyrabbit I love your take on the sketch too. Those photos are stunning, I'm glad you made them bigger than the original sketch. I love all the embellishments you used, especially that camping and fishing sign. psiluvu you have chosen perfect photos for this sketch too. I was originally going to use sporting photos as well, but then changed my mind to doing a spring related page. I love the look of the baseball border along the bottom of both pages.

I will come back and comment on what I had not seen in the Gallery or the sharing thread. Here is my take on the sketch. I think it has all the ingredients for the recipe: green cs and butterflies, a wood veneer flower, butterfly wings, and a die I had never before used. HOME @ Work by Gramma Dee, on Flickr It is pretty dark. Photos were taken in our gloomy basement, and I didn't want to overwhelm them with bright papers, so the whole LO is dingy, too, except for the hit of yellow and the butterflies.
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). #1 Got the sketch (2), the twists--green, flower, wings, & unused supplies--(4) and the bonus (5). #2 nine photos for the Donna challenge (9), #8 is this before & after? We started with a box and ended up with a play house for bunnies! (1), #12 some circles and an arch (2), #15 April 2020 photos (2), #17 Nuvos (2), #24 I am taking a point for the wooden flower and the stuffed bunny in the photo (1), #28 this was a school project (2), #31 & 32 (4), #35 spring 2020 (2), #36 old wood veneer, cs; new pp (2), #39 first page (1), #42 smiling (2), #50 cardboard edges are torn (2), #52 the door on the house (1), #55 these are my people (1). Total: 49

Linda, I LOVE your title! Glad she got that one finished! Does she yell at you when she is frustrated with an assignment, like my dd? Love your LO, Ryann. Doodlebug makes every page cute! If those gifts are for that kitty, then they were indeed nice! Great way to use up bits and pieces! Awesome baseball page, psiluvu! Love how your photos capture the whole experience!

I was nervous about this sketch, especially finding photos that would work. That turned out to be the easier part! The harder part (for me) was deciding what papers were going where... but I'm super happy with how it turned out! layout today is 12 by kirstendrew, on Flickr
