So, after my very long wait for my order to arrive - Stamptember is here!
Every day they have a "collaboration of the day" vendor and once it is sold out, no more available. Example yesterday was Gina K, it sold out quickly. Today was Mama Elephant, the complete set sold out quickly. Tomorrow it will be some other vendor.
Here's my question: Are people seriously buying the collaboration items day by day, and spending shipping on each day? If you ended up buying from each collaboration (28 total), you would have been charged for 28 shippings. That seems crazy.
A couple days ago, I saw somewhere (maybe here) that someone was suggesting that you can order and pay for items, but not have it shipped until you have a bunch of items to ship all at once. I think the person was international and the shipping costs was expensive and to do several orders you could spend more on total shipping. It was an idea of trying to figure out how to not pay so much in shipping.
Anyway, it started me thinking that this idea (^^) would be a great idea for Stamptember, where you get charged for each day, but it all ships at the end of Stamptember in one big box (for hopefully a lot cheaper than the individual shipping). It could be a SSS nightmare though.
Anyway, just a question to those that buy multiple collaboration days, and all the shipping costs.

I was wondering how many SSS makes of each design as they sell out so quickly! A run of 10K, 20K? Anyone know?
I was also wondering about the shipping issue too.
Still it’s fun to see what every company does and how you can tell their style!

I have only bought a couple of items in a past Stamptember and all I remember was that it took forever to get my sets. I just checked my emails and I bought two sets together so I can’t comment on the shipping. I resisted looking much for a long time until I saw two in stock that I really wanted. Honestly, I wasn’t too tempted by most of them.
BTW I have bought and seen sets that were quite similar to ones that were part of the limited releases. Not copies or anything, but sets by the same companies that are in similar styles, sometimes just as good or better, so don’t be too sad if you miss out on them. I’m trying not to look to often!

I was wondering this same question myself. I just ordered the Exclusive Altenew Stamp & Die Set. It is Beautiful with some great sentiments! Shipping was 6.99 ! I thought that was high compared to most places I shop, so by the time I paid tax it wasn’t a good deal after all 😂 Oh well! I love it, so just take all my money 😂🤣😂

I placed an order on the first day I think, when they released the SSS slimline dies. I'm in Canada, so I tried to order all the things on my wishlist in one go, stock status permitting... I got up to $100 and was hoping I could add a freebie to the order but there was no promo code available. And no free shipping either because of Stamptember and it being an international order. I decided to order anyway. Imagine my irritation when they started advertising all the free gifts with purchase from the very next day!! And there have been new deals each day!! So frustrating.

One of the things I've learned about Stamptember is if there's something you really love, don't snooze on it, because then it will sell out. There's a snarky Technique Tuesday set from I think 2018 that I still regret not buying. And I don't think they make a ton, because I haven't been able to find it second hand either. (At least there don't appear to be those retail arbitrage buyers snatching all the sets up to sell for ten times the price. It seems they're mostly going to crafters.) Also, my recollection of years past is that I could wake up in the morning, check the blog, think about the stamp set until lunch time, and still have a good shot at getting it. Everything's going live at midnight eastern (which is fine, I'm still up) and the sellouts seem to happen by morning.
I made a purchase on the first day to get one of Simon's own sets. That one I didn't mind because they had a bunch of coupons so I got a free $10 enamel pin. (I've been converting them to needle minders for cross stitch projects.) And then I bought the Mama Elephant set, because I was pretty sure I would regret not getting it.
My instinctive mind always hates paying shipping, especially flat rate shipping, but my rational mind steps in and reminds me: 1. All our good craft stores have closed (non-pandemic reasons), so it would cost at least $7 in gas to shop anywhere. 2. The mailman brings it right to the door, which I appreciate now more than ever. 3. Seven bucks isn't the overcharge it used to be. It was extra annoying when I could mail a small package for under $3, but now most start around $4 because of my location. 4. I just accept $7 when I order from SU and CTMH (well, I still hate paying it but I've never really questioned it). 5. I know I'm not going to buy ALL the Stamptember products. There are a lot of brands that I like listed, but I usually do NOT like the stamp
And this year, I have a little extra money in the budget because I'm not eating lunch out every day at work.
So, yes, I do place separate orders this month and pay the shipping each time. But I don't think I've ever ordered even 5 times in a month.

I always enjoy Stamptember and yes there is no special coupon for shipping but it's not an outrageous amount. It's already the beginning of September and my cart has a lot of goodies in it. I know if you see something you like then get it as it sells out and may not come back!

I wouldn’t mind paying the shipping if I really wanted the item but it seems like if you don’t order right at midnight when it’s release you don’t have a shot at getting it. I’m not staying up until then just to see each release through the month.

Does it show what the previous collaborations were? Even though they’re sold out I’m curious about what they were

Shipping was 6.99 ! I thought that was high compared to most places I shop It's pretty true to the true cost of shipping, I believe. It's about in line with scrapbook dot com, although the later gives faster service. A lot of shops are eating the shipping cost which gives us the feeling that it's free or cheap, but we're just paying in the cost of the goods or they are cutting into their profit. My eyes glaze over every time I have to mail something over a few ounces. (And it's amazing little even a small box costs $25 to ship internationally to my family).

Last year I bought the lawn fawn and the mama elephant colabs. The previous year I only bought the lawn fawn one. This year I skipped Mama Elephant but will be checking out lawn fawn (which goes live later tonight or after midnight). Their shipping isn't the worst I've seen but it's probably close to my high limit.

The Lawn Fawn stamp is for sale now. I am going to skip it. I think the stamp is a little too expensive plus the tweety bird theme is just ok.

The lawn fawn one is cute and I like all of the cards by the designers. But, too much coloring for me. Skipping this one too.

So far none of the Stamptember sets have been must haves for me. I usually buy the Lawn Fawn set, but not this year. Too similar to other LF sets I already own.

I knew it was supposed to go live on the 7th (or a few minutes before) since stamptember started so I've been waiting.

It’s No-Spendtember for me. Unfortunately, migraine + pain meds + benedryl self didn’t get the memo. I apparently bought the Lawn Fawn stamps and some stuff off the Ranger site sometime after midnight. Oops. 🤦🏻♀️

Every September, I suffer from FOMO. But thankfully, I haven't been too tempted this year. I usually wait till the end of the month and since most things are sold out by then, I am happy to have saved money. The thought of paying for shipping for each order kills me!

I think for me, it makes it easier that I don't usually buy anything but exclusives from SSS and their brand goes on sale w/coupons from time to time so I don't buy it in september at all.

I am looking forward to the lawn fawn one, I got it last year I ordered one. I never paid attention to Stamptember, and this morning I just happened to see an email from Lawn Fawn about the set (Season's Tweetings) I watched the intro video and I was sold!! What a cute set, and this means my Christmas crafting has begun!

Jennifer McGuire made a really cute 3d window card with the lawn fawn set. No special 3d dies necessary.

I’d never heard of Stamptember until this thread. Of course I had to check it out. Some of the stamps have been cute. I almost bought the Altenew stamp but I didn’t really neeeed it so I passed. I may regret it, but what can you do? I just saw the Picket Fence one for today (“Happy Water”) and I have now placed my very first SSS Stamptember order—maybe even my first SSS order ever! I couldn’t pass it up since I recently got a sizzix die set of various cocktails. The phrases will be perfect for my close friends and my happy hour friends. Now, to see how long it takes for my stamps to arrive. Start the clock!!
