I notice lots of you appear to keep your scrapbooks in your scrapbook rooms/spaces, but I prefer to keep ours in the family room. I don't think anyone would really come into my room to sit and look through the albums. In the family room they are on an open shelf and super easy to pull out if anyone wanted to.

Right now the more current ones are in the family room (which also includes my scrapbook space) and the older ones are on bookcases in my bedroom

When I built my house eight years ago, I had a piece of furniture made to house my albums. It sits in the foyer of our home. Unfortunately, despite its large size, I have outgrown it. So I have overflow in my daughter's room (she has built in book shelves) and the ones still in progress are in my scrap loft.

Albums that are done and totally complete go in the family room. The ones I’m still plugging away with stay in my scrap room.
My kids are just as likely to pull out the in-progress albums as they are the finished ones. They’ll come hang out in my scrap room while I’m scrapping and pull down an album to flip through while chatting. The finished ones in the family room get pulled out when they’re remembering an event or something and want to see it.

I keep the most recent ones in the living room on the coffee table or under an end table. Then people can look through them when they want to. The older albums are on built in shelves in my scrap room, but it is running out of space, so not nure what I will do next...

I'm in the process of moving a handful of mine out of my scrap space, but I still need to make labels for the spines and make certain they're complete. But I already cleared a spot for their new home. I have a bookshelf deep enough for them in my office area where they'll go.

People complete albums? What a concept! 🤣 Ha! This is what I am thinking too! I’m like both of them are out in the family room by our big bookshelf. Lots of unfinished ones in my craft room and closet.

All albums are in my bedroom/ scrapping area.
I live in a multigenerational household, and i keep all my things in my bedroom.
When my kids want to see an album, they come & ask to.

I keep smaller albums in our family/dining room in our bookcases. The big 12x12s stay in the basement in my craft room simply because that's the only bookcase deep enough to hold them.

In my attic on a book shelf. I have a couple working albums my kids flip though but once they are filled we don’t look at them too often so I stuck them up there. This probably horrifies some of you. At times it horrifies me too. I just don’t want to have them all out.
My Xmas ones come down with the tree and go in a basket by the tree. Then at the end of the season they go back in the attic.

Majority of mine are kept in my scrap room. I recently did a mini album of various year's Halloween photos and put that on a tiered tray of Halloween decor. It's been looked at a lot. I generally lay the previous year's December Daily out somewhere around Christmas time. Our family albums and the kids school and baby albums I keep in my scrapbook room. I don't have a good display area anywhere else in the house and at this point it is a significant number of albums that would be hard to maintain anywhere else. My family grabs them out of my scrap room and thumbs through them from time to time-probably every couple months.

I have two 12x12 and one 9x12 album that live on the Kallax unit in my craft room.
My 6x8 completed albums live in a drawer in my craft room.
My husband is pretty adamant that he doesn’t want my hobby taking over our home. The next place they will go after I outgrow my craft room is in a sealed box in our loft.

I have albums all over the house. In my son's room which is empty when he doesn't live here there is a double bookcase with about 50 albums on it. He also has his sports and school albums on 2 shelves in his room.
In my living room I have another double bookcase and there are about 30 albums there. On the lower part of two end tables there are about 3-4 albums each.
In my bedroom I have 3 bookshelves together and have all my empty albums there and about 20 full or in progress albums on those shelves. Then in a corner of my room is a built in shelf with many 12x12 albums floor to ceiling.
Basically the long and short of it is they are anyplace I can find a place to put them.

I love hearing that so many of us have our albums out to be enjoyed 😊. Most of mine live in our family room also. I don’t have room for them all there, so it is just the ones since our kids were born. We often pull one out when we are trying to remember when a trip happened or to add context to a story we tell the kids about when they were younger. But I secretly worry about when my kids are going to realize Santa looks so different every year 🙈.

I know in the past I have seen people use the Kallax shelves from IKEA to store their 12x12 albums in/on. Does that work for the 3-ring albums also? I ask because they are longer than the post bound 12x12 albums? I measured my 3-ring albums and they are 15" long compared to the old post bound albums. I am guessing this isn't a problem since there is no back on the Kallax, the album will just hang over a bit in the front and the back. Unless someone knows of a different option for me to store my 3-ring 12x12 albums in? All eighteen plus of them. Thanks.

Yes the standard WRMK (and others) 3 ring 12x12 albums fit in the ikea cube system.

I do have a 12x12 ring binder that I bought years ago at Michaels, and it does fit perfectly. I'm sorry, I don't know the brand and it's not on the album...maybe Recollections? It would be great if others post brands that do fit.

Some I keep in our living room and some in my craft room. That reminds me, I should swap them out since no one is looking at the ones in the living room any longer.

Sort of a mix. I have the most current ones in my scrapbook room as I'm still working on them. Others are in the family room and/or our bedroom on bookshelves.

I have a 1 x 5 cube unit, that I have laying horizontal in my living room area of my studio apartment. My scrapbooks are in there. I use three ring binders, I scrapbook chronological by year(Jan -Dec). I currently have 13 currently scrapbooks (some years are in two binders), with another to be completed soon. On top of the 1 x 5 cube unit is home decor, on the wall above the cube unit I have three rows of picture ledges (about six feet across, for each row). Similar to this, except my photo frames and decorative signs are much smaller than the ones pictured, 4x4 to 11x14-ish. www.splendidhabitat.com/how-to-create-a-wow-gallery-wall/frames-on-ledge-apt-theraphy/

I keep my 12x12 albums in my scrap loft. I try to keep a few mini albums in a large decorative bowl in the living area for others to flip through.
My husband loves to flip through our dating and travel albums and the grandkids love to see themselves.

Currently, they are in both--because my scrappy spot is in the family room. But I have a separate 1x4 seat/shelf that is dedicated to sb album storage. It usually lives in the living room, but got moved so it could be a classroom. I am *seriously* considering converting all to post-bound for space, but I don't know if it would really make a difference.
