I just read a tweet that says there is a Hebrew saying that when translated means "May her memory be a revolution" and I feel like this certainly applies. What a woman. That being said, I am completely aware I haven't fact-checked this but wanted to share it. I'm really hoping this is a true and correct translation, you know, because...the interwebs. But nevertheless, if it's not? May her memory be a revolution for us all. I saw this on Twitter. I’m not sure if it’s accurate, but I thought it was a nice tribute too. I mean to also say what a lovely tribute by Mandy Patinkin. I "heart" him so much.

I was very sad to hear this .A great loss to her family and friends but also for your country at the loss of such an inspirational woman. May she rest in peace.
I find it deplorable that some of the GOP are rubbing their hands with glee and celebrating what this could mean to them in pursuit of a political gain. Have they no morals, respect or decency? The poor woman wasn't even cold before they started to publicly discuss their intentions.

They are all feeling so emboldened right now they aren’t even trying to hide how deplorable they are.

My favorite RBG quote:
"When I'm sometimes asked 'When will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court]?' and I say 'When there are nine,' people are shocked. But there'd been nine men, and nobody's ever raised a question about that."
Rest In Peace.

The men have had a few thousand years (up to very recently) and the best they can come up with is - whose gun is bigger. GIve women a few thousand years in sole charge and see how we do. I bet it's s s#(t-ton better than this horribly unequal world with far more pain and misery than necessary. RIP RBG. You were among the best of us and we love you.

I'm Portuguese and I'm so sad to hear this news. She was an amazing, inspirational woman.
I am also scared for America, really scared.

There are no words to sum up the sadness of her passing and not enough words to sum up all that she has done especially for women. RIP Ruth.

I'm feeling like a dope because earlier this week, there was chatter about The Thing's list of SC nominees and I stupidly thought, "that's weird that they would be talking about this now; maybe it's intended to be an injection of energy into their campaign" but didn't connect to the fact that apparently Rs had gotten wind of her decline and were already hovering like vultures.

Im still slightly sad, also slightly hungover this morning, I drunk an entire bottle of wine last night 😬, but also I am resolved. She would want us to be.

I did a cardio class this morning, and it was a nice distraction. But I still feel really tired and sad.
An old friend of mine who is fond of playing the whole “I’m firmly in the middle” trope when it comes to politics referred to the many posts about RBG as “histrionics”. I just about put my fist through my laptop. Sooo, time to get off Facebook for the day!

Such a great loss at a pivotal time in this country. All we can do is carry on and keep fighting. Because we are in for a fight of our lives.

I saw this on Twitter. I’m not sure if it’s accurate, but I thought it was a nice tribute too. Muslims have a belief that to pass on the day of Friday prayers is a blessing. We ALL honor her greatness and the fairness with justice she bestowed upon us all. Oh, that’s a lovely tribute too. ❤️ Yes, it was. I’ve always liked him

I had to look at who else was in the Supreme Court snd their ages. Several more may step down in the next four years so this election is even more important. I couldn’t believe the fist bumping snd high fives going on about her death. It’s disgusting within hours of her death well it would have been even today but the lack of humanity is beyond me. No surprise at all though they they will try and force this through in the next few weeks.

My heart aches for American women. My heart aches for all women, LGBTQ people, non-Christians and more because the setbacks about to come will resonate through the world, too. They will empower other dangerous regressive movements. They will harm far beyond the USA. I hope RBG was able to let go of the weight of the responsability she was carrying when she was on the precipice and felt she'd very soon leave this world. I hope she was able to be only a private citizen, Joan Ruth, not RBG, as she was realising this was her time to go, and focus fully on the love and comfort her family was giving her. For anyone wondering what's next, the guys from the American law podcast Opening Arguments stopped recording their usual episode as the news broke, took 15min to mourn the loss and support each other and then started recording a What Now? episode (originally called "Fuck Everything") straight away. Lawyer Andrew Torrez outlines what will happen next and at the end of the episode reveal his two likely picks (depending on the strategy Trump chooses). It's very revealing and frankly scary. Torrez guessed both Gorsuch and Kavanaugh correctly so he's definitely a law specialist voice to listen to right now. My heartfelt condolences to all Americans mourning this great and terribly timed loss.
