i mix the pocket pages with my regular layouts, they are definitely harder for me to finish but maybe its bc I dont buy PL products. Ive just been making my own inserts with regular scraps

I gave up a l-o-n-g time ago. However I do like the look and do it more as a "project" than regular scrapping. The problem is people started making PL way more that it was originally intended, and compared to those pages, a simple flat card just did not look the same.
However, the embellished card pages were the ones I was attracted to. So now it is only a project, and do those only when I want to. And if I don't do one for weeks....I'm good with that.

caangel - thanks for sharing that blog post!
Personally, I use the divided protectors and all the various PL type supplies to scrap my family. I typically scrap events, holidays and vacations, etc. No daily/weekly or monthly layouts for me. Life is busy and using divided protectors and preprinted cards just speeds up the scrapbooking process for me.

I love the original concept of Project Life but in a monthly format for all those photos that I would otherwise probably not print or have anywhere to put, however, I'm a year behind at least. I still want to do it but obviously it's not that important to me or I would! I do think most people (including me) make it harder than it should be! I find that unless you print at home, PL as we all think of it is hard to do.

You are not alone ! I tried PL for the first time this year - doing a monthly spread. I finally decided in August that I hate it ! I will finish this year - just because I am like that - I like having some random stuff documented, but can't for the time and effort of the pockets, the journaling and the mini embellishments. I already use the Collect app - and Evernote to journal - I think I might just print out those and shove in my albums somehow. I use pocket pages all the time to add extra photos to LOs, but with far less embellishments.

I've crashed and burned at PL. My problem i think is unique to me and my disorganization. I had a REALLY hard time keeping track of what photos were what week. I'm trying to do monthly layouts now, in hopes that that might help but the whole thing just stresses me out.
