Lindsey just aired a free campaign solicitation on Fox News.
Isn't that illegal?
Oh, who cares anymore. No consequences for Republicans.

How do I donate to his competition Jaime Harrison for SC
Jaime Harrison is awesome. He would make a fantastic Senator for our state. Lindsey Graham is a craven, spineless, opportunist. I love seeing him sweat. Yup, I hate your guts, Graham. So much so I just made my very first political donation. Thanks for the link!

Just donated. Then gave more money to Biden.
I figure they’re getting my restaurant and coffee shop money.

Let me add that I am an avid supporter of legally limiting campaign spending. We have become a country where it is possible to buy a political seat, simply by spending overwhelming amounts of money on campaigns. The amounts of money - on both sides - spent on political campaigns is obscene in a country where substantial numbers of people are without healthcare, are hungry, are homeless. But, it seems as if all interest in passing legislation about it died with John McCain. So, for this election cycle at least, Dh and I will do our parts to counteract big business as recommended by @zingermack and, like AmeliaBloomer donate a good portion of the money we haven’t spent on Starbucks, eating out, and going to the movies since the pandemic started.

Sing it, sister. The death of campaign refinance is something that gives me pause every time I donate, including today. So, in this, I agree with the president: It is what it is.

I hate it too Elaine. But we have to use the system to change the system. Buy some less selfish, less narcissistic legislators who will make changes to the law to get us a shorter, public-funded election season. Or we can keep doing what we've always done and keep getting what we've always got.

Too bad, so sad.
That inspired me to donate to Jaime Harrison along with my normal payday Act Blue contributions.

I think our campaign finance system is horrendous. That being said, I've taken to rage donation as a means of coping. I hope Graham goes down.

"This money is because they hate my guts." poor darling--If everyone hates your guts, maybe you ought to change your ways, huh? Either that or stop running for office! I am honored to have just made my first political donation 😃

Well, gee, Lindsey, I wouldn't want to just GIVE you money. You need to work for it! Pull yourself up by your bootstraps! If I just give you money, you might get lazy, and you wouldn't like that.
You can thank me later, Linds. This will be good for you. You're welcome!

I saw a meme about Mitch, but it applies for Lindsey too:
I'd unplug his ventilator to charge my phone.

Me too. If Lindsey could lose it would scare the living shit out of the GOP. And they MIGHT start paying attention to the power of the voters.

It has helped me in terms of having hope for ethics and the constitution and that not all people are Party over country assholes. BUT an organization like that can keep the fundraising dollars they haven't spent for the 'next' election and I'm not sure i'll always see eye to eye enough with the LP to give them my money. It seems to me they have more money than i do anyway ( as a group and individually ) I do not donate to politics often or a lot of money but when I do I donate directly to a campaign

I've never donated to a political campaign before, but as a relatively new resident of SC, I donated to this one the other day. We can't get rid of Graham soon enough!!

Somehow I missed this. Boo-freaking-hoo Mr Whiny Smug-face. Boo-freaking-hoo. As soon as my CC gets out of jail (see my post from yesterday in the vent thread) I'll be making a donation. I love that I live in a state that's so blue I am able to spend my money donating to other state's elections I'd love to see the percentage of OOS donations made to both Graham and McConell's opponents. And as an aside, I'm with Elaine. Let's cap campaign donations across the board.

He's a strange case. I lived in SC for many years, so am pretty familiar with LG. When he was 21, both of his parents died and he took on guardianship for his 13-year-old sister, which is a pretty decent thing to do. He joined the military and served his country. Obviously, there was once a sliver of a decent person somewhere in him, but something happened somewhere along the way to turn his soul into the dark, foul, convoluted mess it is now. It literally reminds you of one of those old stories about a person who sells his soul to the devil or something. I would vote for a bowl of oatmeal before I'd vote for him. Maybe if he's defeated, he'll have some time to figure out how he lost his way so absolutely.
