Hey everyone! Tomorrow, I will be hosting "Dress Up with Me Monday." This will be our 6th time and what fun it has been! I have really enjoyed it and enjoyed hearing your uplifting experiences. Bookmark this thread if you are interested! How does this dress up thing work???
Pick at least one or more of your favorite things to wear- clothing, accessories and/or shoes. Also it could be wearing your fav make-up or styling your hair. Wear it Monday 9/28/2020 Leave a comment here and tell us what you wore and how you felt. You can share pictures if you want, but only it you want. Join me tomorrow and have fun wearing your joy for the full day or even an hour! Whatever works for you.  |

I wore my nice blouse today with some tassel earrings and it felt good. I needed the lift today and they sure helped. I hope you enjoyed wearing your joy today, too.

I wore a favorite pair of capri length jeans today (it's very warm for end of September!) Not only did they fit (slightly surprising) but i'm wearing another pair today! I can't remember the last time i've worn jeans two days in a row  |

I totally forgot to check in yesterday. The weather cooled way down here, so I wore nice jeans (I've been wearing sweats) and pulled out a long-sleeve top that makes me feel good about myself. I even got a comment about being "dressed up" during my morning Zoom call. |

This is such a positive fun thing to do, and I thank you for that, kellyr21 .  Yesterday I had several errands to run, and as much as I'd LIKE to say I did my hair, makeup, wore earrings, a cute outfit, etc. I just didn't have the energy. I KNOW that looking nice again would be a great BOOST after this lonnnng pandemic, but I haven't done it...yet! I used to be that gal who neverrrr went out without full makeup. The hair didn't HAVE to be great, (although that is a bonus), but as long as the makeup and my outfit were nice, it was cool. I can't remember the last time i've worn jeans two days in a row LOL!!!!!!! soo true !!!! Just change mine to "wear REAL clothes" two days in a row Now that Fall is here (OMG, I LOVE FALL AND WINTERRRR!!!).... I want to wear my cute Fall boots and outfits, and scarves !!!!!!!! |

I'm going to post a pik if I can. Having tech issues. P.S....I'm also gonna post some of my "DREAM SHOES!!!!" I call them that because as much as I LOVE them, I physically can't wear them anymore. Oh well, I'm grateful for alllll the years I DID wear gorgeous heels, flats, and boots!  |

LOL....STILL trying to find the pik of a great Fall top that I got two years ago!!!! In the meantime, this image of my sweet baby girl came up.  Since this is a thread about dressing up, I'd like to show you just ONE of precious Sophie's outfits!!!! I always joke that she had nicer clothes than Mommy (she is the tiny puppy in my avatar pik). She died at age nine back in June, and wow----we miss her.  |

I love Sophie’s outfit! I missed out yesterday. My cousin had a house fire & I was helping with the clean up/aftermath. No nice clothes allowed! Today became my dress up day instead. I wore a light weight, shortsleeve dress in fall colors with sandals. It is still pretty warm in New England. I even got a few compliments when I went to the post office. I told the woman standing 6’ ahead of me in line about “Dress Up With Me Monday”. She’s going to try to get some friends & coworkers doing it too! This may become “a thing”!!!!

I got it a Walmart and paid less than $10. I got two this one and one in cream. Love it. Also, I love the tassles so I wore tassle earrings, too. After last night’s fiasco of a debate, I’m dressing up everyday this week. It does make me feel better and I desperately need to feel better. Tomorrow’s outfit will be moss green linen pants with a dressy white cotton blouse. I’m trying to decide which scarf to add for a pop of color. Will also wear flats since I’ll be running lots of errands for my cousins as they deal with the insurance adjuster and various contractors all day tomorrow.
Thanks for introducing this positivity Kelly! I never would’ve come up with the motivation to do it on my own. You’re one special pea! 😘

kellyr21 ----Yipppeee !!! A PIK, finally! LOVE that top !! hmp ....Good for you, and I TOTALLY need to do that, too! I KNOW that looking nice again will help me with my "pandemic fatigue!" Annd, here is the one I was raving about the other day that I wanted to post after reading Anita 's post about getting complimented. This beauty was also from good ole' "Wally World" (in 2018) and it was probably 12 dollars at the most !!! It's the one I mentioned getting MANY compliments on! I still love it and was happy to wear it out on my errands the other day when it was FINALLY cool enough !!!!!! I also bought one that year for my best friend's birthday gift, and she loved hers, too. The bell sleeves make me think of Stevie Nicks, and my friend and I are both singers, so we sang several Fleetwood Mac songs when she opened it.  This is just ONE example of my "DREAM shoes".....ugh, I cannot wear cute shoes like this anymore, but I'm obsessed and in LOVE with them!!!!

Scrappintoe, just looking at those shoes made my feet hurt! I was never very good in the high heels department when I was younger. Now I’d just fall over & break my ankle... That’s a really pretty top. I’ve been too nervous to go into stores like Walmart or target since covid. I’m going start looking online. After you & Kelly posted I realized I only have 3 blouses with any kind of pattern on them. Somehow I got seriously stuck in an only solid color tops rut. I need to change that because those patterns are so pretty!

I don't go anywhere to dress up! Yesterday I worked the flu clinic outside in the car park and I wore my ancient Hi-Vis coat from my days of ambulance work literally a generation ago. It fell to bits around me. The fluorescent yellow coating on the inside of the fabric disintegrated and let the rain in, and when I got home 9 hours later, the only dry bits of me were my feet.
I'm sorry, that's a pathetic, failed attempt at re-wearing something new and previously loved, but hopefully it makes you smile.
