I hadn't seen that. Thank you! However, if they are trying to hide the his worsening condition, someone else could have tweeted that. It seems like a pretty short tweet for trump. All words spelled correctly with no extemporaneous capitalization. A real argument could be made that he didn't write it.

ROFL! So bitchy and so good. We’re all going to hell. I'm already in a rather large handbasket headed that way - I'm happy to make room for y'all! Is there an express hand basket? A deal that your ride is free if you bring 12 friends?

Doc Lena Wen questioning the compressed timeline between testing positive and onset of moderate symptoms and administration of meds. I think he is benefiting from being president. They’re going to throw everything at his covid to make sure it doesn’t get worse. If it was you or me, we would not be so fortunate. We would not get an experimental drug (shown to have very good results, BTW) on Day 2 of our symptoms...

I feel like I have a gauge in my brain that regulates when a tweet or smartarse comment steps over my personal “taste” line.
But reading this thread, I find that by the time that part of my brain has clamped down, another part of my brain has already instructed me to burst out laughing.
Handbasket, indeed.

KellyAnne Conway is also positive. Her recent link to him is the Rose Garden event. The list is going to grow today. I don't wish death on him at all but I hope he aches from head to toe.

Doc Lena Wen questioning the compressed timeline between testing positive and onset of moderate symptoms and administration of meds. So many questions... More Info wood be helpful. Based on the statement that he is panicking about the symptoms, I would speculate that it isn’t really that bad now but they are trying everything to make him worry less and because he is POTUS. However, my teenage sister has a friend whose parents are in their 40’s. Mom got sick and the whole family got tested. All but the dad were positive. A day later dad got very sick and ended up having to be air lifted to a hospital. He died a day or two later. Last week my mom’s cousin (73yo) was with family on Saturday. Monday he started getting sick and by Monday night he was in the hospital. He died 24 hours later. So, it isn’t out of the possibility that he could be very sick very quickly.

Yeesh, they’re dropping like flies. So much can be traced to behavior and choices. I just read a Politico article about “MAGA World” responses to the president’s diagnosis. This one stands out: She wonders why Republicans are getting the virus but makes sure to debunk the obvious answer - masks, presumedly precautions - as a Democratic lie? Huh. There’s just so far you can stretch that China assassination thing, sister. What’s left to explain it? And QAnon-ers have seen A MESSAGE (!) in Trump’s diagnosis tweet. The word “together” means “to get her.” Yep, Hillary Clinton. A former Breitbart News WH correspondent “summarized the simplest message: ‘Send prayers and good thoughts, and talk about how vile the Democrats are.’” www.politico.com/news/2020/10/02/maga-world-blame-adulation-trump-covid-425624

One party respects it. One party spends all their time questioning it, when they're not calling it "a tool of satan". No. I don't wonder AT ALL. You can't gaslight a pandemic.

You can't fix stupid. (But you can vote it out) It is just so frustrating. These folks are all going to get premium medical care that we pay for, while having downplayed the dangers to regular tax paying folks, who can’t access the same level of care. Regular folks who would stay home if they could afford to, but are out serving these people in restaurants and at groceries, because they have to do so, since these exact same people won’t extend unemployment benefits. These folks will make headlines as they test positive, but we won’t know the names of the people who didn’t have the same choices these powerful people do, but who test positive too.

And they talk derisively of the “Nanny state.” Methinks we need a new term... the “Au Pair state?”

I have thoughts like this too - going back and forth about both the service it does the public to have so many famous/newsworthy people get sick at 1-2 events (Rose Garden, Debate Prep mtg.) and angry and heartbroken that they will get much better medical treatment than the rest of us. Hopefully this puts to bed the stupid speculation that Sturgis or outdoor college parties were/are a-okay because “you can’t spread Coronavirus outdoors.” Here’s the proof you CAN get it outdoors if you don’t practice social distancing and/or don’t wear a mask (Tillis actually wore a mask at the Rose Garden, but he was shoe horned into his seat along with everyone else). The deniers will have a hard time continuing on their path when it is all the news is talking about as top GOP member after GOP member tests positive. And then I too am filled with rage that the 205,000+ already dead are nameless and unimportant to them. I hate this virus and I detest the national response - or lack thereof - to it.

So that they can install a Supreme Court justice against the popular will to reduce health care access!

And a THIRD GOP senator on the Judiciary Committee has tested positive - Ron Johnson.
You know that if the shoe was on the other foot and it was a Democratic President & Senate trying to push through a nomination - the GOP would claim that this was a “sign from G-d” that they shouldn’t go ahead with the nomination.

What do you all think about this? Could be true, could be photoshopped. It doesn’t matter to me even if it is genuine. What happens over the next week or two while Trump is in the hospital will reveal how serious his case is.

The remdesivir surprised me. I figured they'd be giving him platelets of previously infected patients, but a non-insignficant number of the patients in the remdesivir trials had side effects in the trials and stopped treatment. Now the average time of treatment from onset of symptoms was also 9 days and the patients were quite sick. But it still surprised me.
