Welcome to this fun dress up challenge! Tomorrow, I will be hosting "Dress Up with Me Monday." This will be our 9th time and what a mood boosting and fun experience this has been. Wear your joyful clothes whether you are at home or going out. THIS IS FOR YOU!  How does this dress up thing work???Pick at least one or more of your favorite things to wear- clothing, accessories and/or shoes. Also it could be wearing your fav make-up or styling your hair. Wear it Monday 10/19/20
Leave a comment here and tell us what you wore and how you felt. Share pictures if you like of your outfit or you and your fav thing. There are 7 people in our organization - 3 other women. We all have a gray zip up hoody and various teeshirts with our organization name One day last week all four of us had on the hoody and jeans. We needed a change. I wore nicer jeans and a sweater last week. All 3 of them told me how nice I looked and that felt so nice. I told them I was doing this thing called Dress Up With Me Monday with “my friends” and so we started it at work. I need to text them all tonight and remind them.

It’s been cold and snowing here for days, so tomorrow I’m going to quit fighting it and pull out some of my pretty sweaters ... I’ve been wearing yoga pants and sweatshirts and feeling cranky, so it’s time to find some real pants, put on a sweater and accept that winter is here!

Here is my outfit for today. I wore this dress in one of our early DUWMM's and decided to wear it again. I love the color and style. Plus, this dress and earrings all make me smile. Since I am at home I will be rocking my tennis shoes, too. I had a tough weekend and I really need to wear something happy today! I can't wait to see what you all decided to wear. Good morning!
Over the weekend I crocheted a few ear savers to wear with masks, so my version of dressing up will mean one of those with my work uniform. I used leftover multicoloured yarn from a pair of gloves I made for my little cousin when she was 9 - bright pink, turquoise, yellow and orange. Most of it will be under my hair but I'll know it's there.

My heat broke down overnight, so today I wore my favorite (& warmest) sweat pants in teal with my favorite PINK sweatshirt over my favorite PINK tee and my favorite PINK socks. The pink in honor of Kelly! And all that pink did make me feel better.
And the best part of my day? I went to the post office and ran into the lady again. SHE WAS DRESSED UP! She’s got her best friend & 2 co-workers doing Dress Up With Me Monday! So Dress Up With Me Monday is officially a thing!!!!! Kelly you are officially a trendsetter outside of 2 peas! How cool is that!

Hi I have to go out for lunch tomorrow with BFF and need to look nice. Can I still wear black jeggings and a nice sweater maybe? I can wear my suede ankle boots and makeup. Will that be ok. We are going to a nice Chinese restaurant and it’s a dress up place. Please help me. I saw some clothes I liked at the drugstore (very high end like Guerlain and Chanel). I think that will be ok.

I was home all day, which is typical of my 2020. I knew I’d be cleaning, so I wore sweats and a l.s. tee (yes, both thrifted) but just for y’all, I added this bizarre vintage bracelet as my nod to Dress Up Monday. We’re out of space for photos but Etsy obliged with a few listings. Yes, those are images of Don Quixote tilting at windmills and such. And the man’s head itself dangles and makes a pleasing little tap tap sound when scrubbing the kitchen floor. [If there could possibly be a weirder part of my story, it’s that I bought the bracelet at a flea market about 20 years ago and about ten years later my SIL bought me the same exact one for a Christmas gift. She was so pleased she’d found something so unbelievably unique for vintage-ie me. (No, I didn’t tell her; I gave the first one to a friend.)  |

kellyr21 .....You and your dress are sooo pretty!!! Did you draw your scrapbook page? CUTE !!!  I used to love drawing faces and fashion---especially big, Cinderella-esque wedding gowns. I'll share a pik of my drawings sometime. AmeliaBloomer .....Cool bracelet, and I was trying to imagine wearing that while cleaning! Also----coincidence alert----I have had "The Impossible Dream" on my mind for two dayyyyssss !!!!!! I was bingeing "Grace and Frankie" the other night, and Martin Sheen sang it beautifully. It brought back nice memories of trying to learn to play it on my flute in seventh-grade band class, too. Great song, but I'm just SICK of it being stuck on my mind !!!! hmp....Omg, that same lady, AGAIN?  How fun! Also, I am inspired by your fun outfit (please share piks if possible!), and I NEED to wear something cute again, AND do my hair and makeup again! I know it'd make me feel better! Would it count as "dressing up" if I dug out my fave winter-ee, warm pajama pants and my Mona Lisa holding a Bulldog shirt ?

I dressed up today! I had a zoom meeting tonight so it was real clothing instead of my gym clothes. It was a rare occurrence to have buttons and a waistband!

I forgot to upload my outfit from yesterday. One of the reasons I fell into the habit of jeans and hoodies at work, other than because that’s what we all wear, is because I haven’t shopped for new clothes in forever. And with Covid, I haven’t been in stores or had a need to shop for new clothes while at home. So in addition to wearing my thrifted clothes, I’m also pulling out old stuff I haven’t worn in ages and making it new again. My jeans are from Plato’s Closet and were $12. They’re one of my favorite pairs. And I bought my boots over ten years ago. I hardly ever wore them. I also put on a pair of macrame earrings that I was sure wouldn’t make it long with my mask, but I had no trouble with them. Shirt from the sale rack at Altar’d State for $15. Crazy eyes because I was trying hard to focus on my phone without glasses.  |
