Happy end of the week. Woohoo. Today we'll visit mil and bring her treats. Then I'll be working on my puzzle while dh installs a new kitchen faucet.
What's on your menu?
Wishing all of you a really great weekend. I hope you have fun, relaxation and can truly be happy.

Dh took a phone call for work at 6:30 this morning. Since his office is in our bedroom, I was up. So I quickly showered and headed out to do grocery shopping. I was back home by 9:30. I do love when I get an early start but man, I'm kind of tired now and it's only noon. LOLOL
No plans this weekend other than a few things around the house. Dd's have to quarantine due to exposure to someone covid positive so I'll probably take them night driving a bit to get them out of the house. Don't worry - we don't go anywhere. Just drive for a while, they switch drivers and we come back. We have about half of their night hours in and we're down to about 3 weeks before they have their written test. It has to be all done by then so we need to get moving.
Dinner tonight is turkey cutlets, some sort of pasta, and green beans.
Have a great weekend ladies!!!

scrapmaven I hope you have a great weekend, but you forgot to tell us what's for dinner! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) I am so looking forward to the weekend. The best thing about Covid is that I don't have to apologize for having a weekend at home of just crafting. I love that. Tonight's dinner will be sesame chicken. I've found a recipe for this dish that has a cucumber/carrot/rice vinegar dressing sort of side salad. That sounded good to me.

TGIF! I am happy to report that we have rejoined the 21st century and have working indoor plumbing once again Told DH this morning it was so nice to use the facilities and not wonder if it was going to back up or not. Today I am waiting on the inspector to come and sign off. Once that happens they will begin to fill in the trenches and haul the rest of the old stuff away. We should be back on track with the landscaping next week.
My afternoon at the nail salon was so nice. I was able to just unplug and relax. Side benefit is that my hands and feet look/feel so much better. No real plans today, but I will try to finish hemming the new napkins for DD so she can get them this weekend. Still plugging away on my needlepoint ornament so will do some of that as well. It's kind of nice to not have a looming deadline for any current projects right now.
No idea what dinner will be. Last night we ended up ordering take away from the neighborhood pizza place. DH had the pizza/soup special, while I had the gyro. Great food but no rechauffe for tonight. Hopefully inspiration will strike before time to eat.

I was having a pretty good day, until I got on facebook. Someone I love wrote this:
Phew, thank God nobody is dying from cancer, heart attacks, violence, car accidents, diabetes, drug overdoses, fires, strokes, suicide, or even old age. Nope, everyone is dying from covid19. Isn't that amazing???
I'm not sure how to react to that. Maybe I'm just too sensitive when it comes to COVID19 because I have had loved ones that have been deathly ill or died from it. Wanted to respond but decided to just leave it alone.
Anyway, the rest of the day I am going to relax, color and watch a movie.
Tonight we are having boneless chicken thighs with vegetable lo mein.

I had a rather busy day today. First, my German convo class which I had to leave a few minutes early so I could get to After School care. We had a full complement today - 13 kids to start, and only a few went home at 1pm and 2pm, so we still had 9 with us to the end. Fortunately, the weather was on our side again, so we took them outside to the playground for the final hour. We have one week to go until fall break, and I can see the kids are so ready for it to be here. I also had a phone call from ne of my co-workers. She works Wed/Thurs, and is considering if she wants to step back to one day, or stop altogether, as she has had a number of health issues lately. She wanted to see if I would be willing to take on the day she drops before she approaches our coordinator. I would be fine with one day, but not sure I want to take on 2 days if she drops our completely.
Dinner tonight is smoked salmon and goat's cheese pizza. I have the pizza kit ready, and the pizza stone is heating on the grill. Just waiting for DH to get home to cook.

Hello lovelies! Dd ended up at the ER yesterday and has cellulitis again. 😭😭😭😣
They wonder if it never went away previously. Same side, about an inch up from the previous infection. Ugh.
I feel bad and blame myself though I do everything right.
Dd is on oral and topical antibiotics. She got a double dose in the ER to get the ball rolling.
Tonight is vegetable pot pie! Trying a different gf recipe for the pie crust.
Also serving chilled whole cranberry sauce.
Might make muffins too.
Ds is done with school and already met with his 1:1 teacher. I make Friday's fun days for both of us. I mean the other days are fun, but Friday's are super fun.
I need to do some chores today. And run 2 errands. Pick up craft paint and brushes and take the dogs to their spa day to get clean.

I'm just hanging out today trying to recover from whatever "bug" I have ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/G0Qxztyjs53n1ic_fEBG.jpg) I'll be speaking to my sub in a couple of hours to help him plan for the three days he's working for me next week ... I have no idea what he should do ... ugh! I'm kind of craving grilled cheese with tomato inside for dinner so that could happen

Wanted to respond but decided to just leave it alone. Nope, you're not too sensitive. There are people I will never look at the same way again after this virus. And then when you read something like that, it's just shocking. Hugs. Hello lovelies! Dd ended up at the ER yesterday and has cellulitis again. 😭😭😭😣 They wonder if it never went away previously. We don't even know you in real life but we know enough to know that you are always doing your best to maintain good health for your kids.

Good morning almost afternoon here. Not much going on here today. Very cold day here at a high of only 34 with it currently being 27. Brrr! I might work on nephew's books a bit as I'm almost done with them. In the reconciliation process. He has had a lot on his plate lately and it shows in his receipts, so I have a slew of questions for him. marianne Just yesterday, I thought to myself that fish sticks sounded really good. I use to eat them all the time with Cajun spice sprinkled on them and then quit eating them because I was trying to watch carbs, but have put them on my shopping list. Yummy. We usually do take out/delivery on Fridays, so not quite sure what it will be. Either BBQ or Chinese are on my radar. Nothing really exciting in my neck of the woods. Can be good and bad. ha! Wishing everyone a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

DH and I went down to the historic district of the town just west of us for a walk around the downtown and the streets with lovely Victorian houses. I had a book to pick up at the library that is a few blocks away so it was a *kill two birds* kind of thing. High 50's so it was delightful!
I need to go to Raley's to stock up for the weekend so I'll decide on dinner ~ maybe the yummy Chicken Lombardy!
TGIF!

Fish sticks. <sighs fondly> I loved fish sticks. I haven't had anything battered or crumb coated since I had to go gluten free.
I'm having a wild rice, mushroom and beef soup for lunch; I threw it together yesterday afternoon. I made stuffed peppers with some of the rechauffe left in the fridge for dinner last night. I plan on more rechauffe tonight, but could be easily talked into pizza or Jersey Mike's sandwiches.

Does cornmeal have gluten?

Dinner will be veggie sheet pan dinner. If DH grumbles about no meat on his plate, I have some salmon I can add.
LONG week at school. We dressed up in different themes every day this week and for some reason I find that exhausting by the end of the week.
@sunnycamom, I honestly don't know how you deal with all the "excitement" in your life. Good, calm vibes coming your way.

I had the best day!! Started off with long mandatory zoom meetings but ended up with lovely surprise visit from both my boys. I haven’t seen them in ages-like since February . We had a wonderful socially distanced picnic. They both are either working or on school out of town and mindful of not wanting to share the virus. It’s been hard on me so having them both just show up... I cried.
Anyway, dinner is left over chicken and green beans. No more inspired than yesterday, but will taste fine.

From Lay's website-- "Since many of the company's snacks, such as Lay's Classic potato chips and Fritos Original corn chips are made from simple ingredients like corn or potatoes, they are, and always have been, naturally made without gluten ingredients."

There is rechauffe pizza, so that’s what I’ll be eating tonight. Tomorrow I’ll be with my two childhood friends for a backyard visit, so whatever we pick up. We figure this is our last outdoor visit before the weather gets cold. @sunnycamom, I’m sorry your DD has cellulitis again. Wishing her a quick recovery. anxiousmom, I cried, too, when I read about your boys surprising you. So sweet. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/W4b_Om5roEadLiOzGo_l.jpg)

bklyngal62, I'm just avoiding FB for now and life is much more pleasant. People are either panicking about COVID or posting political rants. Frankly, I subscribe to neither thing. I completely understand your feelings. @sunnycamom, you must be exhausted after more ER time. I really hope things calm down for your family. destined2bmom, I read about fibroscans in order to understand a bit of what you're enduring. I hope that you can enjoy your weekend and distract yourself rather than worrying about what ifs.
