Tazhiana Gordon and Krystal Idunate launched a new podcast this week called The Scrappy Sisters. Info here. I subscribed but haven't yet listened. Just a heads up to anyone who might be interested! Also, what are some other good scrapbooking or crafting podcasts?

Thanks for the reminder, I haven't listened to many podcasts recently because I've stopped commuting.
I really like the scrapbook.com podcast; I'll have to try the rest. I also have old episodes of the Paperclipping podcast downloaded. Someone on here shared a link to them about a year or so ago and I downloaded the entire batch!

Thanks! I’ll check it out.
I normally can’t listen the Exactly Enough Time, but see there is a recent one titled Stupid Easy Workflow. I’m always interested in digital photo management trips, so I’m going to try to listen to that episode.
The rest are always hit and miss with me.

I went to watch The Scrappy Sisters. They didn't have any pictures? I guess the idea is to listen to them talk about a tool or a procedure, pause, then do a Google search to see what they are talking about. Or it's just 2 BFF's talking.

It's a podcast, like a radio show but on the internet and you can listen when ever you want. I haven't listened this show yet but scrappy podcasts are usually about chatting and sharing thoughts about crafting. While sometimes a visual maybe useful, it isn't usually necessary. They are not typically walking you through a project or technique like a YouTube video.

Yeah, but there should be pitchers! Think of it as an opportunity to do something else with your eyes and hands while your ears are busy. You can draw your own pictures, and then you can add them to your Project Life album. Or you can set it to play in the background while you de-clutter that basement of yours. Picture clean table tops in your head

Thanks for the reminder, I haven't listened to many podcasts recently because I've stopped commuting. Right?! I used to get through so many podcasts and audiobooks while commuting. And now... nothing. I generally listen to music while scrapbooking, but after listening to The Scrappy Sisters, I thought it might be fun to put some scrapbooking podcasts in the mix. It's a new genre to me. I'm generally all about storytelling and interview podcasts (This American Life, Serial, The Moth, How I Built This...).

Yeah, but there should be pitchers! It's fairly standard for podcasts to have show notes on their websites. The Scrappy Sisters do as well, with links to the things they discuss in each episode. I saw there pictures of Krystal's early scrapbooks, too. Check it out.

I hope everything is going well with these two. It’s been awhile since they released a podcast and Tazhi has been so quiet on Instagram. I have enjoyed their fresh voices in the scrapbook podcast space.

So Krystal announced that she was leaving the podcast and their Mighty Network. She’s going to Patreon. Its good for her, but bad for me, as I probably won’t follow her Patreon.

I wonder if they had a falling out or if they just decided to go their separate ways. I did enjoy the podcast but it's a lot of work to do all the things that they both were doing and I'm betting one of them got burnt out or is stressed and busy with work (one of them being Tazhi). Krystal seems to have a very regimented approach to getting all her things done and Tazhi doesn't seem to have that.

She was on like all the design teams last year. I miss seeing her work! I really wish that the design teams were more diverse across the brands. We see the same people over and over again, and it leads to burnout. I am really missing scrapbooking podcasts. Very few are putting out content weekly. I like listening when I am cleaning the house and I am out of episodes.

Thanks for that update, I’m sad the podcast was so short-lived. I hope their seemingly close relationship survives this upheaval. This is just disappointing all around. I’ll miss the podcast and their interactions.

That's too bad. I enjoyed the couple of episodes I listened to. I wonder how many hours it takes to create & promote a podcast. I'd love more scrappy podcasts and still miss PCRT. I've always found it depressing none of the scrappy podcasts seem able to get sponsors where other podcasts I listen to have them. I suppose our little scrappy world is just too small to attract advertising dollars.

Also, Krystal doesn’t have any scrappy sisters mention in her bio and Tazhi still does. So Krystal did share a kit crush layout that Tazhi created. And it sounds like Tazhi is having a rough time, at least from her post she said she's seeing a therapist and working on her mental health and how her's has suffered lately. And it looks like she's all in with the fiber creations so that's taking a lot of time from her scrappy commitments. I agree there must have been some sort of falling out though, especially since Krystal cleansed her accounts of the Scrappy Sisters things.

I agree there must have been some sort of falling out though, especially since Krystal cleansed her accounts of the Scrappy Sisters things. That's the clearest sign of hardcore distanciation. If you're scrubbing selectively, you're actively removing to make your feed "forget". I vote for behind-the-scenes drama as well. Podcasting has exploded. I remember the days of 2014 when it was an amateur-ish landscape with a lot of room to grow and get good over time. The entry level is high now. Production, equipment, thematics and storytelling: you need to have all of it in place before testing the format out. There's very little room for roaming and figuring your shit out. I know that professional podcasters have extremely busy weeks even when the workload is well divided among the several members of the team and a sound engineer to do a proper first edit. For full-time indie podcasters (they write + produce + present), it's still more than 20h of input per hour of podcast you hear. And that 20:1 ratio is for indie podcasters who have been making their full-time living from podcasting for approximately 5 years now. That's peak productivity and knowledge for resolving common issues. However, it's important to note that in the scrapbooking sphere, there is very little competition. Compared with many other industries (looking at you, true crime), that's a luxury and true opportunity to succeed. There really is room to boom here but you'd need the time to put into it. A lot of time.

The problem is that I have yet find a scrappy podcast I enjoy. I might like some aspects, but then there's the piece that ruins it (Traci is a perfect example). It's a very professional podcast, and I enjoyed the first few episodes I listened to, and I enjoy Tiffany, but a little of Traci went a long, long way. And unfortunately, she likes to be front and center, the loudest voice in the room. Every other scrappy postcast ended up being boring.
I think Ali could have a successful podcast if she decided to go that route. Even though I don't scrap in her storytelling style, I enjoy hearing her talk about how she does what she does. Surprisingly enough, even though t wasn't a podcast, the video that Becky Higgins did on memory keeping I found very watchable with good tips. I think that type of content would make a good podcast.
