No matter where you stand politically, if you plan on scrapping this election, start your journaling to get it down fresh.
Jot notes down throughout the day.
Write your thoughts & feelings.
Take screenshots of news websites.
Take photos of the tv screen.

One thing you might want to add to your journal or PL is the front page of your favorite newspaper. You can find front pages here: www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/ and then download them as a PDF. I saved today's Washington Post front page for my PL. Also, I just saw this in NSBR - today we're "hopescrolling" instead of "doomscrolling" on social media today. At least that's how I feel!

Any ideas on how to follow this day for non-US Peas, ladies? With terrorist attacks and corona lockdowns in Europe, the US elections aren't yet making headlines here yet. I just feel a little left out! d ETA: Can we talk about La Opinión's front page? To the mothereffin' point!

I am doing a layout with photos of our I Voted stickers on, etc. I will include something about who we voted for and why, but I will not dedicate more than 1 page to the election. When President Obama was elected the first time I had gone to hear him speak, and that was 2 page spread, and one page on election day.
I likely will not journal feelings beyond either happiness or unhappiness.

Also, I just saw this in NSBR - today we're "hopescrolling" instead of "doomscrolling" on social media today. At least that's how I feel! I'm not scrolling at all! I don't want to be part of spreading misinformation or disinformation, so I'm staying away. I have done everything within my control, and no meaningful results will be available until late this night (maybe) or sometime tomorrow, so I don't need to be on the rollercoaster as things shift and people get outraged or worse. I've got my pearls and sparkly sweater (vaguely reminiscent of a dissent collar) on for RBG and I'm ready to settle down for some offline entertainment.

I'm staying away from the news all day. I've locked myself in our office/my craft space and told my husband not to knock unless he has excellent news.

mom - thank you - I'll check that out. I saved my I Voted sticker and I snapped photos of me, dh, and dd20 after we voted this morning. Journalling? I think that's going to depend on the results

I plan on including something about this election in my pl album even though I'm not in the US, as I've been watching it all day, rather obsessively given it's not my election. Normally I don't pay much attention to your elections, other than a "oh they won, that's nice", but this year feels completely different and I just want to record it.

In 2016, it went into my PL album. This year feels different and may get a full 12x12 page. It reminds me of the 2000 election. I was in college and scrapbooking the election never entered my mind. My big voting disappointment is the lack of “I voted” sticker! We were given pens which are hard to include on a layout.

I was just coming here to ask if anyone does layouts of current events. I typically just do family and kid stuff but lately feel like there is so much going on in the world, maybe I need to do a current events book.
If you have done this, what types of events have you scrapped?
ETA that I didn’t get an I voted sticker, either. Just a pen.

I will try to journal as we continue to count votes. But so far my journaling consists of F*&k written out a few dozen times

If you have done this, what types of events have you scrapped? Anything that I feel strongly about goes: politics + geopolitics, pandemic, terrorism, etc. I very recently scrapped about the 2020 Nobel prizes as well as the US election and the pandemic (+ new lockdown where I live). Scrapbooking is definitely *not* just happy personal/family memories for me. It's definitely a record of my life in the world and how the world impacts my life + wellbeing.

I didn’t get an I voted sticker, either. Just a pen. You guys got pens? Our county doesn't provide stickers or pens. Just universal mail-in ballots that will be counted early enough to "count" (fwiw, in a state that doesn't really count) and postage paid envelopes for said ballots. This year they also had self seal technology! No licking required. I have snagged myself some "I voted" stickers from various sources online, but this year I collected a bunch of pictures friends posted of dropping off their ballots in drop boxes. I need to remember to make the photo collage now.

Beautiful large scale photographs from The Wait (ahem) available on AP, ladies. Absolutely worth checking out if you plan on using non-personal pics to document the election. There's even a pile of my favourite French newspaper Le Monde in there! (I don't know why )

There's even a pile of my favourite French newspaper Le Monde in there! (I don't know why ) Those are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. The only picture I took last night was of my peanut butter cups. I will supplement that one with some of these. The last one is from my area (And where I pretend I am from since my side of the river is half imbeciles) , so that is really nice.

My neighborhood stores were looted, burned, etc.

I’ve been an anxious disaster since Monday evening. Finally managed a 36 hour fast. Ha!! As the tide began to turn I was so glad to have the PP election kit. Last week I also ordered the SC stamp set, thinking maybe some optimism was in order.
Anywho, I am really looking forward to documenting this insane election experience!
If anyone knows of a timeline documented anywhere, plmk! The last four days are a blur to me!
