How did I not know about this? I don’t really care for podcasts or news shows but this is an exception I would happily make. Have y’all watched the show they did for fundraising yet? Speaking of the West Wing, it keeps coming to mind again and again when it looks like Vinnick is going to lose to Santos and everyone is encouraging him to sue. He says, “I’ll either be a winner or a loser, but I won’t be a SORE loser.” Trump is already a sore loser and by no means has he lost yet. True story here. I had the amazing experience of staffing in a room when Bush 41 was addressing a small group and they were challenging him to be more, how to say it, "hip" like Clinton playing sax on the Tonight Show. 41 said his piece from his frame of reference basically saying he would not diminish the responsibility of "the office" by doing such things. Now granted, there was nothing wrong with playing sax on the Tonight Show. It was very connecting and human for a POTUS to do to connect with the electorate. But I do have to say, at that moment, I was struck at the reverence that 41 paid to his perception of the reverence the office of POTUS. Large part of why I just can't take Cheeto and his absolute bastardizing of the absolute privilege it is to be elected to it. AND a large part why I adore Bartlett and the West Wing series.
