Anyone here played animal crossing before, did other games have more villagers or capped at 10? There’s so many cute/quirky villagers I’m hoping we’ll be able to have more than 10 someday soon.

On my 9th mystery island trying to find a cute replacement for Static who asked to leave. Can't find anyone who "fits" with my cute cats and bunnies. I found a wolf, but wolves eat bunnies! And I found a bunny named Gaston but he definitely wasn't "cute". haha at me. hahahaha Right after I typed this, on the very next island I found Bam. Even if he is a jock (which I don't have, and there was a reason why I said I needed one but I forget what that reason was... ) he's very cute. And blue is my favorite color. And he's a deer so he fits into the Christmas theme. AND, he won't eat my bunnies for dinner!

You might need him for certain reactions and diys.

Last night I had the brilliant plan to TT to December 15 in game time and just stay there until the game go to December 24 then TT back to Dec 15 in the game then when it got to Dec 15 IRL just set the game to normal. I was all excited because then I would have snow and plenty of time to try to get DIYS and everything l but then this morning I realized I would never be able to visit anyone, right? I love visiting everyone’s islands, and I would miss that. I think Dilbert and I could still visit each other though if we used local play? That way my creatures wouldn’t be bored with just me. Hmmm, I love snow IRL and am so excited to have it in the game, I don’t really want to wait until the 15th to get it! I haven't caught up yet, but just in case no one answered in all the excitement of a newbie ... you can absolutely visit other Islands still. You'll just be on whatever day/time they are on. Same as visiting an Island in a different time zone. You just see whatever is "real" in their date/time, make sense? And if they come to your Island, they see snow!

Oh ok yes you would be all good. Main consequence is spolied turnips so just dont tt with turnips. For residents you may see a villager say things like where have you been. No one will leave. Someone may ask to move as per the usual timeframe as in they’d ask anyway if you were playing for 2 weeks and so then just say no. They aren’t asking to move because you tt and haven’t talked to them. I find when I tt I run around and talk to villagers more because I’ll tt to one day then another day and another day all within an hour or two and each time I move ahead a day I give them a wrapped assessed fossil eventually even a newish villager will give me their photo faster because within a couple hours I’ll have gifted many gifts as if it had been days of gameplay. Nice side effect of tt if you give them gifts each “new day”. Also look for diys on beach. They respawn each day you tt. And Ables clothes change so I always run and check for new cute clothes. 😍 Oh, I plan on just running the days out normally once I travel to the 15th! I did TT to the 15th, 16th, and 17th last night to get all the flakes from the snow boy and to get enough stuff to make each villager a winter or ornament wreath. I forgot to check the beach but I did get a bunch of snazzy new winter clothes! Don't give them their wreaths until you go back to December. They'll leave them a day or two and then go away. I was miffed when I realized that!!

I definitely won’t give them until I TT and stay though. Wait, do they hang them inside? I was hoping they would put them on their door. They are getting them either way, but how disappointing.

I want all of them too, but not if they were hacked. What do you mean by hacked? You mean from TT? Or is this something more nefarious? To me it's more "nefarious". lol. The holiday toys and some of the DIYs are time-locked. Unlike Halloween where we could time travel to the event to get the decorations such as the carriage, or the winter items, the holiday toys (and maybe some of the Thanksgiving stuff too, although I haven't paid attention to that as much) and some of the other items are locked until we get to that day in real time. So even if you TT travel there that stuff won't be available yet. So some people out there in internet land -- the ones who know how to do this sort of stuff -- have unlocked the holiday items. I have NO idea how, but then again I don't understand techie stuff... it's probably not hard for someone who knows how to do it. That unlocking is what the "hacking" part. I know the developers have specifically said that time travel is just part of how many people like to play the game (someone linked an article to a FB group, from a reputable source, that said that)....and the ability to time travel isn't locked to players. So that's fine. But when Nintendo puts the lock on it and then the hackers break in... well I'm too much of a rule follower to have that stuff right now. I feel like what if Nintendo found out somehow and banned my account? Maybe in the end Nintendo doesn't care about this sort of hacking since it doesn't really give anyone an advantage over anyone else. In the end this is an individual game. I guess I've just been playing Runescape (an online MMORPG) for too long now....those developers ALWAYS find out when anything like that happens and when they do that's the end of your account. But of course in a game like that having a hacked weapon would give someone an advantage since there is player-player combat. Anyway... that's just my thoughts on it.

Not sure, but I want allllll the puppies!!!! I’m obsessed! I want all of them too, but not if they were hacked. They are technically in the game already with the last update. So, not hacked in the full meaning of the word. They are just behind Nintendo lock/key right now. Some people just know how to make them appear (programming).

But if there's any wreath that uses those large snowflakes to make (I don't think there is)...well that would be awful to waste them! omg.

I was listening to a live stream the other day and apparently Nintendo hasn't stopped it in the past. Thye had locked down Bunny Days at the beginning, but then the 4th of July and Halloween weren't locked. People assumed that they didn't lock those Holidays to keep people from getting the items early via the "hacking". But them they locked these 2 Holidays. It's been a big topic on the live streams. People seem upset at the inconsistencies of the whole thing.

I know someone who works for Nintendo, I will ask them (without giving away any info) if accounts can be ended or not for something like this. I already gave Raymond the dog in his yard and the brown one is going in my graveyard scene in the Hm, but I won’t ask for any more. I can’t sell them to the brothers after giving them homes! Just out of curiousity is that how people open their islands and have all the diys and stuff for people to take? That seems like some thing Nintendo would want to shut down and I didn’t understand how they got all the diys and multiples of them, but that makes sense that they hacked the system.

Although for me, I'll wait for those. It's the Christmas stuff I don't want to wait for. We'll see what TT can get me before I find another way! 🤣 I totally agree! That's why I time traveled to get the Halloween carriage and table settings (which were not locked) ... I wanted to set them up *before* the holiday. Especially because I knew I'd want to take down all Halloween stuff the next day. lol. Personally I don't care about Thanksgiving, although I am looking forward to seeing the activities we have on that day. But for Christmas -- well there is a LOT you can TT for right now. There's "snowflake" stuff which takes normal snowflakes that you catch with a net. And there's "festive" stuff where the DIYs are in balloons, and that you make with the ornaments you shake from trees. These include the illuminated things such as the tree, gifts, reindeer, etc. -- Then there's the Snowboy stuff -- ice/frozen items. The DIYs come ONLY from the Snowboy, and only if you make him perfectly. Which is difficult! At least for me it is. The first one you make will be perfect and you'll think "oh this will be easy". But nope. That's just Nintendo's way of sucking you in. ugh. If you do make a perfect one you'll get a DIY and a large snowflake. He'll last for three days and on the subsequent days you can get another large snowflake from him, but the DIY is only on his first day. Anyway, there is a lot you can get ahead of time. And, if I knew that Nintendo didn't care about the hacked stuff I'd get that too.

Yes, ask your friend! I'll be interested to hear what he (or she...I suppose not all game developers are men, lol) says. I'm just a worrier. In my MMORPG, Runescape, the developers can look at your account, they can go right into your bank if they want...so they always discover stuff. lol. I have no idea if Nintendo can do that, and even if they care enough to do it.

That makes total sense. I figured they were in the shop when we TT. Like the pumpkin arch and lanterns during Halloween. They did have a special place for a 4th item when I TT last night, I Just figured they were from that or the regular wall. Yes, they are called Treasure Islands. I'm not sure how they do it either honestly. I've seen one person say they have a "modded" Switch. Whatever that means. I'm pretty much sitting on the bench with zookeeper ... I want all the things!! 🤣🤣🤣

Y'all! The dollhouses have an interior light that you can turn off and on! And the dinosaur toy switches legs! And the puppies...swoon!
