I think the craziest thing I have done to paper is burn it.. I burnt the edges around some wood paper to get that burn look on the edges. It worked.. lol
Then probably spending lots of time cutting some brochures or such to use in my books. One in particular, I went to a Celine Dion concert in Vegas when her show was new and bought some merchandise and got a really cool looking bag. I think I spent five hours cutting out the center of it.. it made for a great page for her concert... that was a lot of cutting.

Paper piecing by hand. I learned I lack the fine motor skills to make it look good.

We used to burn our edges years ago. I have also taken a gift bag from Pike's Peak and turned it into background paper and used maps as backgrounds. Can't think of anything else.

Hmmm. Probably tear it into pieces, blend it up into pulp, and then make my own handmade paper sheets. This was for stationery, not scrapbooking though.

Not really crazy, but back when it was a thing (cuz how else would I have gotten the idea?) I wet some 12x12 PP, scrunched it up, flatten it out and let it dry. Then I cut it up and used it to decorate a paper Easter egg.
We were having an egg decorating contest at work and I won first place and a paid day off. Yay me!

I tea-dyed paper. I wanted an antique look and this was a loooonnnggg time ago, probably 1996. I made some very strong tea, put it in a cake pan and put a white sheet of cardstock in it, soaked it for a while and let it dry. It turned out great. I believe I stamped on it.

I think I have done all of the above mentioned techniques at some point and still do, except the burning. I have altered paper by sanding, painttng and stenciling too. My latest was using it to pull prints off my Gelli plate.
