We always buy our dog Christmas gifts. He loves toys. This year we bought Christmas Loofa Dogs. I found a three pack of the small version. They are so cute! He’ll also get treats. I can’t put his gift bag under the tree until Christmas morning or he’ll help himself. LOL! I’m still looking for a warm sweater.
We also celebrate St. Nick. We put out a stocking for him & he gets a toy and treats.

I don’t. The dog will throw up if he gets too many treats (and besides, he needs to watch his weight), the bunnies don’t even care for carrots, and the pony is on a diet, too. (There will be lots of horsey gifts, but those are for DD).

Yup! At least one present under the tree and something in his stocking! So far I have a new sweater, a couple of treats and a new toy. He also is getting pjs that match the rest of the family. 😁
Looking for a new collar but haven't found one yet. My go-to Tuesday Morning didn't have any in his size last time I was there.

Yes. The cats don’t usually care, but they get some sort of hiding thing or bed which they will ignore for a month before they use it, They also get cookies and a special wet food dinner. When we had dogs we would wrap their presents in tissue so they could open them. We used to have two cats that liked to sleep on tissue paper so we would loosely wrap their presents so they could use the tissue paper. Our current 3 don’t like tissue though.
We had a rabbit and he got presents too. A new chewy or yogurt drops.
I will say dogs are much more fun to buy presents for.

Yes, I always buy something for my cat. My go to is usually some fancier than normal wet food, and this year she'll be getting a new bowl for her dry food that if I can find something I like. I usually wrap her presents and she likes them if there is lots of wrapping paper and some kind of dangly ribbon trim.

I did when I had a dog and cat. Now I have a parakeet and she doesn't seem interested in getting new toys. She is very particular about her routine sting just so and is very picky about what she will eat.

And we always buy her a couple of holiday cookies from our local small-business pet bakery/store. And she gets a new toy, her favorite one from Petsmart that has a lot of stuffing to pull out. lol She has a stocking of her own but of course we can't put it out on the couch until two seconds before we're opening gifts.

No. I make them a frozen kong, and they go in their crates while we open gifts because I have boys that will eat wrapping paper, etc.

Of course, she has her own Christmas stocking filled with toys and treats. I also buy Christmas presents for my boyfriend’s 3 dogs. They are tougher on toys than my gentle dog is so I always have to look for more rugged toys for them.

Warm, soft and a bit stretchy. goldpawseries.com/product/dfThey are a little expensive, but one of my friend's dog has one, and she said 3 years later the sweater is still in perfect condition. Edited to add, yes, we totally buy our dogs gifts.

Can anyone recommend a brand of shoe that will actually stay on dogs feet? Mine does like the cold on his paws anymore but nothing I get stays on

Usually a new coat and sweater and harness to get us through the winter months. And I make doggie treats for Tiffany and her friends. Sometimes we just wrap her favorite toy (at the time) a gazillon times in brown paper bags so she has something to unwrap with small pieces of kibble between the layers to keep her interested.

We get our dogs a few treats/toys in their stockings. Not too much as they have so many toys already and one doesn't play much with them. She prefers treats but she's fat and our other dog has a very sensitive tummy so can't eat a lot of the treats out there. So usually just one toy and one treat each. This thread reminds me that when growing up our dog (border collie) and cats were outside pets. We had a small pole barn and they had an entrance and inside a dog and cat house with hay to sleep in etc. My mom is allergic to cats and I don't know why the dog wasn't allowed in. But on Thanksgiving and Christmas my dad would feed the cats a can of wet food instead of their usual dry and the dog would get leftovers from our meal (turkey etc). Now my parents are older and about twelve years ago they got a Maltipoo. That dog lives inside, sleeps with my parents and gets people food (my dad makes it special for her, meat and rice) every single day!

I am co-fostering 2 kittens. I bought them the Trader Joe's advent calendar for cats. I can't wait to start on December 1.

Nope. The cat doesn’t play with toys and the horse has everything she wants.

DH went to the store with me a couple of days ago and picked them up to put them in the cart. I had to tell him that I already bought them. LOL They also get advent calendars. I bought them at Sam’s Club. $9.99 and they’re pretty large. Trader Joe’s has small ones, but I think you’ll get more for your money at Sam’s Club.

Aldi also has pet-specific advent calendars.
Bessie usually gets treats from my father-in-law, and we're thinking of getting her a cat tree (which I had to explain to my mother).

Yes, Emma loves presents. She’s getting some store bought treats, a new squeaky ball, and a new stuffed horse (our neighbor has real horses in the back pasture). Also, I rotate her toys out and will reward some old favorites. She loves sticking her nose into gift bags and gets in to present opening more than the kids. Since the kids can’t be here, Emma will have to be the one to entertain us.

All the animals have stockings that we fill with treats at the last minute so they don’t get broken into when we’re not looking. We always find the cheapest stuffed squeaky toys for Posie, whose mission is to destroy them while getting out the squeakers, and leave a bunch of fluff for me to clean up. l
