They have Blueberry for Oklahoma. That is so not right. Pumpkin, pecan or apple would be it.

Never in my whole life have I heard of a cranberry pie. Sounds dreadful.

Sweet potato pie? Not on your life. Pumpkin all the way.

Who the heck makes cranberry, blueberry, or strawberry pie for a Thanksgiving?? I’ve never even heard of cranberry pie!
We do chocolate cream and apple.

Never heard of cranberry pie before! My state is cherry and I don't think of that as a T-Day pie.

Well, based on the logic that frequency of a pie’s mentions on Instagram determines a state’s favorite pie, I’m guessing all the resultant “WTF is cranberry pie?” mentions will turn the electoral map completely Cranberry.
Solidarity, sisters.

Looks like Michigan is cherry? I've never heard of cherry pie for Thanksgiving. Pumpkin pie or apple pie is the norm. Although a friend just posted this morning that her family is having strawberry pie so who knows.

I live in VT and agree with the person quoted! What is a cranberry pie? Do cranberries even grow in VT? Lol
I do apple and pumpkin. This is how it’s always been.

They have Vermont as cranberry pie. I have never seen or heard of cranberry pie, or at least no one that I know has ever made/served it. I would say that Pumpkin would be the most common. I am not a big cranberry fan so I would pass on it even if we served it. 😄.
ETA - posting at the same time as ddly and I agree with her. Even though cranberries are grown close to us in Mass, “One-Pie pumpkin” is more New Englandish to me and so much better. 😄

My WV Dh does like cranberry pie. I’ve made it a few times and actually really like Apple-cranberry pie. I like tart pies, and cranberry fits the bill.
That said, I made pumpkin and pecan pie for Thanksgiving today. Those are our family staples here in VA. Although some years I will bake an apple pie (using tart apples) if my family requests it.
Even though the map says “sweet potato” for VA, I’ve never made a sweet potato pie. Whenever I’ve eaten one, they taste fairly indistinguishable from pumpkin pie, imo. Growing up in CA, it wasn’t thanksgiving without pumpkin pie.

They certainly got Texas right! They certainly did! That map is 'interesting'. For all the years I lived in KY, the only time I ever saw a strawberry pie was when we would eat at a Shoney's restaurant. Not sure where they got that from, especially in November!

I'm not too surprised at the cherry pie in Michigan. After all, we do grow a lot of cherries. (And apples and pumpkins)
When we had larger groups, there was always a cherry, an apple, and a pumpkin pie to choose from.

PA has sweet potato pie listed. While I made it once and it is good, I would say pumpkin or pecan, with an edge to pumpkin being more popular. As far as cherry pie, they are a summer fruit. Where are you getting cherries? The freezer?

Ewww, nope. I can't stand cherries. It is one of the few fruits I don't care for. And let's be honest, the only Thanksgiving worthy pie is from Village Inn. French Silk. Mmmmm.

Cranberry pie in Washingon - AKA the apple state? Yeah, no. Just no.
And my neighbor gifted us an apple pie this year but brought it over on Monday. It was gone by Tuesday. Life with boys... I was a little worried it wouldn't be as good this late in the week anyway.

I have lived in WA state my whole life and have never heard of cranberry pie. Yuck! I don't even like cranberry sauce so can't imagine a whole pie.

We always have a pecan pie, for sure. But I thought it would say sweet potato for SC. There is always a big sweet potato vs. pumpkin debate every year.

My state got it right on the map - pecan is the most popular here! Not my personal favorite, but it is for almost everyone I know.
I've never heard of cranberry pie.
We do a cranberry apple casserole at Christmas with chopped Granny Smith apples (leave the green peel on), cranberries, sugar and a little flour to thicken it - topped with oatmeal, brown sugar, flour, melted butter and chopped pecans. I guess you could do this as a pie, but why - it's perfect as is!

Pumpkin pie. That’s pretty standard at least. Also made a chocolate pie well I supervised DS making one this morning.
Never heard of a cranberry pie but Pioneer woman made one with leftover cranberry sauce and cherry pie filling that looked pretty good. It was a cobbler I think. That was the first time I had heard of cranberry in a pie.
We normally also have a traditional cheesecake or pumpkin cheesecake. I love pecan pies but haven’t had one in maybe 20 years. Seriously thinking I might have to make one around Christmas this year. Dutch Apple is another favorite. I can’t imagine cherry, strawberry or blueberry for thanksgiving but love them.

I’ve made it a few times and actually really like Apple-cranberry pie. This was my second thought after "what the heck" seeing cranberry pie for WA. Cranberry apple is a nice mix, but anyone I know would still call it an apple pie. My favorite is apple and I can't believe it didn't show up more.

Da fuq is cranberry pie? Has anyone here ever had cranberry pie? Arizona has pumpkin pie but I don’t know how accurate that is. I prefer non-pie desserts.

How did they make that list? Texas is dead on, but Oklahoma should also be pecan. I’ve never heard of blueberry pie for Thanksgiving. What about all the states that are strawberry! Strawberries aren’t even in season!

My state choice is pumpkin, and that's fine with me. In our house it was usually 2 pies, pumpkin and pecan pie. I've never heard of a cranberry pie. Don't get me wrong, I love a good cranberry sauce with my turkey dinner, but is this a dessert? I have a recipe for cranberry sauce that my family requested I bring every year. But we ate it with the meal. Do they also have cranberry sauce with the meal? I looked up a couple of recipes for cranberry pie and most looked like you just poured your cranberry dish from dinner into a pie crust and baked it. Yuck. I then saw this one that they claim is a mixture of cake and pie made with fresh cranberries and pecans. I guess I wouldn't mind eating this as a dessert. barefeetinthekitchen.com/christmas-cranberry-pie-recipe/
