Happy Thanksgiving for those who celebrate and Happy almost end of the week for our international peas.
Today is a small putter day. I want to do some light tidying up since I've been in this recliner all week. Dinner is chicken parm. We're going to have a Thanksgivingish dinner on Saturday when my sil is here.
What's on your menu?
What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? I never cared for the foods served. However, our Thanksgiving celebrations at dh's cousin's house included macaroni salad and my sil's great chicken salad. I enjoyed the salads. I'm not a pumpkin pie fan, but my mil's apple pie was a great dessert. At my house my mom always made her carrot ring(like carrot cake) and I could eat that all day long. Ooh. I almost forgot my favorite part of my mom's Thanksgiving, cream of carrot soup. OMG. That stuff was my absolute favorite. What about you?
Enjoy your day everyone.

No Thanksgiving here either, though I did do a turkey craft with my after school group today, as we have one American kid in the group. Then, when I arrived home, a book I have been waiting for - I ordered it after my online knitting class - was in the mail box, and I don’t have to work tomorrow!
Dinner tonight is pizza from the pizzeria down the street. Thursday is cheap pizza day, so it is a regular on our Thursday menu.

Happy Thanksgiving! Since I'm not cooking this year I will probably spend the afternoon working on some needlepoint and my newest puzzle I pulled out last night. This time it is The Alamo! Growing up my favorite dishes were mom's cornbread dressing and the candied yams. For dessert, I also went for the pecan pie first. We are having lunch at a local favorite restaurant at noon. I plan to have the gumbo to start and grilled fish. DH usually goes with the pork. We aren't big turkey fans. There will be no leftovers for us this year, but also no cooking and cleaning!

It's been a pretty lazy day today. Got up early and made a pumpkin pie, apple pie and a cheesecake for dinner. For Thanksgiving hubby and I along with my BIL and SIL will be going to my MIL's house. MIL is making her non traditional thanksgiving dinner. Lasagna, stuffed shells, stuffed mushrooms, garlic bread and caprese salad. Honestly, I'm only looking forward to the stuffed mushrooms and dessert. I miss a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving !

Hi Everyone!
and
Happy U.S. Thanksgiving
I got kicked out of the kitchen this morning. DH and YDS are preparing the turkey and stuffing. It will be another hour or two; before I start the sides.
My favorite dishes growing up were stuffing, candied yams and pies. Now I have added cranberry sauce to the list.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Our dinner today will just be the four of us. We’re having turkey, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, carrots, peas, ‘stuffin muffins’ (actually dressing but baked in muffin tins for lots of crispy bits), gravy, broccoli casserole, stuffed mushrooms and apple and pumpkin pies. We all love the leftovers and will freeze turkey for soup at another time. Oh, homemade cranberry sauce as well.
My favorite is the perfect bite of turkey, potatoes, stuffing and gravy. I really love it all.

Happy Thanksgiving to the USA peas! Happy Thursday to they international peas!
Hope your day finds a blessing or two. I know it has been a rough year, but I'm still thankful for so much, especially family.
We are hanging here at the house having a relaxing day. We are not doing traditional Thanksgiving food as none of us just love it. We are having ham, hominy and fresh green beans.
Enjoy your day! {{Hugs}}

Happy Thanksgiving to all you American ladies! The tech was able to fix my cable yesterday but just barely Apparently my lines are really old and need to be replaced ... can't happen right now because the ground is frozen In the meantime they want to string an overland line ... this has to pass through one of my neighbours yards ... I'm responsible for asking permission from them ... I've never met them! Right now I have an amplifier boosting my signal so that I have TV and internet but I don't know how long that will last ... grrrrrr!!!!!! Guess I'll be walking over to the neighbour's place this evening to see what they have to say ... Dinner has not been decided yet ... I ended up with spaghetti and red sauce last night and it was tasty so I might do that again

Hello peas! Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans. I've been busy all morning. And as per usual Jeremy is strutting around here acting like he's king of the kitchen because he's deep frying the turkey. Everything else was done by me. But he likes to take credit and because I'm thankful he's my isolation partner I'll let him.
The kids should be here in half hour. Dinner in two and a half hours. I wish all of you a great day! You are all a blessing to me. ❤️

Very traditional Thanksgiving meal for us. I enjoy today and this meal much, much more than Christmas. Too much stress and drama at Christmas.
I'm another one voting for leftovers tomorrow. I love a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. I'm most thankful for the support, humor, and love of this special tribe.

Everything but the green bean casserole is from a restaurant (the pie is from a pie shop).

Oh, and cranberry sauce- jellied, from a can. 😁

DH, DS and I just got back from Town Center for a very chilly yet beautiful walk. Today we will dine on roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli madeleine, cranberry freeze, rolls and my famous pecan pie with whipped cream. Like a few others, my favorites are leftovers tomorrow night! Have a happy day dear tribe!

‘stuffin muffins’ (actually dressing but baked in muffin tins for lots of crispy bits), Have you ever tried to freeze these? I wasn't going to make stuffing today but I could be persuaded to give this a try if they freeze well. In the meantime they want to string an overland line ... this has to pass through one of my neighbours yards ... I'm responsible for asking permission from them ... I've never met them! That is insane that there isn't a more straight forward fix. Good luck. And as per usual Jeremy is strutting around here acting like he's king of the kitchen because he's deep frying the turkey. Everything else was done by me. Hahaha, Mr. bc2ca has taken over the kitchen, too. I can't even look but have faith he will do a complete disinfecting clean when done. I think he's air frying this year instead of deep frying but ALL the equipment is out in case he changes his mind. I will be roasting carrots and potatoes, sauteeing Brussels sprouts and green beans with hazelnuts and mashing sweet potatoes later. My absolute favorite Thanksgiving dinner bite is a fork full of turkey breast, stuffing and cranberry sauce. No stuffing or cranberry sauce this year. For those oven roasting a turkey, consider surprising your family with this. Hugs to anyone struggling with a different kind of Thanksgiving this year.

Happy Thanksgiving!! My favorite food from this holiday is stuffing covered in turkey gravy and topped with cranberry jelly. 😋 And the mashed potatoes. Bucket and buckets of buttery creamy mashed potatoes. 🤪 Tonight we’re having it all. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and rolls. It’s just st me and my parents, so we will have plenty of left overs to freeze for several meals. The restaurant gave us two quarts of gravy. I’m like, so one to drink and one for the food. 😂

Happy Thanksgiving! Today we aren’t doing much because we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in November. I have to get groceries and dinner tonight could be anything I don’t think my dad‘s going to men’s night as he’s not feeling well. I made him Mac n cheese by request last night. Tonight might be eggs. Or toast. I will find something in the freezer.

Oh, is Thanksgiving today? I mean yesterday? I thought it was today. I mean tomorrow..... Happy Thanksgiving US friends! Thursday night I gave thanks for finally being allowed out of lockdown so I could go out for dinner with some friend from high school. It was soooooo nice to get out for dinner, and the first time I'd seen this group of friends all year. I shared the tapas board with one of my friends: Sun-dried tomato arancini, spring rolls, saganaki, avocado & tomato bruschetta, charred asparagus and feta, sweet potato wedges, dips with pita bread and salad.

I had to run an errand and Tim Hortons was beside the bank so I got us breakfast sandwiches. We will probably skip dinner now. I will ask him. We could have tuna melts. Easy right?

I have cooked the family Thanksgiving meal for 13 years, so this year wasn’t any different except that my parents weren’t here. DD’s boyfriend came, so we had 5. My menu was: Turkey Mashed potatoes Gravy Corn Green bean casserole Traditional stove top stuffing Mushroom sausage stuffing Deviled eggs Rolls Pecan pie Cherry cheesecake
It was all delicious! We haven’t dug into the dessert yet, but soon!
This was the first thanksgiving I haven’t had with my parents.
