I have one large formal tree. I don't know that I have the energy for more!

We only put on one large tree. It has hundreds or ornaments and it takes a long time to put up. Sometimes we will put the tree up and get the limbs spread nicely on one weekend and decorate the next. It is nice to break up the work. This year, we are having Thanksgiving on Saturday so we will probably put up the tree on Thursday and Friday since we will have extra time.

We do one or two. We get a real one and put that in the living room. I try to decorate it "pretty" and it coordinates pretty well. If I am feeling ambitious I also put up a fake tree in our bonus room. It was given to us by a friend who moved and had shorter ceilings. It is not the best looking tree during the day but I like that it works with the vaulted celings in that room and looks good from the street. If we put that up, I let the kids take charge and we put on ma random assortment of ornaments.
I have never known anyone else to have more than one tree, so it is unusual to me that so many peas have several.

I go a little over the top, I put up 11. The family room gets the big fancy tree. The sunroom gets the one with all the ornaments I've made since DS was born along with ones I've collected over the years. I have a 4' in the living room, two 3' trees on either side of the front door, my Ravens football tree, one for the dogs and one in the kitchen with mini cookie cutter ornaments. DH has a Corvette themed tree in his office and there's a small one in the dining room and the master bedroom. If I'm having guests stay over I'll do a small one in the guest room and next year I'll be adding another when the basement is finished.
I know I'm crazy but I love decorating for the holidays, it's my happy time of the year.

Two or three.
one in the livingroom. DH want the fake tree (white), and I want a live tree. I won last year, he won the year before that, we'll see who wins this year. As DH works very long hours, and both kids prefer a live tree, I think I might win this year too.
and a tiny tree in DD8's bedroom which she gets to decorate herself.
If DH gets his white tree in the livingroom, I'm going to buy a live one for the kitchen. It isn't Jul without a live tree in the house!

Nowadays, 3 trees! 1 large one in the sitting room and two smaller pre-lit with coloured lights twig type trees, which don't need decorating, in the hall and dining room! We do light a large real outside Christmas tree though.

Zero.
Christmas tree = giant green cat toy that cannot be left alone until every last decoration has been removed to play with (and rolled under the bed) and at least enough eaten to produce two piles of green pine-scented cat vomit on the carpet.

We have one artificial tree, but we love Christmas lights and have strings of lights and blow molds all over the house. Best part? They're all on timers so we don't have to plug them in every day!
And I love that snowman tree! That could stay up after Christmas too.

One. I am Australian and the first time I ever heard of anyone having more than one Christmas tree was on two peas. Not one person I know IRL has more than one. Then again, maybe I have just lived a sheltered life!!
I do actually like the idea of themed trees, but we only have room for one anyway and I won't throw out the decorations that my kids made at school (even though they are 18 and 21 now!) or the ones that were special to them at different times in their lives (eg, soccer ball, Santa playing guitar, Sesame Street) so I guess you could say my theme is "family".
Also, we would never be able to store more than one tree. We don't really have basements or attics here in Australia, so it blows my mind that people can store 8 or 9 Christmas trees along with all the decorations. I'm jealous that some people have that much storage space!

Two. A nine foot in our family room that I add purple and teal lights to and spend three days decorating. Then we bought one at the Festival of Trees last year that is beach themed and has gorgeous mermaid ornaments. Can't wait to put them up.

One, really no need for more than that. I dreaded Mr Kitty meeting the Christmas tree last year, he gave it one tentative sniff, had a sneezing fit then left it alone

We have two trees. We have one large tree in the formal living room that no one ever sets foot in, but it's the first room you see when you walk in our house so I like to have a tree in there. We also have a medium sized tree in our family room, which is the room we spend most of our time in. We really enjoy that tree.

My 3 kids each have a small one for their rooms, I have a tabletop one for the kitchen island decorated with kitchen-themed ornaments, we have a 4 ft tree for the basement and then we have our main 8 ft tree for the great room. I sometimes put a tree on the front porch as well.

I put up 3.
One goes in the familyroom and it is the turquoise/silver tree. The theme in the kitchen and familyroom is turquoise, silver and snowmen.
In the livingroom I put up a traditional tree, done in golds, reds and greens. The mantel is also done in the same color scheme and is done with old world Santas, etc.
There is a landing on the way up the stairs, I put a 4 foot tree up there and decorate the landing with items that my grown son's got over the years.
I usually put a Rudolph up there, it has been my son's for 20 years. As a child he loved Rudolph so last Christmas when they were expecting their baby, I washed up his old Rudolph and cleaned him up nice, bought a new Rudolph and a Rudolph storybook and wrapped them up for the new baby. It was a sentimental thing for me.

Trees are kinda my thing.
This year we have a new house to decorate so there's not a set in stone plan yet--but I do know there will be a 12 foot tall fresh tree in the front room where the big window is. It's taking all the self-restraint I can muster to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate.
There's always a cookie-cutter ornament tree in the kitchen and the boys have a small Charlie Brown style tree for their bedroom.
Since I have room now to put it pencil tree in my bedroom I'm thinking of doing that with just lights. It's kind of magical to sleep With the lit tree on.

I put up 8, but it isn't as over the top as it sounds.
I have 9 ft tree in the front room in front of the front window. All red and gold.
I have a 9 ft Santa tree in the living/computer room.
Both kids have a 4 ft tree that matches their room colors.
I have 2 4 ft tree's by the outside of my front door.
I have 2 6 ft tree's but they actually measure 4 ft by the back door. I bought them from Hobby lobby. They were damaged so they sort of form an S shape. I love them because I bought them 80% off.

Five!
A 14' tree in the living room with various and sundry ornaments on it. Handmade, vacation, etc...
The tree in the den has all Hallmark ornaments and some vintage glass balls.
The tree in the dining room is blue! (My dining room is blue) it has silver snowflake and crystal icicles on it.
There is a small pink tree in the bathroom (it belonged to my grandma). it has small blue and white balls on it.
And last but not least is the silver tree in the bedroom with all vintage balls. I love going to sleep by Christmas tree light!

Just 2, and one is tiny. The smallest of tabletop trees. My son requested the second one for his room.

We have had room for several in the past, but we only ever put up one. We have a 9' tree but it won't be used this year, since we're in a small apartment. It's in storage.
I'm in the process of convincing dh that we need to get a tall slim tree. Not sure where exactly we're even going to put it haha!

So we have 8 big trees and lots of little trees.
We have a 9ft in our living room, 8ft in our master bedroom, 8 ft in the entry way, 7 1/2 foot in the formal dining ( that we actually use for a tv room and our dogs) Usually a 6 ft in the hallway upstairs ( its open to the entryway) each of the kids has a 6ft tree in their room and usually a 6ft in the basement. Then we have a 3ft tree in the kitchen and 2ft trees in the bathrooms and a 3ft black tree with sliver and santa ornaments.
This is just INSIDE the house. We usually have 2 or 3 small ones on our porch and then decorate our yard.

Well, we put up a big one that it our main tree in the den. We put up a slim line one in our bedroom. We put a mini one on top of the piano. We are going to put one in the baby's room.
So 3, soon to be 4! But, my house is 2700sqft and just about every inch of space is taken up by Christmas decor around the holidays so there's that.

One. I'm quite happy with one and besides, we don't have the room for another.
In fact this year, it will be just a little tree that can sit on a table because I know our dog would be knocking over one that sat on the floor.

Depending on the year, and my ambition, I put up seven or eight artificial trees.
*9 ft rotating tree with hundreds of antique glass blown and assorted ornaments in the living room. *7 ft tree in the dining/kitchen area full of collected vintage red cookie cutters *7 ft white tree in my dd's room with peacock themed and teal/lime ornaments. *5 ft pencil, tarnished silver colored tree with old Shiny Brite ornaments. *3 ft tree with religious themed ornaments on entry way cabinet. *3 ft tree with stars and mini balls *a vintage wire tree with old fragile ornaments that sits on top of my kitchen cabinets. *a mini tree in the bathroom with glass-blown hello rubber duckies and a Santa wearing a bathrobe, holding a towel.
I love to decorate for the holidays. I'll try to share photos when we have a Christmas decorating post, because it's so much easier to do on this board!
BTW, I have a friend who has over 50 themed trees, and an (ex --SIL) who puts up 35+ trees. They both open their homes to select people and collect donations that they give to local charities.

I do one big one in the living room and the kids each have a small one in their room.
I spend very little time in our bedroom (just to sleep) so I don't really see a point in having one in their for myself. I used to set one up in the downstairs family room but hated taking so many down so I just decorate with other things and leave the big tree for the one room.

I have enough full size trees to have one in every room if I choose. (6 7' slim trees) Except the bathroom and kitchen - neither of those rooms has ANY extra floor space, so I do a 3ft pencil tree in the bathroom on the toilet tank, and an assortment of mini trees on top of the refrigerator in the kitchen. It's been a couple of years since I went all out though, I've been down to 2-3 full size trees and a smaller 4' tree lately. I love Christmas, and love to decorate for it! And no way could I settle on just one decorating theme lol, this is my solution to that. Someone upthread asked about storage, well I have a full unfinished basement, so its' perfect for storage. And I only have 1200 sq ft, so I don't have a huge house either, but manage to stuff all the trees in lol. Slim trees are the best invention - they take up a lot less room than a huge round tree.
