Is anyone planning to start a new spending freeze come January 2021? I know I always do and try to get as far into the new year as I can before buying anything.

Me! I've been frozen since Dec 1st and I'm going to see how long I can go without being tempted. I delete all emails that I've subscribed to immediately without opening.
After Thanksgiving I flipped through ALL my stamps sets, pulled a few, and put sticky notes on them with card sketch I want to try. They're on my desk ready to go when I get the bug to craft. And after I clear my workspace of all the Christmas stuff..

My plan is not to be completely frozen but very very chilly. I really need to use more and buy less. Or at least use more than I buy. Lol!

I'm going to attempt (once again) to use what I already have in 2021. Especially stamps and dies. And to use up or let go of lots of paper and cardstock. More making, less buying. A familiar refrain...

I definitely need to! Work is going to be really busy and I'll be away from home most of Feb and March so I hope that will kickstart my resolve.

I'm chilly, not frozen.
I broke and resubbed to SBTM and I have my KP sub. I usually pick up stuff at KP's monthly release too.
Other than that, I am buying only the bare necessities. It helps that I moved and saw just how much stuff I have!

I need to join in. I have spent the pandemic infected with FOMO (fear of missing out) and made a lot of crafty purchases of which many are still not put away. However I did support many small businesses! My goal is to put everything away and start using it up.

I'm chilly while I work on some specific albums. I have permission to buy BH page protectors as needed, and if SB.com ever gets the 9x12s...
I've got a decent stash for those themes (school/children, travel). When I get to the Halloween mini albums I may need some paper, but it's a small6x6 - I may try to pull it off with digital/hybrid instead.
I'd rather save for some items to invest in: a photo printer, maybe? HP stopped making my cartridges. stamp pads - my collection has been built by project. a new cutter, maybe?

I have a few subscriptions and I will keep those coming. I will definitely limit in the moment purchases...those happen in TM and LSS, so I just won't go there. I need to start using all the new stamps and dies I was collecting this year and use up the paperpads I have been hoarding. I still have a bunch of kit I have to put together. I should keep busy. So I will chill for 2-3 months and will see when I break down...🙃

I try to limit my spending in the first half of the year and I'll do the same thing again for 2021. I've been pretty good lately about deleting emails rather than looking at them, and I really should unsubscribe from several of them, which I might make a task for next week. I also need to focus on using more than I'm buying to get my stash back under control.

I am...going to commit... to only buying page protectors, albums, adhesive, and organizational folders that I started buying last month as I switched my paper over. For at least January. LOL ETA: And my Spellbinders club that I joined.

I need to definitely cut back. I will continue to sub to Elles Studios and add a few things each month, but beyond the basics of adhesive I am not planning on buying anything unless I run out (lol don’t think that will happen!). I seriously have stocked up beyond what I need since I started back to scrapbooking three years ago so I need to slow down for sure!

I’m going to try to only buy from my LSS
And by LSS I don’t mean micheals or JoAnns I mean the last paper store in my state.
I’ve bought from her a minimum of 1/month since she reopened with curbside pick up in the pandemic and if I’m buying anywhere I can buy from here to try to help her weather this pandemic.
Well that and the one kit subscription I have left

However I did support many small businesses! My goal is to put everything away and start using it up. You are not alone in that. I definitely need to scale back... I am out of space for just about everything. I will keep my spellbinders stamp of the month club ($10) and then I have some subscriptions I need to cancel (and instagrams to unsubscribe from).

Yes I need to! I canceled all of my subs. I am going to try and unsubscribe from all emails, newsletters. Probably need to read here less I think I can make it until at least April without being tempted but I know there are some upcoming AE story kits I’ll want. Really need to use what I have.

Probably need to read here less TBH that would probably help me a lot too. On a positive note, I've started unsubscribing from crafty emails as they appear in my inbox.

I’ll be in the freezer for a while. I added quite a bit to my last year without making much of anything. As far as I can tell, I’ll need to get a roll of foam tape in the near future but that’s about it except photo printing supplies. My goal is 50 pages before I consider buying anything else.

I think this is a great goal. I really like it, I may jump on your bandwagon! I need to be in the deep freeze! I do not plan on buying anything scrappy related in 2021. I need to use my stuff. I was really proud of myself, as I made 50 christmas cards with christmas paper I no longer loved and dontated them to a local nursing home. So I am going to try and make stuff with paper I have, even if I don't 100% love it. I also gave some stuff away, that felt really good. 2021 needs to continue that trend!

I'm considering, but not committing. 😁
The cost of minimal basics (photo prints, adhesive, page protectors) is $$ every year, and that's without the fun stuff.
I'm sharing my space with my adult dd, so space is so extremely limited.
I haven't used a lot of the themed embellishments I normally would have (like for school, etc) because life has been so different and home based this year.
I think this year I want to, *gulp*, keep track of my scrapbook spending. I'm pretty sure I vastly under-estimate what I spend.

I Love this idea as 2020 hit me hard with being at home and online constantly. I bought so much this year. Some I still haven’t used.
2021 starts with me moving! I have packed a small supply of card making needs and plan to do some for the seniors and co-workers while in-between houses. Once I land in my new home it will be getting unpacked and set-up, so organizational needs will be mostly purchased.
I am going to do a small purchase from Stampin Up as their new catalog goes live on Jan 5th but otherwise. I’m chilly!

Using up stuff I don’t love to make cards for people who will love them is my favorite thing. And it’s such a relief to be rid of the stuff that isn’t your taste any more, so it’s a win win. I also find it really creatively relaxing and freeing to make cards without having to worry whether they’re really good or not.

Chilly here. With a few exceptions, of course.
1. Color Cast Designs - so hard to resist the new subscription but I will still shop the store guilt-free
2. new Tim Holtz distress and oxide ink colors
3. Cocoa Vanilla

I'm going chilly, but not frozen. I have my AE Story Kit subscription, and I'll need to spend money on photos and adhesive. Otherwise, I really could go without any new product for quite a while.

I probably could/should be a chilly pea for a couple of years, but I'd rather shop every now and then I sometimes buy from online stores (with no store front), but from this point forward, I am going to try and support the physical LSSs.

A coworker got me started with You Need a Budget, and I've created categories for AE, KP, and other scrapbooking purchases. It is really eye opening.

Put me in the chilly but not frozen group. If something really special comes along, I'm going to consider it. But I never go way overboard with my spending anyway. My next scheduled spend is Valentine's Day, so if I hit the button before then, I'll just consider it an early gift.

And after I clear my workspace of all the Christmas stuff.. I love this idea. I am totally copying you and doing this immediately. I just watched Justine Hovey's "Never forget to send a birthday card" YouTube video, and I am well on my way to having the birthday card situation handled, but I want to do this for all the cards I need to send out this year. (holiday, thank you, etc). Using GiantsFan's idea and taking the time to plan ahead will help me use what I have on hand rather than purchasing something I really don't need.
