I have just finished blocking the two sweaters I finished up on Jan 1 and 2. I am really pleased with both of them. Those are gorgeous, and so are your socks! Crocheted socks aren't as comfy as knitted ones, but I can't knit so I'll have to put up with knobbly socks. I'm so jealous of yours and lainey's beautiful socks.

I’m attempting Sacred Space by Helen Shrimpton - the left picture is what is should be when finished 😀 That's a lot like the CAL I started last winter. The rest of the group finished theirs, and mine got stuck on the last section when I had a fight with a new stitch and it went in the naughty corner. It's still there. Once I've finished the lap blanket I started afterwards to make me feel better, and possibly the cardigan that is also in the naughty corner, I'll get back to it. Aren't they satisfying the way they grow, and every row changes it totally?

Did this today--my 2021 journal for Bible study. I love this so much - all happy, bright and beautiful! I think there will be a lot of projects around this year that are deliberately bright and colourful, just to cheer us all up and distract us, don't you?

Ooh your colors are beautiful Julie W Thanks jeremysgirl and @patter I spent 3 hours on my exciting new years eve coming up with them. And then when I got to the yarn store the next day to pick up 4 of the colors, I saw that a few colors were a lot closer than I thought from the photos, so then I went back and changed some. I am happy with what I ended up with and look forward to seeing the end product. I almost hate to say it but I hope I we get a high below zero and a high above 100 so I can see at least one instance of the darker plum and dark pink!

I really fancy a pair of neon socks but I can't decide if I want pink or yellow or both! Or green maybe.

Why not all three? Personally, I would be going with the pink, but that's just my colour preferences Oh, and what brand is that yarn? Just in case!

I am SO rubbish at posting to this thread, because I rarely use my laptop to post on the board and it's really hard to share photos from my phone. Anyway, I'm hoping that this link to my instagram works so you can see the embroidery I did just before Christmas, of my sister's guinea pigs. I'm so proud! But also I did so MUCH embroidery that I have injured my shoulder somehow, so I'm taking a break from it for now. Grrrr. Off to check out all your gorgeous projects... http://instagr.am/p/CJs2hPqpz46

I joined another 100-day project that has me journaling to a specific prompt every day, one given to me through a paid class. I do write anyway, but never to a prompt that someone else provides and that I had to pay to get. It's been tough going up to my desk, knowing that I really have to stretch myself. I've added a 2nd challenge in that I vowed to use just one page of my 9x12 notebook. So far, so good. I am terrible about journaling, but I thought (in my scrapbooker, memory keeper head) that the Happiness Project 5 year journal would be fun. So I started January 1. It's basically a two sentence a day kind of journal but I thought that would at least get me started. And it might be fun at the end of 5 years to see what I was actually up to each day. Just chiming in to say that 5 year journals are great! I've just finished my first one, and in a great leap of optimism considering my health, have started another one. There are days (whole months) when I didn't write anything, and that's ok, but the days I have written are great treasures already. I'm sure it will be a wonderful keepsake for you.

Holy cats craftykitten your needlework would have been mass impressive if it had been a kit, but that you designed it yourself! 😻 Way to own the crafty part of your name. Dh peeked at it as he walked by and commented that we need to watch Fleabag again. 😄

Tough call on the socks lainey. While I love the idea of a pair with all three colours, my mind keeps flashing to a pair in each colour like those open work ones you made recently. Is there any chance all of these glorious socks you've made are piled together in a sock drawer? I'd love to see that picture.

I’ve decided to keep all my yarn bands this year! I’m going to add up how much yarn I’ve used in 2021 🙈😁 For some unearthly reason I do tend to keep the bands and I have no clue why. Then I have a clear out and they get binned. I’d really like to be efficient enough to keep a proper workbook listing yarn, needles/hooks, where the pattern came from, swatches of the yarn etc etc. I could keep a band of each colour used in with each project page. I need a proper journal though, not an online or app record. I need to remember to fill it in, too. My husband just came in from the porch with a big box in his arms. “It’s wool” he said with THAT look. If Wool Warehouse would send things in brown packaging I could have said it was for the business. He has no problem with what I buy but I still feel guilty. gillyp I have a pattern workbook, somewhere! I’ll dig that out and use that to list the project and yarn this year! Then the incriminating evidence if yarn bands will not be needed! 😆😁 Thanks

Thank you. I’m just interested to see how much I’ve used, I’m not going to tally up the cost though - I’m not brave enough for that ☺️😉 I'd be running a ticker in my head. LOL! jeremysgirl I’d lose count after the first project 🤣😂

I'd definitely do a pair in each colour I'm looking to get a cute basket to keep my socks in (if the shops ever reopen!) they're all a bit smushed in atm.

Can I ask the journallers a question? What do you write? I spent ages yesterday starting at the blank first page of a TN, pen in hand and head completely empty! I messed about with some scrapbook bits and bobs and made a small collage but there's no writing. Is that acceptable? I quite unusually had nothing to say.

I sourced some logs before Christmas, fully expecting certain relatives to ask what I’d like, as in previous years. Not a sound was heard so I’ll probably treat myself. I did think of just designing some pages myself but I don’t know if I can be bothered with that. I do like a nice bit of stationery! craftykitten your piggies are fabulous! The detail is lovely.

Last year was a freak. We WILL be happier this year.
