I'm STILL waiting on my fabrics/die to show up so I can start on the temp. quilt. They were both ordered 1/3. Fabric should be here 1/18 and the die 1/14. Sigh.... In the mean time, I'll be making some baby shoes. I have 2 past students with babies. One just had a boy so he's getting a pair of gray shoes and the other (who I work with now- it's so weird teaching with a past student who also subbed for me when I had my son!) is having a girl and I'm going to make her a few pairs. Hope to get them done this weekend since the work baby shower is on Tuesday (or maybe thursday?- can't remember) this week. I only craft on the weekends so I have to get them done this weekend. . I'll share pics when they're finished.

lainey, sueg - I have a question please? Do you use DPNs or a short circular?

lainey , sueg - I have a question please? Do you use DPNs or a short circular? Neither. I use an 80cm circular and the magic loop technique

gar please do pop in, even if it’s just to say hello and look at what everyone is up to. 🥰 Yes do. All are welcome! gar my goodness, you all have been tolerating me for ages and I seldom do anything but ooh and aah at what others have done. After how many years, I made a merkin. 😄

lainey , sueg - I have a question please? Do you use DPNs or a short circular? I do magic loop on an 80cm circular needle. I've tried DPNs (didn't have enough hands!) and a short circular (hated the way it pulled my stitches) but I love magic loop, it's genius.

gar - stay! This is a safe, colourful, cheerful, inspirational place to be. It simply doesn't attract any mean girls. ellen - how beautiful is that. I love it. lainey - those are so cosy. How many patterns have you got left in your book to make? There can't be many now!

Hi, Happy New Year, Crafty Peas! Does new year equal new projects? Or is it your mission to finish up WIPs this year? What are your crafty goals? I can’t wait to dive into this thread. I always like to wait until I have plenty of time to peruse all the pretty pics! As to my goals, I think I have 2 of them: 1. to continue crocheting (working on an attic24 blanket design right now and I have probably ripped out nearly as much as I’ve crocheted so far 🤪 but, I think {knocks wood} I may finally be getting the hang of it. 2. to get into the eye dr (darned COVID) for new glasses so I can embroider and bead again. The coating is coming off my 4 YO eyeglasses and they’re all splotchy and difficult to see through, even when I use my lighted magnifier. Ugh.

Worked on my scrapbooking goal today! I found an Iris "suitcase" with 16 photo cases at Tuesday Morning and started on transferring photos from photo boxes to the cases. Finished transferring one box!
I decided to do this partly because it occurred to me that if I had to evacuate my house in a hurry, it would be difficult to take the photos with me because I have 7 photo boxes. The lids aren't attached or secured in any way so they would be awkward to carry. By putting my photos in the Iris "suitcase", it will be much easier to grab and go. Plus it will take up much less room.
I am organizing by year. I have two photo cases per year starting with 1996. I may need to adjust this as I go but for now that's how I've got things set up. I will not be surprised if I have to get another "suitcase" but I'll worry about that when I need to.
Merilee

Take a look at the stitch markers JoP sent me in my Christmas card. Aren't they the cutest? My DD said they look like the little Pac-Man ghosts. Halloween lover here who just adores these

lainey - those are so cosy. How many patterns have you got left in your book to make? There can't be many now! The blue ones are the only pair I've made from 52 weeks of socks, a lot of the patterns are toe up and I just can't get going with it I'm adding it to my list of knitting goals for this year along with trying the fish lips kiss heel. gar do you have stitch markers? You'll need them when you're doing your gusset decreases. I like these ones as they're really easy to slip across Stitch markers Or you can of course use a piece of contrasting yarn.
