lainey , yes I ordered some from there (wool warehouse) with my wool and needles but not the same as that. I just chose some cheapies for my first endeavour! Thankfully they were listed on the sockalong thing you directed me to I'm so excited to start!

It was only a couple of weeks ago that I realised intricately patterned socks were made with yarn designed to make up like that and weren’t Fair Isle or some such!

There are intricately patterned socks that are real fair isle or lace or other fancy knitting. And then there are the socks I knit, which are from wool that makes me look better than I am.

Don't put yourself down! I have never seen the appeal in knitting socks, particularly as I felt there was such a lot of work involved but now I know the there is yarn that does the patterning they might go on my to do list. I can knit Fair Isle but never felt the pull to make socks like that. I do love the look of lacy socks too. They will go on the list too. I might be ready to start next year!

I don't knit real fair isle socks, as the stranding makes them less stretchy and that makes it tricky - at least for me - to get them over my heels. I have one pair of lacy socks, made to wear with my dirndl. I didn't knit socks before I came to live here, but with sub-zero temperatures and snow, I love them. The first time I wore handknit socks was a day we went sledding. By the end, my pants were frozen to the knees but my feet were warm and dry. I don't do much sledding, but I still swear by my socks when I am walking on snowy day.

I thought it a super elegant look with the white. I love how it gives the illusion of getting progressively smaller. It would be a great way to use up leftovers with just a bunch of white too.

My die is in Tracy, CA today (estimated delivery 1/18) I live less than an hour from Tracy. Tracy is a large black hole when it comes to packages. Like, people dread their items going there.
My fabric is in Indianapolis, IN- estimated for 1/14 still. Let's hope it doesn't go to Tracy! I may never see it!
I finished the baby shoes yesterday and a card and a take out box for me to put the shoes in.

I'm less than an hour from Tracy as well and have had the same issues. Fingers crossed your fabric doesn't stop in Tracy. What die are you waiting for? I'm assuming Accuquilt die?

LOL Ain't that the truth! I needed to order $140 in fabric, die for $20. Still need to get the batting. Of course, this COULD have been done from scraps but I wanted all the fabrics to match since they're going to be lots of colors.

Okay, I have changed my colors for the CAL Bias Granny Temperature blanket. I added more colors. I started a few squares, and I wasn't happy with my original colors. So, here we go now. No more changing. LOL! The yellow and the grey will be used in the center for the first of each month to denote whether it was cloudy or sunny that day. Those colors are gorgeous. I am so looking forward to seeing your finished blanket.

I always enjoy going through the craft thread and mean to be a better contributor. It’s inspiring. I finished this blanket last month. I used the Attic24 Dune pack, but used the Dahlia pattern. It’s a graduation gift for my daughter. We already bought bedding for her dorm and this will go nicely with it. I was working on this when she was in bed or at her boyfriend’s place. Hard to do a secret project when someone lives with you. I’ll be curious to see if she knew about it. I often just put another blanket on top of my work basket. eta - sorry about the size, I used my phone and went with what it said was the best option. I'll go smaller next time. I love the colors on this blanket. I have the kit for the coast blanket. As soon as I finish the one I am working on now, I hope to start that one. I'm a slow crocheter.

Take a look at the stitch markers JoP sent me in my Christmas card. Aren't they the cutest? My DD said they look like the little Pac-Man ghosts. Halloween lover here who just adores these I immediately thought of you jeremysgirl when I saw them 😀. Yes they do look like the Pac-Man ghosts.

I have no idea what a CAL Bias Granny Temp blanket is but I just wanted to say I adore that array of colours The colours are lovely and happy aren't they? To break down the CAL Bias Granny Temp Blanket phrase for you, CAL means crochet along, a designer releases parts of a pattern in stages, weekly, monthly etc. Crocheters usually have a space, like Facebook, to share their progress. Granny is a granny square Bias, from the photo @patter shared earlier in the thread the squares are being joined on the bias Temp, temperature, each colour is assigned to a temperature or a range of temperatures and a square will be made daily, the colour of the square decided by the temperature. Patter also said she was going to use either yellow or grey in the centre of the square to indicate if it was a sunny or cloudy day. You end up with a tactile record of the weather over a time period.

I've seen a few foreign language YouTube videos that have fab projects, this one is in Portuguese (Brazil), I'd love an English translation. m.youtube.com/watch?v=cOV0w4rcNNE
