the100dayproject.org/The 100 days runs from Jan 31st to May 10th this year, a couple of months earlier than usual. That might help us count down the days until we're getting back to "normal" ? hopefully getting vaccinated and our countries getting healthy. Not saying that will be May, obviously but I wouldn't mind getting distracted/focused on something for 100 days and suddenly finding that it's mid-May. kwim? So what would you like to be better at by the end of spring (autumn for down-unders)? What skill have you been meaning to make time for? What would you like to be awesome at or have completed before (hopefully) we're unleashed back into the world? Maybe if you are schooling at home with your kids it can be something for them to do with you, or their own project, counting down the 100 days until "school" is almost "out" for the "summer" whatever that means Who has a plan? or a thought? or a dream? Or a question? Ask away - there are lots of us here who have done scrapping, knitting, drawing, finishing projects for 100 days (or more, or less). UPDATE: we're talking about a pea specific IG hashtag - maybe #100daypeas or #100daysofpeas chime in if you have a preference or a better idea! UPDATE: points for team challenge memberstake 5 points per day that you do your 100 day project activity (whatever that may be).
Add 1 point each day you share your work on the 100 day challenge thread or in the monthly sharing thread.
If you do your project every day this month, great job! Double your points.MAY UPDATE: 100 Day Project: it's the last 10 days of the 100 day project, finishing May 10th. Take 10 points per day that you do your thing **even if you had previously "failed" or given up on the project!** If you have done the 100 day project consistently all the way through (give or take a day for illness or languishing) take another 100 points at the end as a bonus for persevering and making it all the way to the end. Yay!!

I love doing this project but always drop out. I need to figure out what to do for it.
I should do 100 days of using my alpha stickers so I can get rid of them.

I love doing this project but always drop out. I need to figure out what to do for it. I should do 100 days of using my alpha stickers so I can get rid of them. haha! That's sounds like a plan! Dropping out isn't a big deal. It's better than never trying. And hey, it's OK to say this sort of thing doesn't suit your psychology or life. Some people have a mental quirk that if they break a streak it's all over - perfect or nothing. That can really get in the way of a 100 day project. Being willing to either skip a few days and not worry but get back on the horse, or double up here and there to "make up time," or extending the project until you've finished 100 days can help. Depends on your psychology and the project. Having a finish line can actually be really bad if your goal is an ongoing habit. Once you reach the goal/finish your brain says "done!" and that's it. I did 100 days of drawing last year and then did maybe 3 drawings in the 6 months after the finish line. Not good. I like the idea of practicing a skill for this project, but doing something with a real finished product (getting 100 granny squares done for a blanket, rather than trying to get into the habit of crocheting every day) might actually be better for me. I knew about the finish line effect before I started, even noted the danger as I reached the last few days, but I still succumbed to it.

I love your optimism about a covid countdown. I remember last year thinking COVID would be over when the 100 day project ended in July. Nope. Although I do believe we will be in a better place in May 2021.
But I did see that they moved it up! I am thinking about switching it up and trying cross stitch or needlepoint. I've never done either but I've been curious to try now for a while. Of course that is in direct conflict of my crafty shopping freeze. I have to think about this.
What are you considering?

This sounds interesting.I have seen people doing this or the 30 days coloring.
I might practice coloring with water colors. I can stamp out 100 images some small and some big ones and choose one everyday, depending on my time I can just color something small or just play with background coloring. I got the Karina markers for Christmas and this would be a perfect time to learn how to use them.

Maybe I will do 100 days of storytelling. If I could write a bunch of stories my scrapbooking process would be much easier. And if I kept writing maybe I would get better at writing. I’m already doing short daily journaling but I am thinking this would be more than that.

The 100 day project is a great way to learn how to use a new tool or medium.

Honestly, I'm mentally planning for "normal" life to hopefully by Halloween, but I'm cautious and pessimistic and I'm also at the very back of the vaccination line, as far as I can tell. May is very optimistic IMO, but I'm thinking for some people/in some area life might be better by May. We'll see... at least we'll be 100 days CLOSER to better! (hopefully)I haven't really had a chance to think about my project yet. I like the idea of coloring things I can use on cards, maybe stamping out images to color like azcrafty suggested. That would really help me get cards made! I also thought about finishing what I started last year which is learning Procreate well enough that I can design a cool Xmas card to send out. I think I would need to give myself more structure and a clearer goal for that one - I just messed around drawing last year, although there was nothing wrong with that, it was good learning. The failure was that I didn't keep it up afterwards and work towards that goal directly. An easy one would be 100 days of crochet in the evenings, but I think I'd rather just do that as a relaxing habit and make the 100 day project a skill builder.

Is it meant to be something new or challenging? Or just a project you want to have a go at in 100 days? I've barely cracked the beginning of this blanket. Of course, I chose different yarn and mapped out a much bigger blanket. I'm afraid if I don't put a goal in place, it will just never get done. But I could do one hexagon a day for 100 days. That sounds fun and makes this project more doable. But, it is not a challenge for me. In fact, it's absolutely kind of a beginner pattern and my skills are past beginner. cypresstextiles.net/2018/06/17/happy-little-tree-crochet-blanket/

If you didn't do it this way you'll probably still be thinking about it in May and lamenting that you never have the motivation, vs this way you'll have 100 happy little hexies done (so beautiful - I might want to do a blanket like that next!) No need for it to be a challenge or a new skill unless you want that from the project.

10 days until the official 100 days project begins! I'm going to copy azcrafty and stamp out 100 days worth of coloring images. Some to stretch my skills, some just to keep simple and get done. I'm planning to use markers, watercolors, inks, whatever. I might even try importing some digital stamps into Procreate and doing some digital coloring! I'll share on my business IG account www.instagram.com/olivemaycards/Do you have a plan? Questions about the project? Thoughts and feelings?

I've been thinking about this and like others, I get all hyped before it starts, maybe do one or two days then fizzle out. I'd like to change that bad habit so I'm thinking making a simple card a day or maybe just play with the gel press plate every day. Those are easy and attainable I think or at least I hope.

Even just 15 minutes or 30 mins (or whatever is a reasonable time for your schedule) would be good. Scheduling it at the beginning of the day/when you have energy, not waiting until the end of the day can help, again, if that's possible within your schedule. And knowing that 15 or 30 days in you're going to be so done with it... that's normal. It's still better than not starting. Do you miss one day and give up? Or do you taper off? The psychology of routines/streaks is really interesting, and some of us just aren't routine people.

I will go a few days and not do anything then give up because I feel like I have to be "caught up". I know that's something I need to get over. As for routine, in the past when I was working I would have my routine, but now since I've been home with my daughter, we have a routine but it is fully focused on her stuff and I've definitely struggled to work in time for me. Now she's 5 and is doing distance learning since our schools aren't open here, so I'm stuck being near her for the school day. My hope was when she was in her zoom classes I could do things for me but I honestly haven't done that yet. This might be a good time for me to try and incorporate crafty time into my routine because she doesn't need so much hands on attention right now.

Maybe you can set yourself up with a habit or cue during her school time that lets you be there and available but gives you a chance to work on this project. That sounds like it would be an opportunity to take some much needed time for yourself... but at the same time, these times are hard. Being a parent is really hard right now, zoom school is rough. If you can figure out how to make this work for you, yay! But if not, don't beat yourself up about it. I don't know how anyone with kids is getting through this, honestly.

Thank you for your kind words. It's honestly been so rough but making a little time for me even if it is 15-30 minutes will help my mental health. And the fact that I don't have to be outraged at what's coming out of the white house every day has helped that as well. I actually WANT to be creative now vs. feeling that I should be creative.

While I know I won't do this, I think I could pull out some of my albums and just journal something on pages that only have dates. It would take less than 3 minutes a day if I only wanted to spend that much time, but having 100 more layouts with details would be a good thing.

Even if you don't do this thanks for sharing because it would be a good project for a lot of us who meant to journal on our pages "someday." Even adding some notes to the backs of pages would be worth doing for folks who don't journal on the pages. It would be a fun walk down memory lane too!

You can always do some parts of a card and finish it in 2 or 3 days. Maybe cut stuff out one day than color them next day and glue them down on the 3 day. This way you can be close to your daughter while she is on her zoom class and if you need to jump in and help her at least its easier to stop and start again. The gelly plate sounds fun ,but count on that you have to clean up afterwards( or at least looks messy) It might be more hassle than it's worth for 15-30 min.

I just found out one of my friends is going to be playing along. She doesn't think of herself as crafty but she got supplies to try needle felting and her husband is going to be out of town for roughly the same period of time we're doing the 100 days so I suggested she join. Hopefully it will help her count down the days in a positive way.

Ooh, let's think of a good pea tag... No one is using #100daypeas so that might be an easy option. Or #100daysofpeas. People will think we're all eating peas! lol.
Open to other suggestions though!
I'll probably come up with a unique hashtag for my project too, so I can find and share my own progress.
