A local news station, WMNF reports that James Cusick, Jr., the founder and pastor of the Global Outreach Church in Melbourne, Florida, was arrested on Thursday for his participation in the deadly January 6th riots.

Cusick's son, church vice-president Casey Cusick, was also arrested for taking part in the riots.

Federal prosecutors say they were alerted to the Cusicks' presence at the riots by Global Outreach Church congregant David Lesperance, who was arrested earlier this year and charged with breaching the Capitol.

Mitchell Todd Gardner II, who prosecutors describe as having no fixed address, was charged with destruction of government property for allegedly breaking a window with a cannister at the Capitol on January 6.

The government expressed concern that Gardner might flee if released," the newspaper reported. "He was described as having a hefty monthly income through his job with a roofing company. He also owns a 2017 BMW, the government said.

Federal prosecutors are seeking to revoke the pre-trial release of a former police officer charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, after he purchased 34 guns. Investigators also found a partially assembled pipe bomb at his home.

Thomas Robertson, a former police officer in Rocky Mount, Va., was ordered by a judge not to possess guns following his arrest on several charges stemming from the insurrection, including felony disruption of an official proceeding and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in a restricted building. Robertson and another Rocky Mount officer, Jacob Fracker, were fired in the wake of their arrests after they posted photos of themselves inside the Capitol on social media.

Days after the insurrection, he wrote on Facebook: "The picture of Senators cowering on the floor with genuine fear on their faces is the most American thing I have seen in my life. … The only voice these people will now listen to is VIOLENCE."

He added: "CNN and the Left are just mad because we actually attacked the government who is the problem and not some random small business ... The right IN ONE DAY took the f***** U.S. Capitol. Keep poking us."

Noah Bacon was arrested Wednesday by the FBI for trespassing in the U.S. Senate chambers on January 6 after taking part in the rioters' effort to force their way past police in the Capitol building.

The FBI complaint shows Bacon sitting illegally in the Senate chambers during the riot, wearing an "I Love Trump" T-shirt and a Space Force cap. The FBI alleges that Bacon, while not charged with striking any officers, did play a role in the rioters' violent entry into the Capitol Building:

As rioters are trying to enter Capitol, Bacon locates a yellow 'Don't Tread on Me' flag on the floor, picks it up, covers a security camera above the door for approximately 8 seconds and then shoves or attempts to jam the flag into the door frame to force the door open," the complaint states. It also references this statement published by Bacon about U.S. Senators on his Instagram account on the day after the riot: 'The crime of a fraudulent election is complete. 93 to 6. 93 people are going to jail for Seditious Conspiracy and High Treason for certifying a fraudulent election..."Popcorn . . . Justice . . . People in for a surprise.'"

David Moerschel, 43, of Punta Gorda, Fla., was charged by criminal complaint Thursday with three counts, including conspiracy and obstructing Congress. Moerschel joined some defendants who prosecutors allege staged in advance at an Arlington hotel, where they say weapons were stored for a 'Quick Reaction Force' site," reported Spencer Hsu. "His arrest makes him at least the 18th alleged Oath Keeper in a group whose members prosecutors have accused of plotting and communicating in advance to breach the Capitol and disrupt Congress that day.

New closed circuit videos from the Capitol Jan 6th.

As the nation marks six months since the Jan. 6 insurrection, newly released closed-circuit video shows pro-Trump rioters assaulting and shoving aside a Capitol police officer just before they breached the Senate chamber.

Erick Flack, an investigative reporter at WUSA 9, noted that one of the rioters shown in the video is Bruno Joseph Cua, then 18, the youngest person to be charged in the insurrection.

Cua faces a slew charges, including assault on a federal officer, engaging in physical violence, violent entry or disorderly conduct, and civil disorder. He later boasted on Instagram about storming the Capitol, before writing a letter to the judge in his case, apologizing and begging to be released from jail.

Some not accused of violence on Jan. 6 may still be subject to pretrial detention, the D.C. Circuit says.

A federal appeals court decision Wednesday could make it more difficult for some of the more than 535 suspects charged in the Capitol Riot to win release from custody while they await trial.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that even defendants not accused of violence against others or destruction of property could be kept behind bars pending trial because of other indications that they pose a danger to the community.

The appeals court’s decision upheld the detention of Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, an Army reservist from New Jersey arrested about a week and a half after the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Prosecutors have said Hale-Cusanelli espoused white supremacist views to colleagues and boasted of his role in taking over the Capitol during the planned tabulation of electoral votes. He faces a single felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding, as well as four misdemeanor charges for entering the Capitol without permission and protesting there.

D.C. Circuit Judge Robert Wilkins said there was no clear error by the trial court judge who concluded that Hale-Cusanelli’s past history, his expressed bias against African Americans and Jews, and his use of violent rhetoric in connection with the Jan. 6 events made him unsuitable for release.

“It is not obviously wrong to conclude that these statements, taken as a whole, demonstrate a potential danger to the community,” Wilkins wrote in an opinion joined by Judges David Tatel and Neomi Rao. “This is particularly so when viewed with other statements [Hale-Cusanelli] made just prior to January 6, such as proclaiming a ‘final countdown’ and an intention to leave his employment in a ‘blaze of glory.’”

The 13-page opinion issued Wednesday may be viewed as a refinement of another ruling Wilkins authored in March that has become the working framework for decisions on pretrial detention for Capitol riot defendants. That decision said a mother and son who entered the Capitol during the fracas but did not engage in violence, Lisa Eisenhart and Eric Munchel, could not be detained pending trial based largely on the risk they might try to repeat their Jan. 6 activities. The pair were later released after prosecutors gave up their effort to hold them.

Some lower-court judges have complained that aspects of the earlier decision were difficult to parse.

In the new decision, Wilkins stressed that the earlier ruling was intended as a call for an individualized assessment of dangerousness.

“The point of Munchel was that everyone who entered the Capitol on January 6 did not necessarily pose the same risk of danger and the preventive detention statute should apply to the January 6 defendants the same as it applies to everyone else, not that the January 6 defendants should get the special treatment of an automatic exemption from detention if they did not commit violence on that particular day,” wrote Wilkins, an appointee of former President Barack Obama.

It is unclear how many Capitol riot defendants could be affected by the appeals court’s decision. In the wake of the Munchel ruling, prosecutors seem to have become more discerning when recommending that defendants be detained pending trial. In a few cases, the government has even agreed to the release of individuals accused of clashing with police officers.

The vast majority of the more than 535 people arrested have been released to await trial at home. Only a few dozen suspects are being kept in custody. The FBI has indicated it could make hundreds more arrests as tips continue to roll in about individuals depicted in photos and videos taken that day.

Former President Donald Trump and some Republican lawmakers have complained that the Capitol riot suspects are being treated too harshly, particularly when compared with participants in riots elsewhere in the country last year during the civil unrest that followed the murder of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police.

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Five members of the same family in Texas have been charged for their alleged participation in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Kristi Munn, Tom Munn, Dawn Munn, Josh Munn and Kayli Munn are now each facing four federal charges over their illegal entry and alleged disorderly conduct in the Capitol, according to a criminal complaint.

An investigation revealed multiple videos and social media messages indicating that the five relatives were part of the large "nuclear family" that traveled from Borger, Texas to Washington D.C. and entered the Capitol, according to documents.

The investigation tracked the Munn's movements while inside the Capitol using surveillance cameras and open-source social media posts. The FBI indicates they also brought an unidentified minor child into the building with them that is not being charged along with them.

They are now the biggest family to be charged, so far.

Andrew Quentin Taake was arrested Friday by the FBI, which has accused him of pepper-spraying officers and striking them with a metal "whip-like device" at the January 6 Capitol riot.

And apparently it was Taake's online dating foray that helped get him in trouble.
