Sounds like your blade may need adjusting. Go to the tool section and look for the Scanning cutting position adjustment setting, load a piece of plain 12x12 paper and follow the prompts. Blade adjustment Hope this helps fix the problem.

I should have mentioned in my post that I have calibrated my machine so the blade adjustment is all as it should be. I don't have an issue with Direct Cut - it's only when I have scanned an image for image trace in CanvasWorkspace do I find that the lines do not line up again when imported into the machine.

After many hours of Googling, I've learnt that my model isn't capable of doing Print and Cut, which is why I cannot get this process to work for me.
Nevermind. At least I know now 😅

I'm glad you got it figured out, but what a pain. Thanks! Sometimes we don't get the solution we hope for but need to go through the process to learn. Looks like I'll be purchasing a Cricut....!
