I'm not a super fan, but I like some things. Our fridge is organized, but not in separate containers like they do. I buy too much produce to be able to give up the space needed to have the containers in there.
I am a big fan of decanting dry goods out of boxes/bags and into containers. It's so much easier to know at a glance what you need. I do love an organized pantry. It helps prevent overbuying or things getting lost and expiring in the back of shelves.
Like most things, doing their style all-in is too much for most people, but there are good ideas in there. I personally think organizing by color looks beautiful, but I don't do it. I organize by category/purpose. My brain does not remember what color packaging is, so it would take me longer to find things in rainbow order.

It's a little over the top.. I mean I guess if I had the money and time they would be a good fit to help me organize. But I agree, I couldn't organize my fridge like that or whatever. I get little tips from them but overall I like to see it all organized and looks beautiful, but it doesn't translate to my level.. I LOVED Reese's room with her acting clothing.. that was really cute. I think the 'girls' are a little much, so I can only watch the show in small doses.

I haven’t seen the show, though I know what you’re referring to, but I believe it comes down to how you’re wired. Personally things broken up visually and physically really help me function. It’s sort of like folders on a computer. Order is very relaxing to me. I love being able to see things at a glance in clear containers. And I much prefer some things stored in airtight containers. But unless you are emptying the container before refilling every time, the stuff at the bottom is going to get stale. So you just have to store refills in their original containers until then. And then where do you store those? Next to the ones in the container? That sort of defeats part of the purpose of having matching containers, saving room and a cohesive look. So the only things I do this with are my baking goods, everything else I prefer in their original packaging. There is value in storing things in containers in the fridge and pantry. It makes it easier to move things around to clean or grab another item. Only yogurt? They’re temporary and we just stack ours (on the breakfast shelf ) so I don’t see that being a big benefit. But say, a group of condiments? Much easier to pull out a bin, find what you want, and push the bin back in. Easy to rearrange the space when needed, and with the bonus of containing any mess. Our pantry has lots of bins to keep like with like and for ease of access: nuts, baking flavor ingredients, baking reactionary ingredients, produce, DH’s morning coffee supplies (coffee, grinder, sweetener, French press), drinks mixes/tea, etc. Having a very set, confined space has helped us avoid buying duplicate supplies many times. Just like busy , as pretty as it is storing most items by color order doesn’t work for the way I think, so I don’t use that technique. An exception being my closet. I sort by garment type, then by color. I’d be interested in watching a few shows to see if they have any techniques that I haven’t been exposed to yet, but after that I don’t think I’d get much out of this particular show. And I love all things organizing.

I think that would drive my anal self mad. All of those different sizes would make it difficult to line everything up neatly. I may have issues, I own this

That level of organization does spark some sort of pleasure in me, but it's not truly realistic for everyday life. I have watched a number of their episodes and follow them on insta because there are some good ideas that I can adapt to my own needs and space.
For years I've had the mantra "Organization is next to godliness." I do dearly love things to be orderly and well organized. I regularly tweak my drawers, cabinets, pantries, and closets to keep them neat and know what's in them. I guess that show is meant for people like me. Lol.

If you get all the feels walking through the container store... then you need to see the books. The eye candy is 😍 for organizing nerds like me. I checked them out from my library but ended up buying my own copies to keep.

I watched it. It's not my favorite. I think I got more pleasure out of criticizing the hosts than learning anything. Some of the rooms they did turned out nice but I thought a lot of it was impractical. I've always used a rainbow type of organization my craft room, but it doesn't apply to a lot of things. There is no reason in the world to organize books by color. And they admit that they don't cook. How can you organize a kitchen if you don't cook?
Personally, I get great joy out of finding the cheapest way to store things. If I can recycle something into storage, that makes me happier than going out and buying storage for the most part. The main goal of this show is to get you to buy their products.

I’ve seen the show and it’s ok. I need to find the fridge and pantry shows—I love organizing that stuff.
I saw a show with a Kardashian and it was just ridiculous and had to have been fake. Storing perfume and makeup “gifts” in the garage. Really? They kept talking about new lines and how they wanted the stuff organized. A garage in the summer gets up to 120 degrees—makeup and perfume would melt or evaporate. And there just wasn’t enough product for a new line or an old line. Surely they have a huge house with somewhere else to store that. Like an office? . And organizing 10 or so battery operated kiddie cars—no kid needs that many. It was just too fake.
I saw the Reese episode and while I loved the organization, does she really have an entire closet for just the clothes from one show? Why? She said that she didn’t wear the shoes and they were Jimmy Choo’s! What a waste. Either put it in a museum or wear it. I just couldn’t relate.

I only watched a couple episodes and I agree. I wish they had some episodes dedicated to smaller homes with less storage. I love the refrigerator storage ideas, but my refrigerator isn't big enough. And we only have one, so I can't make our main one "pretty" and have all the other stuff in a basement refrigerator. but if I had the space and money, I would be all over it! I did want to make my messy pantry look prettier, so I got a bunch of containers at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods over time. But it is double storage. I have what fits in the containers in the pantry and the "leftovers" stored in my closet (because like I said, no storage in my kitchen).
I told my husband if he gets a bonus, I really want a second refrigerator. It doesn't have to be big, just a little smaller than standard is good. We waste so much food because our refrigerator is so full that we can't reach the back to find produce and leftovers. We have 5 of us living here, including kids ages 17, 21 and 23. So 5 adults is a lot of food!

I watched it and I liked looking at the “after” pics/videos.
Personally I just like looking at all the coordinated and organized things. With that said, do I want 6 acrylic bins to store my different colored pens? No. Because I don’t have that many pens...lol
With the pandemic and me staying home more than usual, I have started organizing the house one tiny spot at a time. I am going with functional over “color coordinated”. And I am starting to hate all the clear bins and acrylics stuff because of the hand prints and marks...grrrr.

For Reese those are her memories so I see why she keeps it. She has the space and money to do so. At least she can walk in her closet and see her stuff. A lot of those celebrities store that stuff never to be seen again. I say that is my version of the clothes I have kept from when my kids were little... some may find it silly but I don’t.

I’ve got jewelry in old muffin tins and office supplies in old cigar boxes and Christmas decorations in Fiestaware place setting boxes and food in jars not-one-of-which-matches-another. I can be very organized while still having a goal not to buy new plastic. Luckily, my aesthetic matches my spending and environment goals, as I prefer the Diagon Alley look.

I watched all the Netflix episodes, not on Instagram and have not watched any Youtube videos. I have adapted some ideas and I do keep "back stock". I had started buying OXO canisters before I every heard of them, but have since finished my pantry. I'm using more lazy susans than I thought possible . The clear containers do help me find things in my small closet pantry. I'll watch any new episodes.

I watched it a couple of months ago. I didn't like the celebrity segments but did enjoy some of the others. I liked how they took the customers needs and habits into consideration when reconfiguring the space. I think it's a little overboard with the containers although I have used containers in my refrigerator & freezer for a long time - just not for everything. And as visually appealing it is to have books in rainbow order, it's not something I would ever do. Is that book under G for Grisham, R for Rainmaker or Yellow? ha!

I agree that it’s all in how you’re wired. I don’t derive any pleasure from an overly organized pantry or cabinet, but I have a friend who could label things and organize in containers for hours. She’s forever organizing and reorganizing.

Also, the closet they did for Reese was for all of her memorabilia clothing, it wasn’t just one show. It included dresses she wore to different awards shows and items from all of her movies.

Towards summer when it’s safer, check FB Marketplace. When we moved to Belgium, we sold our extra fridge for $100. It was probably 20 years old and we bought it used from a friend. I needed it gone fast, as I also needed it right up until we moved out. You can get some great deals there!

We have a smaller size second refrigerator and it's just the two of us here. I love it! I keep our beverages in it. But, over the holidays and when our grandkids visit we fill that thing up! We bought a scratch & dent refrigerator from a local appliance store for half price. I don't care if there are scratches on it.

I thought the whole rainbow thing was ridiculous too. About the only thing I'd ever consider arranging by ROYBGIV would be my bookshelf.
I'm an organizing fiend too but they were far too impractical for me. I only watched that one Reese episode and then stopped. I get liking seeing rich people stuff, but stopped because I found all the giggling and squealing far too annoying. I get way more info from that darling Organized Soprano on YouTube.
I do decant everything in my pantry though. I got pantry moths once, years and years ago and that freaked me out so bad I won't allow anything open or unsealed in my pantry without being in a storage container of some kind. Backstock just goes in the back. I mostly use Lock & Lock tall rectangulars, some OXOs and I love glass canning jars for things like beans and smaller pastas. My pantry is super organized and things are lined up so it makes grocery shopping much easier when I can see what I have easily.

I am so torn on the container thing, especially in the pantry. I feel like they take up space that could be housing items. A lot of these organizers leave a good inch between the containers so if you add it up, there is like 6" of wasted space on every shelf. 🤔

I don’t care if it’s a TV show; men wouldn’t be portrayed that way.

Or maybe they're comfortable with who they are and confident that their work proves their professionals, not acting in a certain way prescribed/expected by others. That's the beauty in running your own company or working in a less uptight workplace. I have many thoughts about what we describe as "professional" behavior/dress, especially among women and people of color, after being fully entrenched in a conservative industry for many years and now working in a completely different environment.
