As someone who has worked for the DoD, it is not new for a message to be sent out before an election or inauguration reminding military and civilians of the Hatch Act and their obligation to the Constitution.

This guy is wearing a “We the People” t-shirt. Anyone who attacks the government because of conspiracy theories is not part of “We the People”.

Anyone who hasn't seen this coming for the past 30 years (at least) just hasn't been paying attention. Willful ignorance. "I got mine, F U." or "I don't care about politics!" ps -as one of the twitter replies said

MEMORANDUM FOR THE JOINT FORCE SUBJECT: MESSAGE TO THE JOINT FORCE
The American people have trusted the Armed Forces of the United States to protect them and our Constitution for almost 250 years. As we have done throughout our history, the U.S. military will obey lawful orders from civilian leadership, support civil authorities to protect lives and property, ensure public safety in accordance with the law, and remain fully committed to protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
The violent riot in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 was a direct assault on the U.S. Congress, the Capitol building, and our Constitutional process. We mourn the deaths of the two Capitol policemen and others connected to these unprecedented events.
We witnessed actions inside the Capitol building that were inconsistent with the rule of law. The rights of freedom of speech and assembly do not give anyone the right to resort to violence, sedition and insurrection.
As Service Members, we must embody the values and ideals of the Nation. We support and defend the Constitution. Any act to disrupt the Constitutional process is not only against our traditions, values, and oath; it is against the law.
On January 20, 2021, in accordance with the Constitution, confirmed by the states and the courts, and certified by Congress, President-elect Biden will be inaugurated and will become our 46th Commander in Chief.
To our men and women deployed and at home, safeguarding our country-stay ready, keep your eyes on the horizon, and remain focused on the mission. We honor your continued service in defense of every American.

Mark A. Milley General, U.S. Army Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
John E. Hyten General, U.S. Air Force Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

I'm actually quite surprised that there wasn't something sent out WELL before last Wednesday.

Oh God, this is so worrisome on so many levels. Does anyone know where the US military is in the vaccine line? I'm thinking national guard troops should have been first on the list. I asked my sailor last week. It is not mandatory at this time. He hasn't heard when it will come down the pike for them.

I'm very surprised it isn't mandatory (yet?), I'm sad that it sounds like they don't even know when it will be available. Praying for the safety of your sailor.

There have been nothing but "warnings" for 30 years. More in the last 5. More even in the last 1. Most in the last 2 months. The idiot "I don't do politics" people don't want to know. The money "it's just rhetoric" people don't want to act. And this is what comes of mollycoddling a narcissistic toddler and his mob-like goons.

There is voluntary access at this time because my neighbor got hers thru military voluntarily. Outside of our states rules, no waiting. She applied, got a time and done.

How does that navy seal not know the definition of “terrorist”? He clearly fits that definition, especially by saying they wanted to leave lawmakers “shaking in their boots,”.
I’m also curious to know what those in the military are told of how people are radicalized. Clearly, he fits that description as well. Other terrorist groups also believe the lies and rhetoric that they are told, and think their actions are justified. We need to approach these domestic terrorists in the same way we do foreign terrorists. The radicalization process needs to be addressed and that starts with republicans who don’t agree, denouncing the crazy.
