I can’t believe no one has mentioned this on the board yet! This such a game changer! I’m thinking besides stamps, stencils, paper towels, ( which have amazing texture btw ) baby hand & foot prints 😊 There are so many possibilities! Now I’m going thru my house seeing what I can use to stamp 😂🤣😂 ( from the Ranger website) Simon Hurley create. Stamping Foam are moldable foam pieces that are great for creating original and unique stamps. To use, heat foam with Heat It Craft Tool. Then, press foam into textured surface and hold in place for 5-10 seconds. Ink with Simon Hurley create. Dye Ink Pads and stamp. The foam can be reheated and remolded to use over and over again. Includes 4 pieces of foam each measuring 3” x 4.25” with a 20 mm depth. rangerink.com/collections/new-products/products/simon-hurley-create-stamping-foam

Sounds like it would be a lot of fun to use in art journaling.

Clearsnap had something like that years ago -- it was fun to use! I'm glad to see it making a comeback.

I have a blue ‘stamping foam’ block from years ago that bought on clearance that is moldable. Mine doesn’t make a crisp print. ( I also didn’t think mine would remold but maybe I’ll give it a try? )
I’ll keep it in mind next time I order from ranger

I cut foam stamps using my silhouette all the time - custom stamps - cheap - using stuff I already have instead of new stuff

@zingermack, thank you so much for sharing that video! I never thought of doing that, but I am constantly tempted by foam stamps. This would definitely be a fun project to try.

I'll have to dig out some of my Clearsnap products from back in the day...not only did they have the foam blocks, they had these little 1x1 pads that would attach to a stick. You would heat the pad and then press it to a similarly sized texture spot on a sheet of unmounted rubber. If you search for "clearsnap molding mat," you'll see what I mean.

I remember seeing something like it 20 years ago or so when I started stamping... The price of it is nice too, it will be fun to create some fun backgrounds.

Didn't they have that stuff years ago - it was called penscore or some such thing. I remember message board posts of different foam things that worked similarly - brands of kids' foam blocks and that sort of thing.
Not saying it doesn't look like fun, just more proof that everything old is new again . . .

Yes, I think I remember seeing something about heating fun foam with a heat gun, then pressing it into deep-cut stamps, and then using that as an embellishment--like it was almost...this--but inside out. It would be really cool if this is something that can be re-used and doesn't require a deep/crisp texture to still pick up the texture. Very cool!!

I did that back on the day - the fun foam piece ended up looking like leather. I need to do that again.

I saw that on his IG reels today. I think he showed it as a way that you could stamp a positive image of a stamp and then press the stamp into the fun to stamp a negative version. Looked interesting. I have a few stamps that might be fun to try with, so I don't have to color them in. I could just stamp the insides with a negative of the stamp. Hmmm. Interesting.
I liked the reusability of it.
Not meaning to be rude to anybody but Simon may not have been born the last time this was around! 😆

I think it’s been around for a while too. I have some blue foam that does the same thing. Probably should dig it out and see if it still works 🙄

Not meaning to be rude to anybody but Simon may not have been born the last time this was around! 😆 Well, that might be true. I wasn’t meaning any disrespect mentioning I have something similar from a long time ago. It’s good to have stuff come back in a possibly better format

He’s going to demo it in the Scrap Smarter Experience today. I missed this trend the first time around so I’m interested to see it in action.

I didn't mean any disrespect with my "everything old is new again" comment - it's just a commentary on how things come back around. When I first got onto stamping, there was a huge rainbow trend on the way out - the sponges and inks for it were on clearance everywhere. And what have almost all the you tubers been showing this year? Ink blended or die cut rainbows. And we'll hit saturation with that, where no one can stand rainows anymore and they'll be on to something else. Maybe even (shudder)cutting photos into shapes

I’m watching his Scrap Smarter demo. He just made a background stamp with it using the pattern on a paper towel.

I didn't mean any disrespect with my "everything old is new again" comment I don't think anyone took it as disrespectful - well, I certainly didn't anyway! I was just hoping not to be rude to either (very young) Simon or any of the (somewhat older) folks around here. All of these things have their cycles it's true in almost everything. I had no idea this idea had been around before when I saw Simon demonstrating it, but there aren't a lot of genuinely unique ideas that crafters haven't thought of before, so I wasn't surprised. We're crafty that way

I ordered some, and can't wait to try it. I'm thinking bubble wrap may be fun with it. I can't wait to see what people do with it.

Have to try that on my GelliPlate! ---- infochick found another video for you - she doesn't even use a silhouette

Here’s a demo of the foam. He says that there used to be a similar product youtu.be/0zjwrYQKm-AMeanwhile, what happened to his studio? That is a sparse room compared to what he used to film in, is he at college now?
