My soda stream is just shy of 8 years old. Recently it stopped lighting up as I'm adding carbonation to the water. As a result, I'm thinking about replacing it. If you've purchased a Soda Stream in the last year or two, which model do you have, and are you happy with it? I'm debating between the Fizzi or the One Touch. Thanks a bunch! ETA: nevermind. I did some googling and made my decision If anyone knows how to delete an entire thread and it's subject, would you please let me know? Thanks!

Wish I could help. Mine is going on 20+ years and still going strong. I replaced the connection so I could refill it at Dick’s sporting goods. I still use it pretty much every day.

Can you tell me more? I stopped using mine because I only had BBB to replace canisters and there isn’t one anywhere on my errand route and it was a total PITA.

You could do the exchange CO2 program with BB&B via mail.
MichyM: Don't know the reason you'd want to delete the thread, but I've had SodaStreams since they were first around. They've replaced a few of them for me because they stopped working after a year or so. They sent me a good one that I couldn't mess up. I'd have to check the name of that one, but they change them all the time!
DH bought me a basic one a year ago and it was pretty good. I do hate having to replace the CO2 cartridges, and I like doing the replacement ones. They haven't seemed to be as strong, but maybe it's my imagination. I'm not supposed to have really strong bubbles anyway... Hope you came up with another solution--please let us know!! Some of us are addicted to our SodaStream!

Oh don’t delete! I gave mine to my DD and she says it’s stopped working. I’ve been thinking about getting another one, but I’ve been wondering if more expensive means better.
Someone mentioned a mail in program. I did not know about that, so thanks!

By Mail sounds like even more of a hassle, how does that work?

By Mail sounds like even more of a hassle, how does that work? They were going to go to all refills by mail several years ago but users rebelled, so they only use it as an option. IIRC they send you 2 full cannisters, and you mail back 2 empty ones in the same box, so you'd probably want 4 in rotation. But check the site if you need better/more reliable details, the info is all there. I didn't pay close attention since I can get refills at several nearby pharmacies (including mine) and a nice grocery store. I think Whole Foods and/or Amazon are also on board with refills.

We don’t have a mailbox we can drop packages in, our post office never has parking during the day, it was so much easier when we could use Target! When you say pharmacies do you mean like a Walgreens or your fancy Bartells stores or more like a dedicated pharmacy? Wondering what a nice grocery store would be, QFC?

Bartell's, I have 2 within a mile of me. I think CVS has them. I have no idea where there's a Walgreens. I wonder if there are many here. As to the grocery store, Metropolitan Market. You've gone to ther website to see if you're missing any options near you, right?

It lists Target, but you can only buy new ones there, not exchange. Same with Fred Meyers. I will Walgreens tomorrow, since that is about as close as we have to Bartells. I miss Bartells. I don’t know why we can’t have nice things like that down here!

Can you tell me more? I stopped using mine because I only had BBB to replace canisters and there isn’t one anywhere on my errand route and it was a total PITA. We did it a while back. The soda stream machine has a special fitting that requires their special CO2 cylinder that can only be bought from soda stream. We ordered an adapter fitting that allows the soda stream to use a standard CO2 cylinder that can be refilled anywhere. I purchased a couple standard cylinders (they were paintball cylinders). You can get the cylinders refilled at any place that refills for paintball bottles. Mine is an older machine that uses large cylinders; I don't think sodastream even makes those anymore. I'm sure you can find videos on youtube that show your exact model and what you need to convert it. I don't remember the exact cost of the refills-- maybe $15? Each tank lasts for about 6 months. seaexplore

I just got a Fizzi and have gone through a canister already (I set it up on the 1st). Not sure if that is normal or not lol I like my water bubbly and have 2-3 bottles a day (plus extra still water). Im loving it. Going after work to exchange my canister. Im in Canada and we had a whole shwack of places I can exchange in my little town (Im pleasantly impressed with that).

I also have a Fizzi and live in Canada I go through so much water ... but I get my refills at Best Buy ... it's about $22 CAD ... cheaper than the $35 for a new one

Its just a matter of picking which is the closest to work on the way home Im so glad they have kept the stores for the exchange program here in Canada.

I have swapped over to Soda Sense for refills...they have a mail order refill subscription.
They recently came out with Soda Sensi. They allow you to carbonate ANY liquid, where the soda stream specifies it should be water only. Gotta say I was a little grossed out when they included milk in a list of liquids that would be great to carbonate.
