Anybody doing it or have done it in the past? I had success on Weight watchers 1 .5 years ago pre COVID. I’ve gained 10-12 lbs back I’d lost 35. I can’t get WW to work again. Looking to switch i5 up

I tried it for a few months when they first came out. I don't know if they've improved, but I didn't think it was worth paying for. It's basically like My Fitness Pal with a message board. The food diary database was terrible. Almost everything had to be entered manually. And, the coaching wasn't all it was hyped up to be. From what I could tell, there wasn't anything that made Noom better than free options.
I'd recommend using My Fitness Pal instead. The free features are great. The food database is outstanding. If you have a FitBit, the two apps will sync flawlessly. For advice and moral support, go to one of the many free message boards online. I think there's even a group here.

I signed up for the trial period in September and did two weeks and then went back to Weight Watchers.
I found the food tracking inconsistent. if I input coffee cream, it was a yellow food and if I input coffee with cream all of a sudden it was a green food. I also found the “coaching” really fake (I think it’s all bots) so you get messages a question to answer each morning, some unrelated fake comment and then nothing until the next morning. It wasn’t a feel good feeling.
I track in Weight Watchers but my local fitness studio has wellness challenges (online) and they come with a clean eating guide so that is what motivates me. I did the 5 week challenge in September, followed the food plan and did at least three online fitness classes per week. I lost 10lbs and quite a few inches and was able to carry on with new habits. I need real people in my face to keep me accountable.

I just started it last week. So far it is fine. It really helps me to log what I eat. It makes me mindful of what I am putting in my mouth and how often I am snacking. I definitely feel like it is a doable plan. Initially I was skeptical because it felt like the calorie allowance I was given was so low, but now I realize if you exercise they increase your calorie allowance. (If you use 200 calories they give you 100 calories back so you still are burning more than you are consuming)
I did WW before and while I did lose weight I did not feel like I could keep it up as a lifestyle. I feel like I could keep this up. I don't know if I will lose the weight as quickly as I did before. It's too early to tell, but I already feel better.

I tried its trial once and and quit before it was over. It was an absurdly low calorie plan.
ETA: My daily allowance was 1200 calories. I'm 5' 8", was 45 at the time, and had about 15 pounds to lose. I also exercise 5-6 times a week and burn an average of 600-700 calories in each session. Noom would add back half of those, so my daily would be 1500-1550. That made my actual net calories sub-1000, which is just too damn low to be healthy. My coach encouraged me not to raise my calories, that I would adjust, even though I felt like utter garbage and was clearly under-fueled.
And yes, I could do whatever I want and adjust my calories but why pay for their service if their coach and their calorie algo are working against me instead of with me?

I lost 16 lbs in the second half of 2020 on Noom. I was looking for something new and fresh. I did the free trial and was hooked immediately. I just re-upped. At the risk of sounding corny, I did learn quite a bit about the psychology of why I do what I do, and I was able to change some habits that I didn’t even realize I was engaging in. The personal coaching can be a little canned but I do enjoy my group.
16 lbs might not seem like a lot, esp when you have a lot to lose, but I’m still very proud of myself. Ultimately I would like to lose 50 more lbs. I hope to lose 20 in 2021. I know this might seem slow, but I’m in this for the long haul.
For context, I am a veteran of WW, although I haven’t done it in about 15 years. More recently, I have used My Fitness Pal, but it was missing something for me.

I tried the trial and then quit as they wanted over $900 to continue the program. Then they emailed with a 90% off offer...but it was still over $300 (which I know Im not great at math, but that isnt 90% off). I agree that there are other options out there.

My friend was doing it, and she didn't see much success at all. She decided to switch to IF since she saw that I was having so much success with an IF lifestyle.

I’ve used the Lose It! app for more than two years and love it. My husband has been using it for a year and it works for him too. (Disclaimer: I don’t have any association with it other than loving it.)
