Placed an order at Sephora last week. They shipped via OnTrac (ugh), the tracking information said it was delivered to my front door at 7:32 PM Wednesday. It was not. I messaged Sephora yesterday to tell them and they immediately said they would send out a replacement shipment (how quickly she said that - seriously, didn't ask me a single question lol - made me think they've had a lot of issues with missing deliveries).
This morning, I got a shipping notification for the replacement. Today at around 2 PM, the original package was delivered.
WWPD?

I'd let Sephardic know. 90% of the time they tell you to keep it

I would contact Sephora and offer to send back shipment 2 when it arrives. To be honest, I’m actually surprised that this is a question.

I would call Sephora to let them know that the missing package finally showed up and ask them to cancel delivery of the replacement package. I'd let them figure out the logistics as long as it doesn't involve me having to make a special trip to the post office or UPS.

I had a package that said it was delivered last month but it wasn’t. I talked to L.L.Bean and we decided to wait a day or two to see if it showed up before shipping a replacement. Sure enough, next day a neighbor in the next court over showed up with my package.
I would return the replacement package.

Refuse the second package and call Sephora to tell them you are doing that.

I had to do a chat with Costco yesterday for a missing cash card that was shipped to my DD Dec. 31. There was no tracking number so I had no idea where it was in the shipping process.
They told me to give it another 5 business days because they had a lot of deliveries running very behind.
And of course, the card was in her mailbox when she got home LOL.
I’m glad they told me to wait and did not issue a replacement when I called.

We have awful mail service here (even before COVID). I always wait until the next day before I worry about missing mail or a package.

Honestly, nothing.
Edited - but I also would have waited at least a week or even two before contacting Sephora. I’m lazy with things like this.

Once you have two products in hand then I would call Sephora back and ask them what they want you to do.
I'm in that situation right now with Amazon. They said by package was delivered on Sunday, but I never got it. On Wednesday I messaged them and they sent a replacement. If a second item arrives, I'll ask Amazon what they want me to do.

I’ve learned that OnTrac will mark things as delivered when they reach the post office, so I give packages an extra day to arrive before I report them as lost or stolen. I did that with an item from Ulta that ended up being out of stock when I reported the issue, they refunded me and the next day the package was on my door step. I didn’t do anything about it, I just kept the item. I wouldn’t do anything in your situation either. It isn’t something I would do habitually, obviously, so I don’t feel bad about keeping the product.

Once you have two products in hand then I would call Sephora back and ask them what they want you to do. Yes, this is exactly what I would do. If you pretend you never got one of the orders and keep them both without telling Sephora, then that counts as stealing in my book. If Sephora says keep it, then hooray, free stuff.

I had the exact problem yesterday too.
OnTrac said order was left on my front door but it was not. I called and was told by the store that ontrac marks the orders delivered when they are not. The store gave me a partial refund for calling and would resend if the package didn’t show in 24 hours.
My package must have been delivered to the wrong address because someone dropped it off a few hours later. It was definitely not a delivery person. I saw it on my Nest.
I too hate OnTrac.
