It seems like everyday a new one pops up.
I keep seeing Discovery+ now. A lot of HGTV programming is going on to that. Every comment I see posted is that everyone has had enough and doesn't want to pay yet another monthly fee to watch content.
I think the Fixer Upper/ Magnolia Network that Joanna Gaines is starting will be on Discovery+. I enjoyed her look and decor style, but it has kind of become 'meh' to me at this point. I enjoy seeing actual peoples decor on Instagram, etc., more than watching a show now.
CBS All Access, AMC+, Sundance NOW, and the list can go on.
I have Netflix, Prime, and Disney+ right now. I don't even watch Disney+ enough to keep it, but my kids have been using it too, so I will for now. I have a year of Apple TV to redeem from my new phone.
Is there a line in the sand that you draw? Will all these streaming services survive?

We pay year round for Netflix, CBS, PBS, and Disney+.
I start up and pay for 2-3 months of others as I want them. Acorn, Brit box, starz, soon Discovery. Hulu will be dropped soon as we find ourselves watching it less and less.

I still have fully loaded cable and I pay for Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. Roughly $20 total for all 3. I have Apple free for a year, not sure I'll renew it when that ends yet. Also Amazon, but I don't count that as it's included in my annual Prime membership. I'm at my max for what I'm willing to pay for. Several of the ones mentioned about like CBS, Sundance and PBS I can stream but do not have to pay for since I still have cable. I just log in with my provider. Discover+ is the first one that doesn't include that.

Our subscriptions are a bit on the ridiculous side right now but due to COVID and staying home we are saving more money because we are not galavanting about spending money on entry fees, dining out, shopping, etc., so I guess you could say it is a wash right now. - We pay consistently for Hulu+, Netflix and Apple One. Those three run about $65 monthly.
- Amazon Prime just renewed, too. It comes out to about $11/month
- We subscribe to Sling during football season so DH can get all the college and pro football games. That is usually five months at $42/month.
- I cancelled HBO and CBS All Access last month since they weren't being used a lot.
- We get Disney+, ESPN+ and regular Hulu (with commercials) through Verizon for free.
All in all - for television purposes - we spend around $75/month (minus Sling) for streaming services which is better than the almost $200/month we were spending on cable TV or satellite TV five years ago when we cut the cord.
Another subscription I did not include above is Adobe Creative Cloud. I get at a student discount so that helps quite a bit. This one is non-negotiable since I use the tools for my major hobby. We don't really have a limit but I do review our subscriptions on a quarterly basis and if they are not being used I will cancel the service.

We cut the cord 4 years ago. In that time our total bill has become the same as what we were paying with cable. (note: we've only ever had 1 tv and never carried HBO, etc.) For someone who doesn't watch much tv/streaming, it annoys me. DH refuses to get rid of most of it though. Current lineup: YouTube Tv, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple+ (no one watches but DH refuses to let it go), Discovery+, Friendly, and ESPN. Then add in the music streaming subscriptions and who knows what else and you get subscription fatigue! There are going to be quite a few more shows on Magnolia Network that are not about Joanna and her look. Some of them look really interesting. I'm looking forward Growing Floret, which follows a family owned flower seed farm in Washington state. So far it has been worth the $4.99/mo for me.

I still pay a crazy price for cable but I watch a lot of TV on those channels ... it includes my internet as well ... I don't see myself ever cutting the cord I also pay for Netflix every month ... worth it for me I get Amazon Prime with my subscription but I don't watch anything on there so far

I have several, but that’s also because I’m overseas. I don’t really count Prime, as I use that primarily for shipping. Sling and Hulu are mostly for network TV, although Hulu has some of its own programming. We mostly watch Netflix and change the VPN to all over the world to watch certain shows (The Office is on Netflix Australia). Other services come and go as there’s something that we want to watch, then I’ll cancel it. All in all, we pay about $70, $150 if you include our internet/Belgium cable, which also includes my cell phone. It’s still way cheaper than what we paid in the US if you consider my cell plan.

We have cable (need it for sports). We get Hulu, Disney+, and Discovery+ included with our Verizon mobile plan.
We also have Apple One Premier, which includes Apple TV+. It’s basically free since we were already paying for Apple Music family and 2 TB of iCloud.
I stop and start Netflix when there are things I want to watch.
Oh, and Amazon Prime Video with our Prime account.
I’ll not go into software subscriptions LOL. Those easily total $100/mo 😬
I do a thorough audit of all digital subscriptions every January, so everything we’re currently subscribed to is actively used. It’s a rather outrageous list, though.

Right now we have Prime, Netflix,, fubo, and Disney+. We’re thinking about canceling Netflix now that The Office has moved to Peacock and we really only wanted Disney+ for The Mandalorian. I don’t watch a lot of tv so it’s up to DH to decide on what to sub or unsub. I don’t think I’d even notice if we stopped subbing to Disney.

this is a thread I'll be following... we *finally* just got rid of our cable, and will be switching to streaming services since we recently got a new Smart TV. Discovery+ is one we actually wanted to get, because that group of channels is mostly what we watched on cable-- History, Science, Food Network, Discovery, etc. But my DH just found out that it isn't available on our smart TV unless he mirrors it from his iPad. And when we tried that, it stuttered/hung up. a LOT.
I think there's a lot we need to figure out about streaming... but we want to see a significant $$ savings from the cable package cost, so we won't be getting too many of them.

crimsoncat05 we’ve run into the issue with our smart TVs not being as smart as they claim. Our LGs don’t have the HBOMax app, so we have to use a separate streaming device. It’s frustrating. It also couldn’t do Sling when we had that service. I know it’s a proprietary contract with another manufacturer but it still pisses me off that now I have to figure it out with MORE hardware.

We have Netflix, Disney, Apple and prime. I subscribe to cbs during big brother season. Every once in a while I consider adding Hulu but then remember I find plenty to watch with what I have already.

This has been a discussion in our house lately because I say we have too many. I also don't use them so that is why I say it is easy to get rid of some of them. We have Spotify, Sirius, Netflix and Amazon. We also have Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle but that is free through our Verizon plan. I believe we also have Apple TV free for 6 months or a year through Verizon as well.

I really need to sit down to see what we are all paying.. My kids pay for some and I pay for some and I think a couple have overlapped. Different TVs in the house and one kid will log into their account which I didn't know they had (which messed up with what I was watching thinking I was turning on the TV to my login.. does that even make sense?)
Maybe that will be a goal for February!!!!
We have Netflix Hulu Amazon Prime (which we use more for shipping) Directv (which I swear I keep saying I am going to cancel) Disney+ I think.. but just switched phone carriers so probably lost it.

Right now we have Netflix, Amazon and Disney+. I don’t need more. We can’t even watch all those. I haven’t redeemed my free Apple TV yet. We still have cable tv, so I feel like we are paying a lot already. Remember when TV was free! Lol!

Apparently I don't have one. But I am not adding anything else. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Apple TV and HBO Max. I get Disney+ from a shared account. It is insane. If shows go to new streaming services, I just won't watch them.

I have Xfinity and while for awhile I wanted to cut the cord, but that's simply not going to happen.
With Xfinity I get free Premium Peacock, but I have upgraded to the commercial free version which is $5/month.
Between myself and my BFF, we have Amazon Prime and Netflix (shared accounts).
I have HBO included with Xfinity, so have "free" access to HBO Max.

Our LGs don’t have the HBOMax app yeah, that must be it- we have an LG tv, too. It *should* be like your phone, where you can add apps to it, but it's not, huh? that sucks. eta: our cable + internet+ home phone bundle was > $200, and that was withOUT any premium movie channels. My DH got rid of everything and renegotiated for just faster internet for streaming. Now we have to figure out what streaming services we want / can get. I think he read that Discovery+ could be used with Apple tv somehow, but we need to do more research. Discovery+ is something really cheap, like $7 or $8 per month, for all that programming. It would be great if we could figure out how to get it to work.

We have Prime, Netflix, and the Disney+/Hulu combo. We love Disney+ and use that a lot and I am super excited the original Muppet Show is coming next month. We got the super smoking 3 year deal, but will keep it even after that. I am really worried Psych is going to move to Peacock behind the paywall and if that happens we may have to add that. Since we lost Office and Parks and Rec to Peacock having Psych move there would be too much for me.

We pay for what we’re watching that month.
All of these services literally have a button on the app that says pause subscription. Hit pause and unpause whenever you want. It’s not a commitment.
It could not be any easier to juggle subscriptions.
I paid for Disney+ during The Mandalorian season, then paused it. I paid for HBOMAX until we finished Big Bang Theory, then paused it. I pay for CBS All Access while Young Sheldon’s on, then pause it.

Everything I see on their site says that is not possible and that you have to cancel. Same with CBS All Access. Netflix is super easy to pause though.

I keep debating the best way to do this. I watch my boyfriend hop all over the place to find what he wants to watch, and it gets frustrating.
I have Dish to the tune of $80/month - their smallest package plus networks and equipment. I keep it for the local ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX channels combined with the DVR. Amazon Prime and HBO Max are included with other things I purchase (Prime and my Internet/Cell Phone). That leaves Netflix and CBS All Access that I pay for monthly ($20ish) and Disney+ annually.
Then there is what I consider "on demand" - CBS is seasonal for me - if there is something on it I want, I turn it on. I'm considering adding Peacock long enough to watch Saved by the Bell, and I did that with Hulu when Veronica Mars had a season a year or so ago.
All in all, its just a lot and it would be easier if I could get everything in one place, but I don't think that place exists.

Is hitting stop/start harder than hitting pause/unpause? You hit the button. You stop getting charged. If you want to watch it again, you go back into the app and hit start. All your account info is still there and you don’t have to do anything or reenter any info to start the streaming back up.

Several of the ones mentioned about like CBS, Sundance and PBS I can stream but do not have to pay for since I still have cable. I get CBS Sundance, Discovery etc. on the Dish - but they now have Premium channels that you have to pay extra for. That's what frost my hide. CBS All Access, Discovery+, SundanceNow - they all cost extra. They seem to offer a show for a while on the free, then switch to to the extra cost streaming network. But my DH just found out that it isn't available on our smart TV unless he mirrors it from his iPad. yeah, that must be it- we have an LG tv, too. It *should* be like your phone, where you can add apps to it, but it's not, huh? that sucks. LG here too. I love the TV, but it does not have a lot of the newer apps. I bought the cheapest ROKU stick and plugged that in. I like that I can just run it from my phone or the little remote.

I bought the cheapest ROKU stick and plugged that in. I like that I can just run it from my phone or the little remote. can you run the newer apps thru the Roku stick and get a good, seamless picture? my DH tried mirroring a Discovery+ show (Planet Earth, narrated by David Attenborough) from his iPad but we got so disgusted with the stuttering picture that we couldn't watch any more than a minute or two. eta: the Cox store also gave us one of those plug-in things with the internet package, but for some reason DH thought he wouldn't need it. maybe THAT is supposed to work like a Roku stick. hmmm...
