I wonder if they will keep this for very long. Without that coupon, I rarely shop there unless they have everything from Paper Studio on sale that week. Too expensive.

I never go as it is across town and their sb section at my store sucks. But...I could drive over there to save 40%.

Unfortunately, it has been awhile since I've seen Michael's offer a 40 or 50% coupon. Every time I look - which is not that infrequently - it's 20% off. I don't know if that's a permanent thing, but they definitely do not seem to be offering it nearly as often as they did before the pandemic. JoAnn's still appears to be offering them though.

ETA: Not sure if others can use this one...

Well I have not been there in over a year, and I have not missed it. It is a measly 40% off of ONE item Hobby Lobby. There really is no need for me to go to your store. I sometimes went for entertainment browsing, but since I have been cutting back on stuff I don't need, it is more your loss than mine.

It's been the same for me. Pretty much since COVID got bad (the spring), I've only seen 20% coupons, but I've heard other people (i.e., YouTubers) talk about 40% coupons, so I wonder if they're still being offered in some regions.

I'll have to sign in the app and look. Maybe they are still offering them to rewards customers, but not for the general public.

It won’t change my shopping habit. While I appreciate the coupon, 9 times out of 10 stuff is already at 40-50% off already. I never go to Michael’s any more because they never have ATG tape in stock. That’s the only thing I buy there since they stopped carrying anything other than their in house brand.

I usually wait until what I want to be on sale for. If it's not on sale whatever week, it will be on sale the following week or two. I hardly ever used the Hobby Lobby coupon anyways.
Michaels rarely has a 40% or 50% anymore. They also did away with competitor coupons. Michaels scrapbook selection is older stuff, and those sliding sticker racks are annoying. They've had some of the same stickers and paper for years and years.
My Michaels and Joanns rarely has more than one cashier at a time. Some in the line always calls out "please call for back up cashiers". I only go there if I absolutely have to.

How disappointing.
The question now is: will J's use this to their advantage and highlight themselves as a standout or will they scale back? Possibly discontinue their occasional 60% off coupons, maybe even the 50% off ones and make 40% the new bonus coupon, opting to make 30% off the new normal?
The tools and things I would normally buy just don't come home with me anymore. Without the coupons, I don't buy anything that's not on sale or clearance at M's.
HL used to offer the 40% off coupon every other week...I could understand going back to that or even 1 every 3 weeks, but getting rid of it entirely? Just wow. And considering the prices of things continue to go up and they are removing their house brand from a lot of merchandise to not include them in their Paper Studio sales even before the pandemic. A lot of stuff is going to just sit, just like the never goes on sale stuff at M's does now.

I actually used a 60% a few days before lockdown on laminating pouches and that's been it since. If it's not on clearance or a deep discount, I don't buy anything from them anymore. I guess our region doesn't need more than the 20% coupons.
I find that I don't use the coupons at HL much, either. I actually just went in for some white cardstock to make inserts for stamp pockets as I'm out of my prepped ones, but they're good to have when I need a tool or an adhesive. There is an adhesive I've been using for a specific project that only they carry...looks like I'll be going back and using coupons for the next few weeks to stock up before full price is the only option.

our Michaels closed earlier this month and it's an hour to the nearest one now (and to the nearest Joanns) - in a good year we might go into the city a half dozen times a year. In the past twelve months, I've been once.
We do have a HL and we used the coupon everytime we went - often twice because DH and I typically buy our own hobby supplies so ring separately (not to use the coupon twice but because we have separate accounts money wise)
I'm pretty much on a buying moratorium - my stash isn't fitting in my paper/cardstock space and with the inprogress move, I'm not doing much scrapping. So other than picking up adhesive, I probably won't miss it.

I have no Hobby Lobby, so no horse in the race, but...
They are kinda shooting themselves in the foot. Many times, a coupon is the incentive that brings a customer in that may not have a plan for what they will buy, justthe determination to spend money while saving 40%.

I love HL but the closest ones are at least 45 minutes from me. I only go when I need something or am in that town. Over the past few months to a year their sales have been more selective such as 40% off but only above a certain price. I’m not too surprised or even disappointed the coupon will be gone. For me most of the time in the past year it was already one sale so I didn’t need the coupon and the sale was what brought me in. It was nice occasionally but the sales are enough. Now if the sales stopped it wouldn’t be worth me going in for most of the things there.

Exactly, I can't count how many times I have been to Michael's or JoAnn's to use a 40% off coupon to pick up "just one thing" and left with *slightly* more than that.

"We are giving you better values on thousands of items throughout our store" yeah, customers will love that... I'm sure they've analyzed how much shopping people do with and without coupons, and lately with the volume of shoppers lower, probably lower spend too, or on lower margin items, it just doesn't pay off. Most places that offer good coupons exclude so many things that it's just an exercise in frustration for me. (I don't support HL though, wouldn't shop there even if we had one.)

Oh no! I don't need it a lot because I usually only buy stuff when it's on sale, but I get my adhesive runner refills there, and they are never on sale. Not sure what I'll do about those.

Shoot.. I have a HL like a mile from me.. Although I haven't visited too much lately, I always find one little thing for that coupon. Like adhesive.

I'm not surprised. Michael's hasn't offered the 40% off coupon for a while now. I don't shop either place a lot but the coupons were nice. Just means I'll shop online with some "smaller" places more now. Too bad my LSS is now out of business....
