I love chocolate my favorites at Sees are the Bordeaux and the butterscotch squares and scotch mallows. I used to prefer dark chocolate but now it depends on the brand. I love the dark chocolate Lindt in the black or the blue the extra dark are too dark for me.
Ive never tried some of the chocolates mentioned but think I need to keep an eye out.

I like dark or milk chocolate. Mint, caramel or a truffle or ganache if it's just a plain chocolate flavour. I don't like fruit flavours or nuts in chocolate. MichyM we just got a Purdy's, it opened after the spring closures re-opened, they were scheduled to open in March-ish.

La Maison du Chocolat is my favorite because I first had it in Paris. Pricy, but amazing! One of our favorites as well. However, if it comes from France, Belgium or Switzerland I am happy. Jean-Paul Hévin chocolates (Paris) are really good. From Switzerland - Callier and Lindt are my preferred, while Neuhaus and Leonidas are my go to Belgium chocolates.

English toffee from Ultimate Chocolates is my absolute favorite. It is the best English toffee I’ve ever had. I buy pounds of it for the holidays, but don’t let myself go very often other than that. The owner also makes a very good dark chocolate almond bark that I really like too, plus lots of other tasty items.
I love chocolate. I like chocolate with nuts, and I like chocolate with fruit flavors - chocolate and raspberry, chocolate and orange, chocolate and lemon. Love milk and dark. A good soft, not sticky, caramel is good too; love turtles.

Dark chocolate with chunks of sea salt. I have a terrible time finding one I like though since most include something else like caramel or nuts. Most have fine sea salt in them. I want to feel the crunch of the salt. The only one that ive really liked so far is World Market dark chocolate sea salt. so if anyone has suggestions I’m open to them!
Also Olive and Sinclair chocolate in black pepper and salt flavor. They’re made in Nashville and very good but spendy.

Has to be dark chocolate. Can enrobe marshmallow, coconut, sea salt caramel, mint, or raspberry and I’d be a happy girl!
I’m also fond of dark chocolate cover candied orange rinds. Yum!
Love chocolate and coffee flavor together too!
I do like a plain Hershey kiss too.

and where would one find these at Costco, should one look? I don't think I've ever seen them (but I haven't been looking...) I think they might be seasonal. They are usually in the area where they have the large candy bars, jerky, and trail nut snack stuff. At our store they are in the front. They are in a white and green bag. Here is a link, you can buy them elsewhere, but obviously Costco is way cheaper. It is under 10 a bag. www.onehundreddollarsamonth.com/she-loves-me/dilettante-chocolates-mint-truffles-costco/I will look for them. Thanks. (I think....)

Probably a good thing that I don't have a Costco membership then!!! Years and years and years ago one of my staff gave me a Dilettante Ephemere filled Easter Egg (probably 3” big). Omg, I was snacking on that thing for days. That was my first introduction to Dilettante. I wonder if they still have their cafe on Broadway. More than once friends and I would cap off a late night out with a treat from there. We went there once a week in college. You can buy their ephemere sauce at Safeway here and there is always a bottle in the fridge. They have a store at Sea Tac, when I have flown from there I always get myself a treat preflight. I hate flying, and I figure if something bad is going to happen I want my last meal to have been worth it. I had some sort of delicious mint cake at 8 am last time I was there. Lol on your “last” meal ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) Did you go to school up on Cap Hill? SU, or SCCC by chance?

I thought it was going to be gross, but YUM! I was told it was more of a British delicacy than North American. Does anyone know if that’s true? To our English, Scottish, Irish peas, is it common in GB?

See’s milk chocolates are my favorite! The milk almond square is the perfect mix of nut and caramel. I usually prefer caramels of some sort, but the fruit and nuts in See’s milk rum nougat is perfect. Their milk molasses chips are great too.
In terms of chocolate that I can more readily get, I’m not too choosy as long as it is milk chocolate and contains caramel. 😀

SU for 2 years until I decided everyone telling me not to become a teacher could stuff it because that is about all I am really cut out to do. I was sad to leave though, not solely because of Dick’s Drive in and Dilettantes, but they were probably my hardest goodbye. I lived between Capital Hill and downtown for a couple of years after that too. I love Seattle, but the traffic and cost of living just didn’t make it realistic especially after I decided I was going to be a teacher.

I think you’re considerably younger than me, so we probably missed being neighbors by a bit. And I totally understand why you left. Housing is just ridiculous here. RIDICULOUS. And the traffic patterns have an awful lot of influence in what I do and when (during non-Covid times).

I was there from 90-97 with a 2 year gap in there. I lived in the dorms when I was in school. I volunteered in an elementary school that was within walking distance which cemented my desire to stop the career path I felt forced into and decided to go to a school that had an education major. If I were single and independently wealthy I would love nothing more to live in downtown and work someplace I could walk. Back on topic, was there a place called Fran’s that you remember? I remember they used to make the most delicious ice cream and salted caramels but had to stop selling the ice cream because it had raw eggs. It was so good, darn health regulations!

Fran’s Chocolates in Seattle. They make the best peanut butter cups and I also love their coconut almond bars 😋
Another favorite is Harbor Sweets in Massachusetts. So many chocolates that are sooooo good!
I live in the land of See’s and love their chocolates too!

Almost anything paired with dark chocolate (raspberry, orange, candied orange peel, caramel, mint, lemon, nuts, sea salt...). There is a place that's local to me called Fleurir chocolates ( Fleurir Chocolates) and I LOVE their chocolates. DH gets them for me as a special treat - I currently have a box as a sort of after-Christmas gift. Their dark chocolate covered caramel with sea salt is one of my favorites of theirs (they have a lot of great flavors, many non-traditional), and it's also my favorite caramel ever! I love chocolate in many forms!

I like the ocassional caramel; I'm more the plain chocolate, or softer caramel, or cream filled. I love coffee flavoured, or vanilla. I'm hit or miss with mint. The Mint Meltie bar from Purdy's is the perfect balance.
Oh, and I love chocolate & peanut butter together. Love me my Purdy's peanut butter bars.
And booze. I love boozy chocolates.
Basically - no nuts, no coconut, no fruit. I will eat a fruit flavoured cream, but I don't want chunks of fruit in my chocolate. I don't want chunks of anything in my chocolate.

I managed a Purdy’s Chocolates store for about 9-10 months. My sister sent us a box of Purdy's at Christmas and while the kids were perusing the choices, I grabbed the mini hedgehog and was only slightly ashamed of myself. So hedgehogs first, then coffee cream and all the other soft centers. I do love caramel, but no nuts, coconut or marzipan. And now I'm looking at getting a Valentine box or two for the family. Maybe a whole box of hedgehogs so my kids can know what I stole from them.

Fun thread - I will now have to try these Frango mints - not only have I never tried them, I've never heard of them! For Sees specifically I was always about the nuts and chews! I am definitely a turtle fan. Although my favorite chocolate/candy growing up was Almond Roca - I have no idea if I still like it as I haven't had it in years - it comes in big tins and my husband can't eat nuts and I never trusted myself.
