Hi! I'm here to do the Thursday challenges this month. I will be doing color palettes based on the four seasons. Since we're in winter in the northern hemisphere, let's start with winter! Your challenge today is to use the color palette before. Peachy pinks and shades of blue just make me smile. I love the soft colors with the dark blue. TWIST - Since this is a winter color palette, I'd like to see you scrap summer photos! Points - 2 points for using the color palette and another 3 points if you scrapbook a summer photo(s) - Total of 5 points for doing both. Here is my first layout with this challenge. I scrapbooked Disney photos from our last trip there in August 2019. I did a process video which you can find on YouTube. I will also be scrapbooking live with this challenge on Thursday, February 4 at 8pm Eastern time at my YouTube channel. www.youtube.com/c/OneMommyScrapping I hope you'll come join me tomorrow, and I can't wait to see what you create!

Oooh, I admit I was nervous when I read your challenge, but then I thought about how your color palette is the same one in PinkFresh Indigo Hills 2. Then I was wishing I had some beach photos to use ( because wouldn't that be perfect! ) but we didn't go to the beach last summer because of COVID. But then I finally found a set of summer photos that will work out really well I think. The colors will use the same blue and pink palette, but just a little bolder than the pastel shades you picked out. Paige Evans has blues and pinks too! Your page is so much fun lilacgal . The expressions on your faces! ~~~~~ Okay, I'm back with my layout. I was inspired by all the little doodads you added around your photo block, and I kept finding bits and pieces to add to mine. You can't see much of the blue any more, but I promise, it's still under there. No Nuvo drops though. What the heck?

@lilcagal I love your layout!
This may be hard for me- that’s not a color palette I use often, especially for summer photos. Good challenge!!!

Tonight’s YouTube live used the same supplies I pulled out for the original video. The photos are from the same trip but outdoors. Nothing says “winter color palette” like a dragon breathing fire on a bank! 😂

msliz- the soft blue really works to show off your colorful photos and cards! lilacgal I really like what you've done with the color scheme! I like how you used similar supplies to make two different looks!

jjpeapea, wow if that isn't the perfect photo for this challenge! How did the pie turn out?

The pie was delicious. We were relieved because it was a dry summer and the berries were a little dry, but sugar+berries went a long way.

lilacgal, I love the soft colors you chose for these photos. Your layering of papers behind the photos is phenomenal. I love the depth it gives to the layout. Simply beautiful..for a spooky theme. LOL I think it's wonderful. Thank you for the challenge. I just took a look at your Dragon page. I absolutely love that! Every inch of it is so interesting and artistic. Love, love, love it. msliz, you know her hair caught my eye the first thing. I love it. I love all the little strips you used on the left and the cards of distractions on the right. I think this turned out so cute. I especially love the colors/patterns behind your title. Really cute page. jjpeapea, I laughed out loud as I read "thoughtful of my daughter to wear pink and blue". I love when things work out like that. This challenge was perfect for your photo. Nicely done. The pie makes me hungry. Here is mine for this challenge: Family - Good Times

What precious photos Nylene! It's true, having fantastic photos turns the work of a scrapbooker into play. The soft colors of the papers work so well with the blues in their clothes ( and those beautiful blue eyes! ) and the pinks in their skin tones.

lilacgal , I commented on your palette, but not on your page, and now you have two of them! Love how you inverted the colours to such a cool contrast between the pages. I am such a fan of how you can pile on all those fun bits and pieces to create a cohesive whole. I love to pile them on, too, but my pages often look like the floor under the high chair Your blackberry page is really pretty, jjpeapea . Great idea to go with the colours she is wearing. Love how you use white space as a design element. Another skill I struggle with. Love in the Gallery for the others. ps. Just dug out my Cocoa Vanilla Daydream. Just need to find a pic or two...

nylene that’s a gorgeous layout! Great photos and I love those flowers in the corner. Here’s my take- I’m low on summer pics printed so this encouraged me to pull out my pics from my big west trip from a couple years ago. I just have a handful of layouts to finish that album.

WTG, schroema, getting those vacation photos scrapped! Love the deep blue background: it works perfectly with the sky in your photos.

Here is my page with a couple of outdoor photos from June 2019, taken outside the LEGO store at Disney Springs. I will put together a facing page later of the little guys building inside the store, but this one fits the requirements for this challenge. Can we build THAT by Gramma Dee, on Flickr To construct this, I used the one page sketch from 28-4-28 #6, so I will be sharing it there as well.

This is such a pretty colour scheme lilacgal , I just love it! I ended up making my own digital papers using the exact colours from the palette, and recolouring elements from various kits to match. Ah the joys of digital scrapping!! I used a Sketchsavvy sketch - 2 Page sketch #19. I plan to use the same colours for another layout I am going to do, of my DD and her friends making the scarf that she is wearing in the photo on this layout. I didn't do the twist, because I was already halfway through the layout when I remembered to check the twist, and these are winter photos.

That was a fun store to visit. I love your layout! It makes me want to pull out some Cocoa Vanilla.

Oh my goodness! They’re so cute in their school uniforms. I miss the plaid jumper days of my daughter. Fourth grade is the last year they wear them at my school. I am floored by your layout. I think it’s so awesome you could recolor your supplies to match the palette. It’s beautiful!

I'm enjoying all the different takes on a winter palette. lilacgal, your bonus page was truly a bonus! I like your embellisment clusters so much. msliz, I thought I commented on your winter palette days ago, because I enjoyed all your embellishments and how they highlight your starting photo. nylene your start photos are great and your page does them so much justice schroema, the gorgeous trees. Something special about them. grammadee, what are the odds both you and lilacgal are scrapping dragons? What a fun page and color perfect. AussieMeg, just gorgeous, I LOVE how you achieved color perfection with your tools. Can't wait to see the scarf page.

grammadee that’s a great background paper! I love the striped paper pulling it all together. AussieMeg the soft palette really works with your photos! The striped accents really create some fun movement on the page. lilacgal thanks for the sky love- I didn’t lug my nice camera on vacation so they are all iPhone photos- the sky speaks for itself!!!

lilacgal thanks for the sky love- I didn’t lug my nice camera on vacation so they are all iPhone photos- the sky speaks for itself!!! Wow! Seriously?? That is simply amazing! It's just so gorgeous. I was immediately transported back to my childhood days visiting my grandparents. They lived in northern Virginia but out in a very rural area. I recall the skying seeming so big out there. It really was such a fun memory to pop up for me. I could even smell the grass and feel the warm wind in my mind. I think that's one of the best things about sharing what we scrapbook. It can trigger memories for so many other people!

This was a GREAT challenge. First I had to find a summer photo that would work with the colours (I gravitate to the navy/yellow/red of summer lines). Then I had to find papers that would not be snowy This is mainly cocoa vanilla embellishment, but the papers are lots of pink fresh "case of the blahs" (except the pastel behind the photo, that's cocoa vanilla). I did take the liberty of adding some yellow because the die cut title and sun were perfect for my page! love the pond and these happy days by kirstendrew, on Flickr
