Our replacement machine is a Miele front loader. Whatever reputation they had years ago , does not seem to apply any more, in my experience.
It is one of those eco low water ones. If you want to spend hours and hours and hours and even more hours to wash a set of towels , this is it.
It has only a couple of inches of water, never rinses out properly, or pumps outs. Leaves soap residue and is loud. Washing is often left in a puddle. There was one day it took 12 hours !!! For a single load.
The trouble is that leftover soap causes allergic hives for my husband , even though we use sensitive unperfumed detergent.
By the time I have added multiple extra cycles, rinses and spins , I have probably used much more electricity and water because of eco style manufacturing. What used to take an hour or so in my old machine now takes 3 or more hours, with multiple trips to and from the kitchen to add repeat additional settings.
My old machine was a fraction of the price and actually worked ! No computers, no sensors, plenty of water, job done ! Those were the days !
I get really fed up and frustrated when things that worked perfectly well , all get “improved” and can’t even perform basic functions because of new eco rules.
This is probably why laundry detergent is so strong smelling these days , to cover up the fact that washing machines no longer wash properly. The neighbour’s washing is overpowering.
Me and my washing machine do not get along .

Have a Whirlpool Cabrio set. Like the washer, top load, no agitator and deep. I am 5'6" and do not have issues getting things out, I just twirl the drum to move far away items closer. I can easily wash a king size quilt and blanket together without any problem.
The set just turned three years old, the dryer screeches bloody murder and I am noticing brown stains and streaks on random towels and clothes. Apparently two issues, belt and some felt around the drum. Scheduling the repairs for next week, very frustrating.
