The regret thread made me think of stuff I don't regret because I still pull it out to use from time to time.
One year maybe 10 years ago, I went on a ribbon, twine, and button binge and I will still pull those out for layouts. They really add something to clusters.
I just used some of my paper flowers and leaves from way back in the day. Again, they add dimension to clusters. I actually just bought some more paper leaves from Amazon this month because I've found I have a leaf problem.
I still will pull out Making Memories metal from time to time- that is really old school.
I do not regret any of my punches- I have a huge collection and love using them.
I used to hand sew on my layouts and am just getting back to doing that- I have a huge stock of embroidery floss from another one of my binges.
What old things do you still use?

I still love and use my punches. I use my CM circle cutting system all the time. CM scissors. I use my MM foam stamps. Foam stamps are so expensive I’ll never get rid of those. Pretty much all my old embellishments like wood veneer or chipboard or anything I would no longer use in a scrapbook page goes right in my art journal. They all add interesting layers and texture.
I would say all of my ink pads are old.....probably 10-15 years and they still work and I use them regularly.

I use a lot of old stuff. I don't think I could list it all. A few of them are:
* My daughter's CuttleKids die cutting machine. I bought it for her when she was about 7 years old (she just turned 21 last month!). * My purple Fiskars paper trimmer that I bought in 2004. * My Crop in Style Navigator rolling tote (2004) * My Crop in Style Paper/Sticker Binders. (2001)

Anything and everything that I still love gets used. I like pulling out paper packs from a decade or more ago and creating with them. It’s fun to take things like the big shaped papers and use them with my current style. I’ve gotten rid of things that I know I won’t be using anymore - eyelets pops to mind.
I still have the old Making Memories metal frames and photo corners. I should break them out and see what I can do with them. 🤔

Papers: I store my papers by theme, so the old and new is often mixed together, and I mix and match on my pages. So BoBunny and Cosmo Cricket and LYB will often make an appearance. And I have half a drawer of Basic Grey that I go to often when I need subtle background patterns.
CM cutting tools. I have some of the different shapes, but the circles are the ones that get the most use when I need just the right size for my LO.
My Crop-A-dial comes out whenever I need a hole punched through more than one layer. Or if I decide to use my eyelets. The other day I wanted to place an eyelet a few inches in from the edge and I actually used my MM punching and setting tools--and a HAMMER!!! (I actually have the Crop-A-dial that reaches that far, but it seemed easier for one eyelet to just go old school).
My punches are on an open shelf and I often go to them when I need them, especially for borders.
Twines and ribbons come out to play on occasion. Even have some raffi peeking out of that bin: may need to use THAT for something soon.

Since I painsakingly overanalyze every purchase, I only buy things I truly love & will eventually use. I'm theme-challenged & gravitate toward versatile/neutral supplies, so my inventory includes decade+ old patterned papers, cardstock, embellishments, stamps, inks, tools, etc. that are easily incorporated/used on layouts. I do not have one single item on my current wish list, which makes me grateful to have supplies that I like on hand!

Still use my Creative Memories corner rounder and punches. Recently cleaned out and purged some old, old supplies, but kept most of the Making Memories metal embellishments and journaling spiral pads to use up. I still use my Colluzzle from time to time, a real throw back....Also recently unearthed a bunch of KI Memories acrylics, including the Soup Can alphas, and have some layouts planned for those. I am still purging really old supplies, but trying to use at least one thing from my old stash on each layout—gotta use it or lose it!

I still use quite a few older things:
* CM cutting tools, CM scissors, CM small guillotine cutter, CM corner rounder * still occasionally use an eyelet or brad (mostly on cards, not layouts) -- and I use my MM tools for setting them * all my punches * deckle-edge shape scissors - I have a bunch of the old shape scissors, but the only one I still use regularly is the deckle-edge ones...probably should purge the others

Last year I took out my 15yo chalks to try my hand making some "mixed media" designs that wouldn't warp my paper. I liked the way some of them came out. I should try to remember to do that again this year with my current batch of photos.

I use my Coluzzle, too!
Chalk - I especially like using it to color dry-embossed paper.
Eyelets and brads make their way into my work - I still have some shaped eyelets that I should probably purge, though.

I’ve gone right off all metal due to rust issues But I recently purchased a stamp that works perfectly to embellish with buttons so...I pulled out my huuuuuge stash of them to use!

I use pretty much anything and everything I ever had if it is still in my stash. I still pick up old product off give away tables at crops, IF I think I will use it.
I still use my old rolling totes - the Navigator and XL. I have my Navigator in my car right now. My adhesive of choice is hermafix dotto, and I've been using it since it came out for scrapbookers whenever that was - early 2000's.
There sure was some ugly product back in scrapbooking's early heyday. But I hang on to it because many of those themes were never seen again, even in their ugly original form. Manufacturers don't come to mind but it was back in Paper Pizazz era and a bit later!
This is a fun memory lane thread. If I come across anything while this thread is still active I'll come back and post a pic or two!

I pulled out my WRMK ribbon punch recently. I was looking for something else and thought what the heck is that? Luckily I had the instructions with it. It is similar to this: linkI still love all my Quickutz alphas.

This thread had me thinking. I put up a poll in my Facebook group on which collection should I use today. The "newest" collection was 2011. The collection that won the poll was Basic Grey Blush from 2006. It drives me a bit batty when it feels like we're being told we need to use the most recent stuff or our creations aren't that good. I'm all about mixing the old with the new. I loved it once. If I still love it, why not use it? Here's my layout using that 2006 collection.

That little blue trimmer from CM I got back in the late 90's I still use all the time. I have so much paper I still love that is over 10 years old, punches, and my QK, Sizzix, Zip'Cut, etc. dies and alphas.

I signed up for the distress ink card class by creative Chick, suggested on another thread. Jen said to look through your stash to use what you have. I had 7 or so background stamps from my Stampin up days, still mounted on the big wood blocks and I unmounted one, as a test to use in my HA stamp press...and it worked beautifully with the distress ink. Jen recommends using red rubber with distress ink, so excited that I can use my old SU stamps. I unmounted all my smaller SU stamps and store them in 2 binders, but was afraid to do this with the big ones, because at that time no stamp presses available.

I still use some of the first stamp sets I ever purchased. I'm sure my family and friends are getting sick of the SU sentiment that I've been stamping inside their birthday cards for 22 years now:
"May the simple joys of life fill this special day and be yours throughout the coming year." But I still mean that!

If it is still in my room, I will use it. I am good at purging, so the things I have, I will use. I keep trying to come up with ways to remember what I have.

I did an online crop this a couple weekends ago, and used Basic Grey papers and letter stickers from approximately 2006, as well as a diecut paper from KI Memories from roughly the same time period. I also have a TON of KI Memories glitter brads that I LOVE, if for no other reason than to look at them. (And, I HATE glitter! LOL)

I have finally pulled out baby photos and products I purchased from twenty years ago to make a baby book. I was going to get all new products for the project, but decided to just go with what I had purchased in the early 2000s for an appropriate feel for the times. There’s lots of Debbie Mumm and Suzi’s Zoo designs, all things I still enjoy. Some of the stickers from that time are pretty awful, though, so I may skip them. We will see how it looks, I certainly have a less is more approach now that I did not have when I started scrapping 25 years ago.

I still use my CM corner rounder, circle templates, and some of their punches. I've been pulling out more brads to use on my pages lately. I still have SEI, KI, BG, and all kinds of random paper from back in the day in my stash.

I need to use what I have, new or old. If I really think about it, nobody will really notice (except for other scrapbookers) if my supplies are current to my photos. I have tons of stuff that I want to use, namely old Basic Grey and KI Memories papers that I saved and older Simple Stories Collections. I still like the look of eyelets when I have a hole in a tag, or want to lace something through a page. I use my border and circle punches all the time. The other day I got the urge to get out my old Fiskars paper crimper/corrugator! I also love the Making Memories metals, and even though it is fiddly, I love the look of the tag frames. I recently stocked up because I adore the way the coordinating metal rimmed tags look in clusters!

Love all these memories! The OG item that always makes me laugh is my Making Memories Slice spatula because I got rid of my MM Slice years ago but kept the spatula because I really love the shape of it!
Regarding loving old collections, I absolutely have some that I love, but sometimes I also look at some of the papers from the more grungy phase of scrapbooking and I shudder. The funny thing is, I loved those designs back then...and I'm sure grunge will come back into fashion again...but right now it just seems so dated! Same way that I can't believe biker shorts have made a comeback...that is one 90s trend I wish had died!

I'm another one who uses whatever is in my stash irrespective of age. I've really been loving BasicGrey and Cosmo Cricket papers over the last year or so, and mixing old and new stuff on the same page makes me happy. I'm trying to make a conscious effort to actually use some older things on my pages, and added some pearls to the last page I made. I go through phases where I pull out things I've had for a while and put them right in front of me while I'm creating to keep them top of mind.
