So what annoys me is the lady in our community who stops her car in the middle of the street to talk whenever she sees someone she knows. She doesn’t move over for cars that are coming. And when two cars are coming from opposite directions, one car has to wait for the other car to pass. And the reason this irrationally annoys me is because I see this happening when I am walking the dog. It is not affecting me at all yet it annoys me. Lol!

I got $500 cash from my bank to deposit into my DIL's bank for her and the boys. No they would not take cash, cash?! i was at the bank recently (home branch) and had a government of canada cheque to deposit (not withdrawing anything) and since i had to ask some questions, i went to the teller. she asks me all these questions, holds the cheque up to the light, tells me she has to "confirm it" and calls someone. i was like WTF? it's from federal government and it's $74?!? she came back and i asked who she had called and she advised me "i don't have to share our security procedures with *you*". whoa. lady. i told her she was right, but i am the customer and you don't have to be rude either. she said she would accept the cheque, like doing me some kinda favour. but told me it would be held for 10 days. ummm, i had the proceeds of the sale of my home in that account. certainly SIGNIFICANTLY more than the $74 cheque amount. i shake my head when i see all this big time fraud stuff with the banks. i am like "i get hassled to deposit a legit cheque for under $100 from the federal government....". how do people get away with it!?!?

That is CRAZY!! I work in a bank (in Canada) and she broke so many rules!!! Legally a bank must cash a government of Canada cheque up to $1500 ($2000 for emergency benifits) even for a non customer (with ID). I would bring this to the attention of the manager.... maybe the teller is new (benifit if the doubt) but they certainly need to be trained properly (let alone get a lesson in customer service).

I’m irritated (same as last week) that our weather forecasters can’t seem to make up their minds. We are forecast (once again depending on who you listen to) to get anywhere from 1-15” of snow. Because of this, I told my DH on Friday he better go pick up some icemelt because we have a steep driveway and an icy deck that I have to take 3 dogs in and out of the house on. But No. He drug and drug his feet and so we ended up going out at 5 o’clock tonight and guess what everyone is sold out of ice melt. I hope the weather forecaster who says we are going to get 1 inch of snow is the one that is right. I’m counting on him. Ha In desperation one year, I checked Amazon and was able to buy it.

.......I am irrationally angry that I have to prove to one of the banks who I am every single time I want to deposit a check into my account. Just put the damn check in there! I don’t have to do this at my other (preferred) bank. I should not need to tell you my password, mother’s maiden name, AND the last 4 digits of my social if I want to stick money in the bank. I feel your pain. One Christmas I got $500 cash from my bank to deposit into my DIL's bank for her and the boys. No they would not take cash, cash?! So I had to go home and get a check to deposit. Great.. but no she has to endorse it.. they live 1000 miles away!! Like $500 is laundering drug money!?!?!? I write DD a check and sign it, then deposit it. She lives out of state and I am not on her account. I'd be furious if they would not accept cash. That's nuts.

The fact that even though we rarely have weather like this, our electric infrastructure is as bad as it is. I know we are breaking low temps left and right, I completely understand that these temps are pretty much unheard of here, but the fact that people all over this state have lost power for hours is utterly ridiculous.
It also bugging the crap out of me that people from the north are trying to compare their cold to ours. First of all, it’s not a competition. Second of all, our state is in no way made to withstand this type of weather. If yours is, I am so very happy for you. I wouldn’t wish this craziness on anyone. If any of you (general you, not just Peas) that live in the north have recorded breaking cold/crazy unexpected weather, I am so sorry, and pray that it is resolved quickly, and you are all safe and warm.

I am suggesting that during this time, you make a list of things that would help you right now and purchase them later, when there isn't a storm. kitty litter or snow salt to put on ice to help from slipping a shovel (order from Amazon if not available right now) a source of heat and light with a strong battery & backup battery remember to remove soda cans from cold garage (see a PSA post) make sure the car is full of gas make sure your car tires have grip to them, don't let them 'bald down'. and continue the list. As there is climate change happening, this will not be a solo event. There will be more weather events in the future.

They were able to get a fire going for some heat and to cook lunch, I just hope their power comes back Lon before they run out of wood.

Lack of knowledge about old school etiquette.
Got a wedding invite addressed to dh and me. Told by family the kids are invited and we are being silly saying the invite did not mention them.
So I texted mog (my cousin, we are close) to double check before we rsvp.
Either way is fine. My kids are 18 and 16 and don't care if they go. I don't care if the go. I just don't want to be the asshole that didn't bring the kids when they were invited.

White American expats who double as healers and mermaids (yes really) complaining about being exhorted or harassed by police.
So umm blue lives don’t matter when they are shaking you down eh?
Keep in mind the police mostly harass folks higher than a giraffe’s vagina and leave the rest of us alone👀
