That there is even a 350k piece of property in Seattle is pretty unheard of. This is in a r-o-o-ough neighborhood. Note the bars on the windows and door? A tiny lot with a house you have to tear down. Seattle propertyCan you find a 350k property near you? If so, show it off!

Yikes. Oh, Seattle. You beautiful and amazingly expensive city.
Is downtown Seattle really minutes away from Seatac? Is anything minutes away from Downtown Seattle with traffic?

Phoenix is really inflated right now. My parents just bought a 350k house. 2100 sq ft, 4/2, cul de sac lot with about 1/5th of an acre. In a normal market, that house should have been closer to 280k.

I didn’t find any for that exact amount. Here are a couple closest to the $350,000 amount

Yeah, that’s pretty much what a $350K house would look like in the Bay Area, too.

There's certainly nothing in my suburb that qualifies, the median price here is about US$ 850k. This is the closest I could find, its about 20 mins from where I live, and has a selling range of a little over US$ 350k. The suburb is ok, not great but certainly not the worst place you could live. It's on a subdivided block and it looks like there are four of them on the block. Melbourne property

I read your title and was like, “what? You can’t buy anything for $350!.” You can’t get a condo for that in my Seattle/east side suburb. What a bargain for someone! 😂

I couldn't find a single family home for sale on Zillow for $300-$350,000 in my city. Everything is cheaper. I bought my house 6 years ago almost for $105,000. Zillow says that my house is now worth $143,000. But they haven't updated the specs on my house either. We've added another bedroom. We've done a ton of work to our house since buying it. ETA: I was able to find 5 sold in the last year for over $250k. Here's one that sold for $335k www.zillow.com/homedetails/1805-Canyon-Trl-Lansing-MI-48917/74728275_zpid/

That’s an odd price point for my area (Buffalo). Too low for the first ring suburbs new builds or second ring suburbs, or the truly spectacular historical properties in the city, too high for the “Average” home in the city or suburbs. $150-300k buys you a 3 bed, 2 bath 1800-2500k sq ft 1950s-1990s home in most of the first ring suburbs. Second ring suburbs were developed 1970s onward and can vary widely in size, but tend to have smaller lots. Here are the closest I could find: SuburbanCityMy home, which we paid 200k for in 2012, is approaching $300k in value. A few recent neighborhood sales have been 270-290k. Real estate has been climbing here, which is weird, because we didn’t experience any of the booms previously. We’ve been in bust mode a long time. ETA - if you want to compare apples to apples, might be better to do the mortgage/tax payment combined... NYS is definitely on the high end for that.

The taxes are relatively low compared to where I live. We sold a $400k house a few years ago and the annual taxes were almost $20,000.
Where do they get their taxes from?

Can you find a 350k property near you? If so, show it off! No way would I be able to find a $350k property in my area. I couldn't even buy a vacant block of land for that. My SIL is house hunting at the moment, but she can't find anything decent for under $700k. She found a house that she loved, it went up for auction yesterday. The price guide was $740-770k. It sold for $870k! I just searched real estate in my suburb. The cheapest I could find had a price guide of $745-800k and the most expensive had a price guide of $1.24-1.34 million. Ridiculous! The 'cheap' one only had 3 bedrooms, was on a much smaller block than mine, and had a very dated kitchen and bathroom, probably 30 years old. There is no land for sale in my suburb, but there are some blocks in the next suburb. Vacant block of land = $740-790k and another one in the suburb on the other side of me is $650-715k. These are standard sized blocks. Oh, and I just found 12 acres for sale in my dream suburb, two suburbs over, for 1.7 million - I hope I won Powerball tonight! Ugh, my kids will never be able to afford to buy a house, they'll be living with me forever!

LOLOLOL I just found out what $341k will buy me in the next suburb - a 157 square metre block of land! To put that into perspective, my block is 900 square metres, and is an average size, maybe a touch bigger than average. You'd barely fit a garden shed on 157 square metres!!

There isn't anything in my town in that price range. This is about 20 miles from me. It is on the way up to the mountains from a large town. Lots of land. Good Times Lane

Is anyone sad about the Frozen wall stickers? Someone lived there. It may not be my cup of tea, but that was someone's home for better or worse.

The zip code covers a large area in the hill country outside of San Antonio, none of it would really be considered unsafe. Close to me it looks like you an get a plot of land between 5 and 15 acres. There are only a few homes already built in that price range, but lots of new construction. Cute smallish (for this area in Texas) home in a modest neighborhood on around 1/7th an acre of land. It would be about 2,000 square feet with 3 beds and 3 baths and mid-level trim choices like quartz and ceramic tile.

in toronto: house boat
cheapest house (this house was the cheapest i could find in toronto "proper" - not our east/west/north areas. it will get multiple offers and will be sold for over $1m. you see lots of 8s in prices in certain areas to appeal to asian buyers - however, that is not a particularly asian neighbourhood so who knows?) found one cheaperbut no interior pics.... so it's a tear down or a gut job. and not the greatest area i think. condois what you are looking at for $350k. it'a one bedroom/one bath, taxes are $2100/yr and maintenance is $718/mo. a house like one in op, if it's the right neighbourhood here would go for $800-1m - to tear down for just land value. parking spots downtown toronto can go between $35-$100k. and while that houseboat is cute, you do have to pay slip fees. i read an article recently and they are livable 4 seasons but they are usually electric heat so really expensive to heat in the winter. sorry, i like real estate.

These threads always mess me up. I picture all of you living in McMansions that cost a million dollars. It makes me wonder just what kind of wages everyone must make to be able to afford such homes. Either that or I wonder if people are just mortgaged up to the eyeballs.

Is anyone sad about the Frozen wall stickers? Someone lived there. It may not be my cup of tea, but that was someone's home for better or worse. That was my reaction when I saw both the bedrooms having wall stickers. And they didn't bring the loft bed with them. So I suspect it's been a rental.

This is what I picture when pea after pea posts that you couldn't buy a pot to piss in for $350k in their neighborhood: And then I'm happy to live in a place where you don't have to have a five million dollar home to be living well.
