I mentioned this on another thread. On TikTok there was a guy, who owned an energy company in Texas, saying what happened wasn’t his fault. The government controls the weather and sent snow/cold to Texas because they want to secede. I was like “wow, NOW I’ve heard everything”. Then I started reading the comments and I had to walk away. SO MANY people agreed/believed what he was saying. I’m sitting here thinking “yeah, ok, let’s believe the energy guy”. I was speechless.

You have to know that the vast majority of Texans don't believe this, and that many of those comments were being silly, but yes it's scary how many people live for conspiracy theories.

DH has a relative that has fallen down the "fake snow/weather" rabbit hole. Except they belive the cold was caused by the Chinese and their weather machines. They do not, and have not ever lived in TX.
DH was shocked and dismayed when they shared their "video evidence" up until this we assumed they were a rational thinker. We don't see this person very often so we don't know what other types of ideas they are consuming.
