I'm usually against the death penalty, but I'll make an exception in this case.

This is local to me. First and foremost I hope she rots in prison for the rest of her life and her shitty boyfriend too.
While Ohio doesn't have a formal policy of relinquishing custody of children over 30 days, there are other options than what they chose to do.

There's also no mental health services for people who don't have private insurance, and it's often shitty even if you do. She lives in a county that is considered to have significantly better mental health resources than the surrounding counties. She could have presented herself to a local hospital and asked for help. There are dedicated hospital social workers that would have helped her get connected immediately.

Those poor kids! We had a local woman murder her 16 and 22 yr. olds last week, and a stepfather murder his wife's 2 yr. old son a month ago. So sad.

This is so heartbreaking. I have a lot of questions after reading the story, but the main question is why did cps remove one child (prior to the murder) but not the rest? In my case... I was the only child being abused and therefore considered the only child at risk in the home for further abuse. AND, during the trial(s) even one of the prosecution’s professional witnesses that tested him and interviewed him (my step-father/adoptive father) found I was the only child at risk because I was the only non biological daughter. It was true but still... I am so sorry. I hope that that man was put in jail. And to me (and IMHO to any sane person), if there were adults in the home, every last one of them should be in jail and none of them - not one ever - should ever be allowed near a child again. I am just so very sorry for what you went through manda. I read this story yesterday and I just was horrified. There just are not excuses to do this. I don't care. No excuses. We can maybe have some understanding, but this can never be excused. The thought of that poor little boy running after the car just makes me want to vomit.
