Seems like her role on Grey's set her up for great opportunities and (my opinion) she sure has complained about a lot of her roles. Why complain about doing romantic comedies? I think she was great in 27 dresses and that seemed to be her kind of niche. She's always been deemed difficult to work with in Hollywood. But maybe its because she dared to criticize things, which if you think about it no one else does in Hollywood. So maybe we should look at her as a trailblazer.

Well, she did sort of go from one of the top t.v. shows to doing some fairly successful movies to doing some real stinkers and now she's selling sleep aids. That is a bit of a nosedive. But from what I have read, she isn't all that easy to work with, so I imagine the bulk of that is her own doing.

Because now she's only able to get job schilling Zzzquil. And it isn't even a speaking role in the commercial she just stretches in a bed.
I hope she learned that you shouldn't insult your writers, directors and producers. She insulted her Grey's writers when she claimed she felt her role didn't have any substance to deserve putting her name in for an Emmy nomination and she totally blasted Judd Apatow and her character in Knocked Up, the role that really gave her movie career momentum.

While I agree that she certainly has the right to criticize, and it's not a bad thing - biting the hand that feeds you (Grey's writers) was very likely not her best move. Afterall, that writing did get her an Emmy nomination if I'm not mistaken. |

From what i've heard about the biz it's part of the territory when an actor/actress signs a contract - they have to do a certain # of movies for example, but they have some choices. Having said that based on what the industry thinks of her body of work, those are the types of roles and scripts she gets offered. It's hard for actors to break out of their genre, if they have to stuck (and have succeeded) to one particular one. You can criticize all you want but that's not going to create good leading roles for women.

I always thought that she decided she was an A list star, but she forgot she actually needed a career to (build, then) support it. Kinda like "I am your leader!" "Where are my peeps?!?"

I remember reading something a few months back about a movie she was trying to get backed. She might have started a campaign of some sort but I do remember her saying something to the effect that she doesn't really have a huge income anymore. I still don't feel bad for her. |

I enjoyed her work, in all the various Hallmark love movies.
It seems, that "she thinks she is all that", and became a diva and a critic. That in turn earned her a reputation as difficult to work with. There are way too many "easy to work with" actresses out there, rather than cast a difficult diva.
Unless you are a major "box office draw", you can't play the diva card.
it's no wonder she's seen a decline in movie role offers.

She is stunning, truly an old Hollywood beauty. And she does amazing things to protect animals. BUT she has an incredibly high opinion of herself and she is delusional if she thinks that over-saturation is the reason her career tanked. It tanked because she is difficult to work with and has no filter. Her fans deserted her because of the ridiculous things that have come out of her mouth. And she obviously hasn't learned a thing based on her comments in the interview. I can see a lot more commercials in her future.
