Leaving love for the work on pages NINE and TEN: sleepingbooty, your planner pages look like magazine LO's: so elegant, so much white space, yet with the pockets of information, photos with impact, and the few little stamps or stickers. So peaceful to look at! Great use of the PL cards on your Star Wars page, Linda. It was so great to meet you yesterday morning on the virtual crop. Hope to see alot more of you as you settle in to your new scrappy space. That kayak page looks like it was based on one of joyfulnana's sketches. Love the colours you used. Great photos of the turtle & the dragonfly sticker is the perfect icon for this nature LO. Would like to be able to read the journaling on the home improvement page. Those are the kinds of things I never take photos of, but it is great to see them documented. And the coordination between the floral pp and the added flowers is perfect on that last page. Again: lovely nature photos. How many pages did you finish this weekend? You have been ON FIRE!!! Love the multicoloured gifts on those cards, justjac. I have a similar stamp & die set, but never thought to use it like this. I love it when you take classes and then I learn stuff LOL. margie, your Greek pages are GORGEOUS!!! Love the sunset colours with that deep blue. It was good visiting with your on the crops, slicksister. Your cards are beautiful. Nice happy colours and crisp images. Bet the recipients will love them. kitbop, I am off to get a closer look at your gorgeous pages on Flickr. I love that circle sketch and hope to use it sometime this next week.

Great cards, MDscrapaholic. Beautiful colours: I know they are all in the kit, but then YOU chose the kit, right? So sad to hear about your Aunt. Glad you can spend some time crafting.

sleepingbooty, I have already answered your question about advice for my former crafty self. I would like to have given my young working mom self some advice: Take more photos. It doesn't have to be a special occasion. Keep a simple journal. I know the phrase "Life is a Journey" is getting a little old, but in a way, it is. When we were on cruises, I kept a daily journal: simple stuff; where we went; a comment about the experience; who went with us; who was in the photos. If I had done that during my journey raising kids, I might remember the names of their little friends in the few photos I do have. I am amazed by AussieMeg's pages with the detailed journaling. Wish I had done that...

I just LOVE this picture of our two elderly cats - you might not be able to read the journalling so "Midnight was comfortable napping on my desk when Oreo decided he wanted to be in the same spot...so he just sat down on top of Midnight."

Finishing working on DS21's Senior wrestling album
Regionals with up to two wrestlers in each weight class, unless the bracket was empty.
Pages 3 & 4 of the same event (2 days), I used the back of the middle sheet because I really liked this red and it worked!
Today I managed to get this done and had a lot of help from my 2Pea online cropping friends!
Current this year photos! Yeah me!
grammadee I know I've posted at least three times now!

Many thanks to sleepingbooty for hosting this awesome weekend! And many thanks to msliz for organizing the virtual crops! This is my favorite weekend around here. I didn't get a ton of pages done but that really doesn't matter, just having so many people scrapping together this weekend was energizing and exciting! Time to look closer at what everyone created this weekend!

Sunday AMA: 1. Reveal the SECRET GEM in your hoard, something you've not used out of fear of no longer having it or not being able to live up to its beauty. Your hoard trophy, if you will... Tell us why you think you've not used it so far and what could finally prompt you to get it out of the hoard and onto a project! Soooooo many Club Scrap kits! Like 10 years of them. I love them and know I can't get more, so I feel like unless something is absolutely, perfectly suited for something (ex: British Museum mummies for the Egyptian kit), then I won't use it. I tend to be pretty literally-minded anyway, so the trendy things like foxes or hot air balloons usually turn me off, because I never have photos related to those things. But, with the CS kits, I feel like the photos have to earn their right to be on the paper, so even if the theme is right, they still have to be really good photos. 2. What ADVICE would you give your former scrapbooking/crafty self? As years go by, experience trickles in, we often end up seeing things from a different perspective through growth and trial. Is there anything in particular you feel you need to remind yourself (and your fellow crafters) of? Getting them done is more important than getting them perfect. 3. Share your FAVOURITE MOMENT OR LESSON from this weekend with us. It can be a funny anecdote, an expression of gratitude, something that helped you, something you witnessed over these three days, a conclusion you've come to, a realisation you made, a regret even. Don't be shy! Sadly, I didn't get all that much done SB-wise, because I had family demands that needed handling. But, having this specific event in mind made me able to say I was headed to my SB room and FORCING myself to spend at least as long as the longest dryer load working on something. I didn't get a LOT done, but I did get a "Bright and White" layout done for Easter 2014. And, I've had a Big Shot I bought second-hand literally years ago. I've got probably 30 sets of dies or embossing folders to use with it. But I had NEVER taken the time to learn to use it. I finally pulled it out and figured it out! I have a couple new dies that make perforated shapes to cross stitch on, so now I can use those and combine my hobbies.

Project love p. 11 (part 1): Linda "The new desk" You picked just the right colours to play off the dark, aging wood of the antique desk! The muted sky blue lifts the LO up while the brown grounds it. What a great idea you had to use the pattern paper with all those curvy elements (floral and flourishes) to emphasise the desk's curved drawers! Very classy and smart design work here. 👏 "Me & my best friend" First of all, I just want to let you know what a gorgeous name Midnight is! And clearly, what a good friend Midnight is by the looks of how Oreo treats him like his bed... 😄 I love the ballet pink & black combination you chose for this page. The black really brings the focus on the cats while the soft pink helps create a sense of softness, of cocooning associated with sleeping and resting (poor Midnight!). Your attention to the little touches such as the delicate tiny dots and the triple arrow pointing to the journaling elevates this LO to another level. scrappyrabbit "Pinnacles" This kind of beauty of a project makes me wish I'd bought more papers from 1Canoe2 while they were still around in the scrapbooking sphere... That marbly paper from Twilight is put to perfect use here: the colours complement the rocks and stormy blue skies while contrasting with all the greenery in your photos. The rainbows are such a great symbolic reminder of finding the good in the not-so-perfect looking moments such as hiking when the weather's not all sunshine and clear horizons. 😊 I absolutely love how you placed that marbled pattern paper at the bottom to anchor all these photos down but also give the impression of a path being walked through these mountains. And the bird embellishment by the title symbolises the feeling of freedom from being in nature. Well done! 👍 justjac "Floral cards" These bright cards bring a smile to my face! The balance between white space and colourful elements is just right... My eye travels across these without tiring or struggling to focus on the main component, perfect! I love how you've worked towards including a dynamic unit to all of these: the white leafy die-cuts versus the striped background, the stamped green leaves moving up versus the downward swashes of the hot pink 'friend' die-cut, the threaded bow on top of the stamped wreath. Great job on the framing too where you managed to show of three different ways of doing it (high contrast matting, colourful background on which you mounted the white panel, and partial cuts + high contrast shape). I love all three and would have a hard time picking just one out of the bunch... 😉 "Hummingbird cards" I actually had to go search up Alex Clare's Hummingbird song as soon as I saw these! Got it playing in my headphones right now as I comment on your gorgeous creations. I'm going to have a very hard time remaining unbiased here as you've reached for some of my very favourite colours for this batch, justjac... All three are dreamy in their own way: the ghost print effect (which I need to try now), the night scene, and the mini panel composition. 😍 I'm admirative of how you've played around with the same theme to evoke three very different impressions. These are stunning and the recipients will be oh-so lucky to discover what has arrived in the mail. angel97701 "Wrestling pages" Such energetic double-pagers! I love how many photos you've fit on these LOs without making it feel crowded or oversaturated. Having the title almost smack in the middle by the page hinge really helped to "disperse" the images and give a feeling of airiness in the first LO, very smart! The second LO's large white element at the bottom of right page gives extra breathing room, too. You did great with bringing in strips of black & white patterns to frame the projects and also symbolically represent the wrestling mats. Very powerful and impactful! Great job. 👍 "Go fly a kite" I'm partial to a good colour extraction and you did wonderfully here: the dark grey for the shadows and distant tree line + the blue for sky in the photos. It's such a visually simple but effective way to draw the attention right back to the pics so kudos from me. 🙌 I love all the geometric play you have happening on this double-pager: the journaling spots positioned at an angle versus the photos displayed straight, the curved nature of your main panels versus the lined paper. It all helps to underline the fun movements of the kite represented in the photos! 😉 This LO is a great ode to the fun memory you scrapbooked...

peachiceteas "Love these moments PL" Ok wait, first things first: BUUUUUDDDDAAAAAAAAY, you absolute beauty! 😍 Dogdammit, Peaches, he's a stunner. I just cannot. His coat markings, his bat ears, his open smile. Yes, I will feed you ALL the treats... I love how these digi stamp die-cuts turned out. Gah, don't make me buy an electronic die-cutting machine (no, seriously, I have no idea where I'd store it). It's such a clean and perfect colour-matching look! I want, I want, I want (the machine and the dog, obviously). Are you still making Buddy's own album? Oh shucks - you're as sweet as iced tea! ❤️ We get so many comments about his coat. 🥰 I decided against creating his own album this year and instead I'm making monthly spreads in my album so I can still document the memories but without the time and financial expense of filling a whole album. I worry it would get a bit repetitive as the stories would mostly be the same and any 'big' things would be covered in my main album anyway. I will not enable you right now to get a electronic die cutting machine but if you do ever want enabling... I will help you justify that purchase 100%! Best thing I've bought in ages. It's opened up so many possibilities! I still LOVE to stamp and would choose to purchase a stamp if I can, but I am really loving the digital and cutting possibilities. UGH. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Will keep making cards! Gosh I know this feeling so well. Beautiful cards! You did a great job of using the same collection/manufacturer and making them all look different. @peachicedteas - those elements look great -good job making them JUST right Thank you so much Linda. ❤️ And thank you everyone for the weekend long inspiration and chat. I loved it and cannot wait to do it again soon.

I picked up the Twilight collection randomly at Joanns a few weeks ago, and I agree the colors were perfect for this layout! The background papers were actually a CM baby line. The rainbow cards are also a baby line (from SB.com) and some of the stickers are from a Pink Paislee baby line (can you tell I was working on a baby album before this layout... Lol). I know you probably couldnt read the journaling but the park we visited is a condor sanctuary, so hence the bird sticker we were so lucky to be able to view the condors and they were flying and being active. I need to print out some more pictures so I can get some more layouts done!! Great crop, everyone! Thanks for putting this on and motivating me to get some pages done!

Just now getting caught up but so much fun and loved seeing everyone's work. I managed to finally finish all my January OLW pages and I printed all my January 2021 photos so they are ready to slip in the album. Thanks for all the inspiration. You ladies are the best. I use Facebook to refresh my memory for the day to day and on trips, I always email someone every night with a recap of the day. That's as close to notes as I ever manage That's an awesome idea and I'd say that's totally taking notes. What a wonderful idea, scrappyem! It'd be nice to see AC honour the loyalty their customers have shown to the CP brand over the 10 years of their ownership although I doubt they'll be that interested in giving back to us, alas. Still, fingers crossed! One never knows... 🤞 Do it, AC, do it! Let us hope! Wise words... 🦉 Our tastes and inspiration change over time. It's good to lean into what you like right here, right now. Love that. A great way to think about it. Your planner pages are lovely! sleepingbooty and peachiceteas your breakfasts are giving me major food envy. I'd be pulling out some good food stamps and putting them to use right about now. Me too on the food envy!
