I am a complete sucker for cranberry sauce made from my Mom's recipe. As long as there are leftovers in the fridge, I will get a spoon and have some straight from the fridge. Clean spoon each trip, of course!

I make what my mom called "heavenly hash" for Thanksgiving, only. I make an extra large amount and leave a bowl of it at home for me! I eat it until it's gone! Ooh, I can't wait! Oh, please tell me everything I need to know about "heavenly hash." It sounds heavenly!

I make a chocolate pie every Thanksgiving. I make two. One for the group, one for me.

What's macaroni and cheese salad? I've never heard of it. It's macaroni, Velveeta cheese (yeah, I know....it's evil), green peppers, onions, hardboiled eggs, mayo, and salt/pepper. Unhealthy as hell but yummmmmm...... That sounds interesting! I'd try it... if it had a little hot sauce

Stuffing! My husband makes the best stuffing. I seriously want to stash some in Tupperware before we serve dinner, because I know it will all be gone.
But I don't.
But I want to.

My name is Laurel and I am a stuffing addict. I could easily skip the turkey and go directly to the stuffing.
Oh, and the mashed potatoes and gravy. And cranberries.
Some year I'm going to just do just sides for Thanksgiving.

I love some pie with my whipped cream.
I don;t let pretzel "salad" or watergate "salad"
We love gravy so much I make at least a quart of it to ensure enough for leftovers.
We do the pie drive by thibg too.

Hello, my name is Darkchami, and I eat cranberry sauce shaped like a can for breakfasts following Thanksgiving.

Some year I'm going to just do just sides for Thanksgiving. This exactly. The thing I look forward to most after Thanksgiving is a turkey sandwich that includes stuffing and cranberry sauce. I wish I could find a sandwich place around here that would make it.

Leftover stuffing sandwiches on white bread. Yes a bread on bread sandwich. Or several. And of course, pie for breakfast.

The mac 'n cheese. I'm supposed to stay away from carbs and dairy (my most favorite!) but the only time I have mac 'n cheese is on Thanksgiving and I totally gorge on it, lol. It's the last thing to be put away so I can sneak bites for as long as possible.

I also love crispy turkey skin--the parts where all the fat cooked off and just the translucent skin is left. I could make a meal of just turkey skin.
Dh and I always roast at least a turkey breast every year so we'll have leftovers for turkey sandwiches--toasted white bread, homemade cherry cranberry sauce, mayo and turkey. We also use the leftover turkey for creamed turkey in little pie shells, turkey and dumplins, and make turkey stock.
I also have to have lots of dressing--my family always just doctored up Pepperidge Farm cornbread dressing. I can eat just a huge bowl of dressing.
We also love our mashed potatoes, green beans, and dh always wants "corn souffle" which is a sweet soft "cornbread" with lots of cheddar cheese and corn mixed into it. It's made of Jiffy cornbread mix, eggs, canned corn (I use frozen) and cheddar cheese. It's good left over.
A family favourite of mine that dh now insists on is my mom's squash casserole. Ours is made with Pepperidge Farm cornbread stuffing mix, summer squash, onions, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup. It's so good even though it's made with cream of crap soup. We rarely use cream soups in cooking because of all the preservatives and MSG, so we splurge at Thanksgiving.
Dh loves Pumpkin Pie, but I really like Kentucky Derby Pie. If we're having more than just the two of us, I'll make homemade versions of each--dh makes the homemade crusts for me. Sometimes instead of Derby pie, I make homemade chocolate merengue. I can eat one of those pies by myself, so I rarely make them.
The past few years my inlaws have catered their Christmas dinner from S&S cafeteria. The food is really good, except last year the turkey was a supermarket precooked heat and serve turkey. Thankfully they're not doing that anymore. The catering is a lot less work, and we can just cook the few dishes that are must haves.

These 'confessions' are so funny! Mine would be stuffing - I love it! I was talking to my Korean friend yesterday who told me she was invited to stay with some American relatives in Connecticut a few years ago for Thanksgiving. Her Korean husband dislikes turkey and was so annoyed at when the family served leftovers for breakfast the following day. Apparantly he was like, 'couldn't they at least have made me a proper breakfast?' LOL - clearly not understanding the Thanksgiving leftover ritual

Thanksgiving foods aren't my favorites, (well, I love the turkey and green beans!), and we our out of town for those 4 days so I tend to lose weight over the holiday! We stay at my husband's grandmothers so I don't feel comfortable just helping myself like I do at home! We go to my parents house for Christmas, and they don't eat any junk food, so I don't eat much there either! haha!
Now when we go to the beach for a month, just the 5 of us, I eat nonstop! But all the walking we do really helps.

I make double just so I'll have enough leftovers. He makes double. It still all goes. Last year he made triple and tried cooking one pan on the BBQ with the other turkey, but it burned. We only have one oven, so we are out of space. I wonder if it could be cooked in a crock pot?

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie. I only make it at Thanksgiving because I would OD on it otherwise. Please share this recipe! I love pumpkin pie and I need to know what this is!

I once spent Thanksgiving with friends who had homemade Snickers Cheesecake and sent me home with multiple slices. It's entirely possible I ate them for breakfast. For the next three days.

My moms stuffing is the bomb. I love it. I don't share it with my family. I hide it in the back of the fridge so no one else can find it. A little turkey, mashed potatoes and a stuffing makes me one happy girl! They all have it at the meal if they want it but no one loves it like I do so I take dibs on it. Selfish? I am OK with it.

Definitely pie. I would not miss any of the rest of the meal as long as there is pie.

I am a stuffing snatcher. I also do pie for breakfast but mine is mincemeat, my all time favourite. And I especially like it smothered in hot brown sugar sauce.
I like the turkey best as leftovers in sandwiches and casseroles and hash. So on my dinner plate I usually have very little turkey which leaves more room for the sides.
