Twice a day, every day, no matter the weather. Since the divorce it’s just my one dog but often it was 3 (mine, the exs, my daughters). Usually 45 minutes to an hour.
my dog has had a series of snowballing leg injuries since August and I put on 5 kgs since no walks! It makes a difference.

I have one little old dog who gets exhausted after walking two blocks now that he has a heart condition. I’ve been walking him for 15 years. I used to take him to a dog park, but the only one who socialized was me. He refuses to ask when he has to go out. He hates summer heat. Hates water and rain. Doesn’t like snow on his tiny feet.
He’s the best dog I’ve ever known.

How far do you go? 4-5 miles on weekdays, 6-7 miles on Saturdays How many dogs do you have/take? one dog, 55 pounds, ACD Do you take the same route every time? No, we have a variety of routes. Is your neighborhood walkable? Yes. Do you ever drive your dogs to a place with a nicer walk? Not often, but I have taken him to a hiking trail before. Do you go during inclement weather? He's not a fan of the rain, but I have taken him in a light drizzle.
My neighborhood is on the very edge of the Phoenix area and we have to watch for coyotes - I see them frequently enough, although I have not seen any in the last month or so. Some of them can be a bit aggressive during mating season, and we have had one come up alongside us before. It ran away after I yelled at it, but didn't show much fear of the dog.
This past week a friend from the dog park lost her dog when it was attacked by another dog. She was just walking her dog in her neighborhood when the other dog rushed out of its house and attacked her, her dog, a little girl, and a couple of neighbors who tried to help. It was very traumatizing to everyone who saw it. In my neighborhood, you hear about pets being attacked by coyotes - but generally not other dogs! I'm so sad for her since she rescued this dog after losing her previous dog suddenly a few months ago.

Mine is OLD and has mild breathing condition so we do not go far at all anymore. The warmer it is the less we go out side. Currently we mosey around our near neighborhood sniffing stuff for 15 minutes but once it’s too hot out that will have to stop.
He used to like about a mile walk 2x per day and he used to love to jump over things. He stopped liking/loving jumping around 8or9 years old, and stopped being capable of longer walks at 11 years old.
When he liked jumping we drove to the park to walk as they have tons of low ‘fences’ or barriers for him to jump. But the mile walk was in our neighborhood which is very walkable
He will be 14 next month.

We walk every morning no matter the weather (except if lightning is in the area). We walk around 45 minutes. The dog will never let us skip a day - it is just part of her morning routine. We have 3 routes to choose from in our neighborhood. I usually stick to wooded areas.
