Sounds silly but I hate showering/washing my hair in winter. Obviously, I do it, but it's so cold and my skin is so dry in winter so I have to reapply my whole layer of body butter and foot cream and cuticle oil and hair protector, etc etc so annoying. I do let my hair go a day or two without washing if possible but it's still such a hassle! And no body wash is moisturizing enough by itself to even begin to keep my skin moist enough.
In summer I don't mind because generally I've gone walking or been gardening or whatever and have probably worked up a sweat, so it feels refreshing, and my skin isn't very dry so I don't have to spend as much time moisturizing every inch of myself.

Walking the dog! All the time it takes to get the 30 layers on, put on her coat, coat her paws, try to coax her to get her business done (she cares not what the weather is, she's just happy to be out), come back in, peel off all the layers. Ugh! It's a total production and after last winter's polar vortex, if we have another bad winter, I'm moving me and my dog somewhere warmer. If he's nice, I may take the DH too!

Commuting to work!! Normally (when I was working until the end of last month) a 45 minute commute could take 2 hours. I HATED that. (Although I HATE not having a job more!)
Pumping gas. (No full service stations here)
Taking care of the recycling, even if just taking it from the house to garage.. With this crazy cold weather, I hate dealing with it (but it is my 'thing' around the house, no one else likes recycling so it's me or everything goes in the trash, and I can't stand that!)

This is me too. Although I suspect what I consider cold and what others consider cold may be totally different. Yep. I am not at all a cold weather person. And anything below 50 degrees Fahrenheit is cold. I get incrementally grumpier the lower it goes. Me too! It was 70 two days this week, and I thought it would be wonderful if that was as cold as it got in the winter. I know so many people were looking forward to cold weather coming, not me!

Well, I feel for all of you dealing with snow. Our yearly trips to Tahoe back when DH worked for a company that would rent a chalet for the season and let it out to employees for long weekends cured me of any desire to live anywhere snow fell. Sure, it was beautiful, but spending 20 minutes getting preschoolers ready to go out, only to bring them directly in to potty, then bundle them up again to go out was not my idea of a sustainable lifestyle.
For me, my least favorite chore is clearing the gutters. We have lots of trees around, and the leaves clog the gutters, and it has somehow become my job to climb the rickety ladder to dig the sludge out of the gutters so that the rain can exit the roof without a waterfall from a blockage.

Yes, taking out the trash is no fun in the winter. Same with getting the mail. But now the girls help with the trash (I do it during the day and they do it after school). My husband and I say that since they choose not to wear coats in the winter, then the cold weather must not bother them like it bothers us (we bundle up!), so they get to do the outdoor chores!
I used to love getting the mail in Dec. because I loved getting the Christmas cards. But it seems most don't send cards anymore, so it's not as much fun to run out in the freezing weather.
So glad I am not the only one who dislikes the cold weather!

Anything that involves driving when the roads are crappy-- running errands, going to work, etc.
I wouldn't mind winter if it didn't involve driving while slipping, sliding, and getting stuck.

We feed the birds during the winter and it can be a huge chore. We had so much snow last year I would have to shovel a path to the feeders. Then lug out the bag of food and fill them. It's a lot of work but it is worth it we have about 20 cardinals that enjoy the fruits of my labor. Lol!

Same as many of you. Pumping gas and taking out the garbage. And by cold, I mean below 50. I've never pushed a shopping cart in snow but I would hate it. Because that would mean there was a lot of snow - since us southerners tend to hibernate until it's gone.

It was 46 here today and I hated it!!! Give me 100 degrees any day- sweltering in the South- can't wait for summer!!!

I'm 40 years old and I have never pumped gas. I used a full service station or DH or son. I'm not sure I'd even know how. I've also never mowed a lawn. My DH says I spoiled but I figure at 40 i e never done them and I'm not going to start now. The full service station I use is awesome and is a mile from my house. Old guy named frank fills it up, looks under the hood, checks the oil and off I go We are going on a trip sort of specifically to show DD how to pump gas. Since we do not have self service gas stations in my state and DD will be going away to college next year, it important in our opinion for her to be self sufficient. And fill your own gas tank it part if being self sufficient.

However, I wouldn't wanna do it in the winter:)

A lot of these chores are done by DH and DS but even if they weren't, I wouldn't really mind doing them (except for maybe shoveling). I like going outside for fresh air after being in a heated house with stale, stagnant air. In fact, I open windows for a little bit weekly, no matter how cold it is, just to get some fresh air in the house. I still walk my dog every day, unless there's a whiteout blizzard.
We do have one full-serve gas station in my town which I go to, simply because they give my dog cookies when I fill up. (We bring them cookies at Christmas time).
What I don't enjoy is attending outdoor events in cold weather where I'm sitting motionless for long periods of time (like DS's marching band competition at Giants Stadium in NJ today). When I just sit around I get cold, no matter how many layers and stadium blankets I have.

This is mine too! I keep a jars of "No Crack" in the kitchen and bathroom for my hands and I have a jar of stuff for my feet on the nightstand. I take warm, not hot showers, but it is still a PIA because of the itchy skin afterwards.

Anything and everything that has me going outside for. I hate the winter! I wouldn't survive in parts of Canada and the US,I really wouldn't! I'd be quite happy to hibernate inside until spring.

And I don't necessarily mean a specifically "winter chore", like shoveling snow. I actually don't mind shoveling, usually. And at least you get warm doing it. But seriously, pumping gas in winter.... As I stood out there today in the wind and cold, and even a bit of rain at one point, I realized that there isn't much else I really hate more in the winter. If we had any full-service stations around here I'd pay extra to have them do it in the winter. And yes, I know I could go sit in the car. I still hate it. eta: and yes, this is a first-world problem. I'm thankful I have a vehicle, and I'm thankful that gas prices have dropped. And, in the part of the third-world where I lived for four years "cold" meant 60s, and someone else pumped the gas into my moped. Anything, absolutely anything that requires me to go outdoors.

Anything that requires me getting out from under my nice warm covers. I've never liked the cold, but the older I get the less I like it.
I never pumped gas until I was in my 60's. DH was in the hospital for about a week and I was on my own. I made my sister come over and drive with me to the gas station for a lesson. She did, but she demanded pay back. When we were out in the rain one day she needed gas. Guess who had to get out of the car to pump? She said it was good practice so I didn't forget how.

Going to work on really cold and/or snowy days. The whole process. Seriously. We have a one car garage and dh has his rarely driven just for fun Mustang parked in there. So our vehicles get covered with snow, ice etc. So cleaning them off, especially in a snow covered driveway totally sucks (we leave at 6 and 6:30 so shoveling/snow blowing only happens before work if absolutely necessary and then the minimum). Then the whole sixty mile drive on a two lane freeway surrounded by farm fields so all the snow blows over. Then I get to work (college campus) and even though my employer deducts about $60 a month out of my paycheck so I can park in one of the closer parking ramps, I still have a half mile walk to my building.
It really saps my whole will to live for a few months. If I'm lucky I can get dh up and ready in time to clean my car off for me, but not always as I need to leave earlier than him.

I think you need to ask Santa for an electric car starter for Christmas! Do you think it would fit under the tree? When we moved a few years ago, one of DH's must haves was a garage with at least 3 stalls. The house we got has 4, and they are all full. I'm just glad my car now has priority. At our old house it sat out in the driveway to get snowed on even though we had a 2.5 car garage and only two vehicles.

I hate vacuuming all year round but in winter with the dry air it is static city and I get shocked all the time. I also don't like pushing the grocery cart out in the snow.

I hate anything chore or activity that means I can't wear gloves to do it. Sometimes you just need your fingers out and my hands get cold so quickly and hurt. No petrol/gas stations that fill your tank for you anymore over here either (or at least very few and none in my neck of the woods) so all you ladies would have to start pumping your own At least you can keep your gloves on for that chore.

I used to hate all things winter and outdoors. Then I bought miniature horses. The first winter? 3 blizzards. THREE. I've learned to dress for the outdoors now.
