It sounds really fun. As far as the price goes, I’m not sure it’s worth it for me. I actually did consider it for a minute but it seems like there may be somewhat of a focus on watercolors, which doesn’t appeal to me. I’m also not into stamps and dies. I like the idea of it but maybe I’m just desperate for something fun to do this summer.

It is $340 (with shipping) for a day and half of events and they give you supplies for 10 projects if you register early. So that averages $34 per project... That seems steep for an online course in my opinion. I guess maybe in person for three days that price seems more doable. When you are online it just isn't the same since the interaction is so different.
I might plan a day trip to my nearest scrapbook store and spend half that and come home with enough product to make projects for the month.

So they are saying the crop kit (including swag?) is worth $275, and the total cost is $350? So you would be paying $75 for the classes. Compared to other events, not a bad price.
But I won't be enrolling. I didn't check, but suspect the classes will be delivered via fb which I don't have. I would like to learn how to use liquid water colours, but I think I will try them in some small doses before I invest that much money.

I think its pricey but stamping isn't my thing. In person I can see the price maybe being worth it. But for it to be online? Yeah...I dunno.

I’m not into the summer camp theme and it looks like some of the stamps and dies will be geared towards that theme so it’s a no go for me.
If I could be guaranteed the stamps and dies were florals and reusable, I’d seriously consider it.

I really appreciate everyone’s comments! I was wondering what was included and the price. In person is the part I like and meeting new people who like to craft. The whole online thing just isn’t for me, no different than watching a YouTube video IMO

It seems tempting to me. There are a lot of supplies included. Although I haven’t taken many classes either in person or on line, this doesn’t seem like a bad deal. I don’t have too much experience using water colors but I do typically like Concord and 9th stamp sets.

Sounds like fun! 5 stamp sets...hmm I am tempted. I will probably pass only because I did a virtual mixed media retreat this month, and I’m saving my pennies for a retreat in April and am hoping to get off the waitlist for the June Crop & Inspire virtual retreat.
I’ve done both and as someone who works outside the home and has a toddler I am very grateful for the virtual option. I hope it continues after the pandemic. The convenience of being able to do this at home in my pajamas without packing up a single supply is amazing! I no longer have any LSS so attending an event would include the added time and expense of travel and lodging, coordinating childcare and time off of work. I am able to attend more events this way. Also I love that the content is recorded and I can refer to it again and again. The host of the last one I did said she would be doing hybrid retreats once her shop could open back up for in person classes. I thought this was a great idea. Thankful for more options that are convenient for all lifestyles. Have fun if you attend and let us know how it was.

I think the value is reasonable - not overpriced, but certainly not a "good deal". It would be tempting if I had money to burn but like other's have said: will the stamps be your style/reusable, will you get the value out of them? Always better IMO to pick out the same $ worth of supplies that are appealing to YOU, not let someone else do it for you.

The price seems okay for six classes and 5 stamp sets, 6 die sets, 6 ink cubes, 6 liquid watercolors + CS/watercolor paper, embellishments, not counting the campy stuff.
But would I use the stamps/dies afterwards? So much in my stash that I “had” to have hasn’t been used yet (?) and so much is donated to a thrift shop (Life4Animals in MD though we’re in VA, in case anyone in the area is interested). I’d miss the before/after chatting in FB - not a member and won’t re-join, though not a big deal.
I like several of the teachers. One talks too slowly for my ears, and I don’t like how she’s treated people. If she’s teaching solo she could be skipped. If they’re paired up, I’d miss two of the six. I might email and ask.
Up in the air. My husband says go for it - LSS classes and the Stamp & SB Expo short classes haven’t been available for a year+ and I’m struggling to find my mojo.

I don't think the price is horrible. However, I wish the consumable supplies were a separate, add on option. I have inks, watercolors, etc. Also, I don't need your candy, camp swag and other stuff that will end up in the landfill. I'd much rather have a stripped down class kit and a lower price.
I also hate that most of these online retreats use only Facebook. I don't have an account and won't get one.
That being said, I would still ante up for it if it was a theme that I would use after the class. From the small peeks I've seen, those are not stamps I'd likely ever use again.

Gee, thanks, azcrafty! Just went down the rabbit hole, and came out with $100 less than I had . Ordered the plaid card front bundle and a few more items. Good news: their shipping charge to Canada was REALLY reasonable ($10). And I know I will LOVE those dies... The crosshatches would work not only on cards, but layered on SB pages. Not sure I will ever actually use them that way: I can love the possibilities of a product, and never take it out of its original wrapping, can't I ?

I agree about the consumables. The last retreat I took said in the future they would offer a deluxe kit or a paired down version since most people already had a lot of the supplies. I thought this was a nice option. It looks like the platform for the actual retreat is Cvent (never heard of it) and the Facebook group is just a bonus. But yes having ditched Facebook a couple years ago myself it’s no longer anything I consider worth any value for stuff like this or a Patreon membership.

FWIW, from C&9th in response to a question I asked: “We're actually hosting the event on an integrated online platform called Cvent. We're really excited about all the things they offer that will help foster a community feel to a virtual event. In addition to this we are creating a private Facebook group where attendees who wish to interact before and after the event will be able to do so but it's not required to get the full C9 Summer Camp experience.” ETA: My apologies - I didn’t read CityGirl’s last post before posting.

Haha...anytime grammadee. I like that die and looks versatile. I'm thinking to sign up, DH said I should try it and see if I like it. I have never done anything like this in person or virtual, and its not on FB what is a huge point for me.

I'm thinking of signing up. I'm a sucker for goodie bags and exclusive products. Like you, azcrafty, it NOT being a facebook is an incentive. I hope this Cvent is easy to figure out, though. I like that I can watch it later, on my own schedule. I better decide before noon on the 29th, the price goes to $349 then.

I think it is way over priced for a virtual event. I would pay it for an in-person.
I don't want to gamble on $275 worth of product that I may like, or I may toss when the weekend is over. Also, unless the 5 colors are new from the release last year - I already have them, and don't need extras. I also find 3 of the "counselors" annoying and full of themselves. and 2 of the 3 classes - aren't a hit for me. Watercoloring and 3D projects - no thanks. and I of course question what in the Turnabout class would I learn, and if its starting from beginner level - I will be bored still and annoyed. Understanding you can't teach beginners and advanced people together. I have at least 5-7 turnabouts already, so I don't need the lesson on how to put the stamp in your misti and use it.
I'm bummed as I LOVE Concord and 9th, and can't wait for them to release new colors of ink/paper. But this line-up was a disappointment, on top of a venue of virtual that can't be interactive, so it will be like watching a YouTube video - with all the counselors having "fun" and us just watching it.
So, yes, I passed on the event. For $345, it has to be well-justified, and this one just wasn't...sadly.

It is way too much for me w the exchange - especially if it is just one company...no diversity of product options. I will wait to see about the October one.

I really like their stamps and dies so I'm looking forward to the box of goodies. I just don't know if I can wait 3 months now 😁

I registered after deciding not to. I crave a card event after none for a year+.
I was waffling out loud and said a lot of the kit may end up being donated, and my husband suggested I forget about the kit and just consider whether I’d have fun. Through lack of practice, I’ve lost the modest watercolor skills I’d acquired - largely through a terrific interactive Studio Calico class way back when - so there’s that, though one of the teachers I may not watch, and I should find a watercolor class again.

I signed up. I’m loving all the virtual retreats. They are a lot of fun. You can keep up or rewatch. I’m learning lots of techniques and they are fun. Plus I can always sell stuff I don’t love in the destash groups and get some money back. I spend my extra $$ on crafts, it’s my one hobby and I’ve enjoyed all of these retreats.
